Get well soon! Love a Waitrose curry.
Cheers Chris, me too, I'll be back for more..
I do love a good Madras myself, unfortunately due to everything being a little more expensive I have not had a curry house one in quite sometime now so I think that might change this weekend! :D Always interested in hearing your opinions on curry because you love a good spiciness the same as myself! I hope you feel better soon, always look forward to your reviews.
Many thanks FW, hope your weekend treat is full of flavour, and heat :)
Hope your ok, nice curry to warm you up! I tried the Holy Moly Guacamole on soughdough toast was very tasty 😋
Thank you Lynne, I'm well pleased that you enjoyed a bit of holy action :)
Awesome review TFS
Many thanks :)
Asda is the place for curry leaves in their Bom Bahia beef curry dish which is rather good. Best supermarket curry bar none that I've tried
Indeed I really like the three Bom Bahias that I've reviewed :)
Get better soon Pap! lovely looking curry! just needed a skip load of chips to go with it😉
Cheers mate, skip load! :D
Hope you're feeling better after that nice curry, get well soon. I made a very nice Karahi this week, I think I added one too many chillies but apart from that it was delicious especially with some freshly fried popodums.
Cheers bigjoe, the curry did help, and yours sounds delicious.
Hey, first off mate - hope you feel better as soon as possible. Might feel unwell, but has not affected your excellent playing, what a tune! / These are quite a regular for me, or was, I now try and weight for a special deal. £5.10 is quite a lot I think, balanced against less for the tin of hot chicken curry from M&S. I do think this is a quality curry ready meal for sure.
Cheers mate. Indeed this is all the till but Waitrose is, as you know :) Regarding Chopin, I adore this polonaise, tricky but worth it :)
Great review, going to try it next time I'm passing Waitrose, even Ludwig approves
Indeed what Ludwig approves of, makes Ludwig happy!
I only buy this range of curries when they are on special offer at 25% off, £5-10 is very near to M&S prices.
I don't blame you Jimmy.
Sounds good for a supermarket special. You really should have saved that music piece for when ya review a spaghetti dish lol.
Hahaa, I get what you mean :)
I laughed when I saw where you placed the outer sleeve 😅 Great curry doesn't come cheap but that one looks good and will make you feel better quicker than any medicine's.
Totally agree with you regarding food vs medicines Uncle, and Beethoven insisted, as I was playing Chopin!
Good Morning Papparoni , sorry to hear you have been under the weather recently I hope that you are feeling fighting fit very soon ! Another excellent review here of this Chicken Madras - it sounds as though it is a decent curry despite lacking the expected heat but for the quality products you pay the money ! and this one sounds well worth the coin ! have a great Friday mate :-)
Cheers mate, indeed a drop of naga oil would suit this well :)
Hope u feel better soon paps great review xx😊
Many thanks M :)
Thanks
TH, you spoil me, thank you :)
Same here hope you feel better soon. I had a lamb rogan Josh from a local Indian takeaway
Sorry to hear that Tom, hope the rogan helped
Get better soon papps. Love the drama of the musical interlude, great review.
Thank you Ms Ms, indeed that piece is dramatic, all of the way through :)
@@PapparoniAgreed dramrama - (do you remember that show from the 80s?). How are you feeling today?
I'm better than the other day thank you Ms Ms but still a bit hmm. Dramarama, I hadn't thought about that show until you mentioned it, fantastic, I'll have to watch one later.. :)
@@Papparoni Glad you're on the mend, I watched 3 episodes of it yesterday, it's still fantastic.
Sorry to see you under the weather normally that is self indulged if you know what I mean ha ha it is good to have a good blow out once in a while but £5-10 for a supermarket curry no way £7-25 from my local Indian and it is full of chicken and really thick rich sauce that looked like tomato soup with about 5 pieces of chicken in it .Give me a tan y Ddraig bt the Authentic curries or a Mumtaz any day of the week for a supermarket curry 👍👍🥘🥘
Hahaa, I do look like it's self inflicted don't I mate, and I miss the Mumtaz curries, they don't sell them around here :)
some till...but what a thrill. Still. Searching for the best supermarket Madras? Not found one yet.
I have to say that I did really enjoy the Farmfoods beef madras and rice, feel free to see mate...

Thanks. Just viewed. Will check it out and report back. Best wishes. From 1 Madras head to another.

Hi Pappy hope you are feeling better soon mate I love a Madras now oh yeah good stuff.😊
Thank you Wayne, and nice to know you are a fellow madras lover :)
Get well soon mate OHHHH Yeaah! 👍
Cheers Antz :)
It moves right🫶🏻
I know ;)
Sounds like some yummy meat... in that curry!yes i always add more salt and a squeeze of lemon, delicious 😊
Hahaa, thanks Rebecca, I do like to present a bit of tasty meat action!
Hi Papp, that curry looks decent but the price is a bit strong especially considering it’s a child’s portion 😉
I’ve had a cold for nearly 3 weeks now, am really fed up with it 😪
Hope you well soon mate and have a good weekend!
Cheers mate, and I can imagine how annoying a three week cold would be, you'll rid yourself of it...
More Waitrose reviews please 👍
I'll be going again soon... :)
Get well soon, hope it's not cvid 👍
How could it be! ;)
@@Papparoni oh well I hope it's summat u can quickly recover from 👍
Give me a day or two ;)
@@Papparoni 👍🙂
Hope you're back on topparoni form soon mate, I'm not feeling great myself at the moment either
Topparoni! Hope your bug passes quickly too mate :)
Can you review the Waitrose 4 cherry Bakewell tarts?
Possibly Eva, not a huge fan of them but you never know :)
I've not been well at all either Pappa. Hope you're feeling a bit better. Apologies for missing some videos. Beethoven is fuming with you sticking that packet on his face. Yes Waitrose can be a bit stingy with the portions sometimes. I haven't had a madras for quite a while. I've had to calm the heat down in my homemade curries. I am just relying on a few splashes of Dunn's River Jamaican hot sauce on my other food now. Nice one Pappa 👍
Hahaa, thanks Emily, Beethoven insisted as I was playing Chopin, and I do hope you feel a bit brighter soon :)
Feel better, mate .... 👍
Will do, cheers Dan
I hope you're feeling better soon Papp... Sadly it's yet another overpriced Chicken Madras Curry in my opinion Papp... As i can buy myself a Beef Madras Curry from my local Indian Takeaway for just £6.99... Or i can add on a portion of Rice with a Naan for a total price of £9.99 with their collection only meal deal... And it'll be £12.99 with home delivery within a three mile radius... This Waitrose Chicken Madras priced at £5.10... For just 350g of Curry... Is quite close to the price of my local takeaway... So i doubt i'll be trying this one my friend... But i still appreciate the review Papp... All the very best my friend... Cheers mate. 🍺
Thanks mate, I agree, takeaway ones are similar till and way better :)
Hope that you feel better soon, Papp.
POL(L)Onaise? Is that the connection today?🐔
You can always knock at least one chilli off the supermarket rating...
Apart from Iceland's "Atomic Vindaloo", from about ten years ago.
I was crying so much that I couldn't see properly.😧
✌
Hahaa, I had the same affair when I did Iceland's reaper curry, and I love your music to food connection, superb! :)
Hope you feel better soon Paps, my sympathies go out to Mr. Beethoven too as he couldn't see due to having the packaging stuck over his face haha 🤣🤣
Thank you Mr Atkinson, and Beethoven insisted as he couldn't bear to watch me play Chopin!
Hi that's all the money hopefully tasty
Indeed it is upper end pricewise Adrian, great flavour though
Crikey, Polonaise op 40 is it now? My fingers seized up watching you play it! Well done that's hard! Sorry you are under the weather, I have been laying low myself as my leg is doing my nut in! Oh dear, have to laugh though! I am still wary of these supermarket curries, they all seem to taste too cardamomy, there is something generic about the sauce I suppose. I will have to invest in a big tub of ghee, as I have loads of spices probably past the best before date, hehe. Madras Cauliflower anyone?? (Ooft, I have a free cauliflower and I am not sure what to do with it)
Hahaa, thanks Lou, I love cauliflower curry so I'll have your spare one, and you're not wrong regarding the Chopin, tricky piece to hit correctly every time :)
Not a bad effort for a supermarket offering!,but then,I tend to make my own so would never buy this,or any other supermarket curry,it’s the only way I can get a 10/10 😂
Hahaa, like it Mark, I bet your curries are the bomb :)
That snippet would have gone with a spaghetti polonaise
04:14 i thought you were going full jack dougles there mate, get well soon
Hahaa, cheers mate :)
🌶Oooh yeees!!🌶
I thought it looked like a meagre portion yet it was 350g! Do you do a lot of Choppin in the kitchen? 😂
Hahaa, I know one thing, I never go out without my chopin liszt :)
@@Papparoni
You’re a wee smarty!
I’ve had that,it’s not bad a bit too runny tho I thought. Papp u look like u shud just give in n go to bed. My grandad always says ‘sweat it out’ but he’s disgusting🤣The music was really impressive, it looked hard to play but u did it great😃
Thank you TH, indeed I did rest after the video, and you're not wrong, that piece is hard!
I hope u feel better soon. I felt a bit crap at the weekend so had some rum with cherry coke. U shud try it, it’s really nice. I felt like it disinfected me from the inside out n I felt much better the next day🤣
Give me a day and I'll be upright again, your delousing cocktail sounds good ;)
I had a bit of hangxiety tho! Hadn’t drunk rum before so was a bit worried to look at my fone in the morning, 🙄but the cold was a lot better.
Superb! I use ashwagandha for anxiety from British supplements ;)
5 quid seems a bit expensive pap. Worlds gone mad
Damn right mate, and about to get a lot madder...
£5.10 for 350g of curry. Blooming hell it is expensive for what it is pap. I could get a medium pack of chicken breast from Aldi & a jar of specially selected madras for that price. With some chips on the side as well. I know it's Waitrose but the price doesn't justify the weight of the product.
I have to say that I agree with you Ashleigh, nice, but all the money.
@@Papparoni Sure is nowadays with these food companies. It's corporate greed & shrinkflation.
And indeed way higher than that ;)
@@Papparonihaha!
i noticed every time you review a curry , it keeps going up in price 😋
This is true!
Hi Papp.
What weather is that you're under? Did you get caught up in a vodka storm or is it you're just not feeling well.
I see the bust gets the product label hanging duties today 👍
All the money for this chicken madras. You must be feeling crook! What's that, about a third to half more the cost of the average chicken madras you regularly review.
As long as it passed the Papp taste and texture test, the price can be justified.
It did look good, but as usual needs more meat.... And salt!
I heard the other day that Bach was in a foul mood as he was shopping for some food. He was very annoyed with the vendors prices and gave the vendor a piece of his mind in protest.
A customer standing there was shocked to see this outrage from Bach and asked the vendor what was he going to do about it.
The vendor shrugged his shoulders and said, not to worry.
Today his 'Bach' is worse than his bite...😂
Have a good one John 👍🤤😀
Hahaa, I wish it was a vodka storm mate. Beethoven was happy as he didn't want to watch me play Chopin, and I laughed out loud at the Bach comment! :D
@@Papparoni I forgot the quotation marks 'a piece of his mind'
I'm sure you saw the pun.
You've not been right for a while... Maybe something stronger than voddy is needed.
Good bit of Chopin!
Thanks Val, indeed Chopin rarely fails to please, and yes, I am still being seen to.. :)
G naan
Over a fiver for that mate 🤷🏻♂️
Nah, be better getting a takeaway to be fair.
Slightly more expensive but no doubt bigger.
I have to agree with you Carl, for a couple of extra quid you get a far better experience.
Extra 2 notes for a good restaurant effort. I'd take the takeaway all day long. That should be tops £3.50.
I agree with you, I'll personally stick with my local £7.50 takeaway madras.
For the price you paid I could have made a curry for 4 with more chicken vegetables and rice. You are far better off cooking yourself.
I agree jeff, for those who are able, cooking your own will be cheaper.
I love your completely non committal responses 🎉
Very true, as is the case with all ready made food.
Or you could've played "Sit Down" by James, Papps. £5•10 for 350g seems a bit rich, but when you think a very average supermarket 400g curry and pilau rice ready meal is £3•50 it's not too bad for 100% curry. Get well soon, my friend 💪👍.
Aw maan why didn't I think of that tune! Cheers mate, and good point regarding other curries :)
@@Papparoni Probably because you're not feeling 100% tickety-boo, mate.
:)
