You should probably mention that Redream currently has no support for WinCE games, so no 4x4 Evolution among others sadly :( Though it's also worth mentioning that this emulator is being worked on quite a bit and the WinCE support is on the roadmap and I completely recommend getting the premium for the upscaling (so amazing playing some of the dreamcast titles at 1080p).
May I suggest some topics we would love to see you cover in the future. Could you consider making tutorials on the emulator ( teknoparrot, Sega Models 1,2,3 and more Arcade related emulators ) and how to connect them to launchbox.
I'm very glad they put it, because redream is my favorite emulator to emulate Sega Dreamcast. I hope this video has solved the problem for many people who could not put it :)
Eta prime is primarily responsible for my success in emulation for these past 2 years. Very good at clear, step by step instruction. Thanks. Watched the early video on Redream. Very good. Would like to know how close we are to eta doing an Xbox tutorial. Also would like to see an option within launchbox under views tab to see all arcade cabnits under arcade. You can scrape the cabnits, but can't view them as far as I know? Thanks for all the hard work. Getting ready to finally put my build into a bartop.
Fantastic emulator for all you Sega fans although I'd recommend grabbing GDI files instead of CDI. Many CDI files have music/cutscenes taken out to keep the file size down.
@@petersunnerberg2778 Aha I had the exact same problem. I just had to do each one seperately with each GDI and other files inside its own folder. Then just point Launchbox at the folder for each game. Takes a while but once it's done it's done.
Demul is free though with all features and use the old plugin for upscaling, Redream is good if you just want to play at internal resolution but it's limited on top. Downside to Demul is it don't seem to work from launchbox using the -run=dc -image= command.
Well after further tests, Launchbox is still importing 'track' files as separate games instead of seeing them as just part of the single title even after putting the files in the same folder as the gdi the way that ETA prime shows in the video. what gives?
In case this helps: This is what I do: Import individual gdi files (not folder). And then make sure you don't move them later because they still need the other files in the directory. Might have to do a search for 'gdi' in the search box, then bunch of them will come up.
Working, but mine doesn't launch straight into the game. When I launch a game through Launchbox/Big Box, Redream pops up with their own library and I have to select the game again there. How do I fix that?
@@GuitarAudiologist it's a setting in launch box, you right click on the DC game you a trying to play click edit, go to additional app and you'll see the gdi file that you have to set to default

Great tutorial again. But i have two issues. Its always in windowed mode no matter what i choose and the keyboard does not work. The only button that works is space for start and escape to exit even tho i changed the corresponding buttons to my liking. EDIT* if i open redream.exe everything works. If i open the games throught launchbox nothing works. A bug maybe?

Sounds like you may have imported the wrong file into LaunchBox. If your games have multiple files per-game (like a bin/cue), make sure you are only importing the cue file.
Hi ETA Prime If you pay $5 for the paid version cand you have CDI roms is there away to make the emulator work in full screen without the cheats as they dont work with CDI roms or would i need to use a different emulator thanks

This normally happens when a user has incorrectly pointed to the wrong game file (like pointing to a bin instead of the cue), or when there are configuration issues within your emulator entry under Tools > Manage > Emulators. I fived the problem by accident, lol. Open with not redream. Instead, go with retroarch, then flycast. All my games worked without the glitches. I think I might have installed flycast. I did so many things to fix the problem. I hope this help you too.

Importing GDI files into launchbox has been a struggle for me, it thinks all the track files are games and I Don't know how to fix it

If you’re using bin/cue files all you’ll need to do is edit the game the game in LB, selected additional files/apps and make the cue file default.

Followed this step by step but for me all games thar are supported show a black screen and nothing happens. Stuck on this one. Have no idea why.

I deleted all the track files without issues and the games all played correctly. Hopefully you already came to this conclusion!

Sounds like the games are not imported correctly. Are they gdi and bin based games and you imported the bin files by mistake and not the gdi files?
