This Is Rugby. | Ange Capuozzo Creates Try Of The Year vs Wales ( Six Nations 2022)

- What a moment this was in the Italy vs Wales clash in the Six Nations, words simply can't describe it. This is why rugby is such an amazing sport. Italy has not been the best over the last couple of years and have been constantly hearing about how they're not deserving of playing in the Six Nations. The media has been hammering them with "Relegation". Yet, throughout all of that constant pressure, they come up with this performance to show the world that they are deserving of playing top level rugby. They earned my respect with that and I'm sure I'm not the only one who they convinced.
As for Ange Capuozzo, take a bow... That moment at the end was magic. He might have single handedly saved Italy's rugby with that spark. He made an absolute ridiculous break and created what should be the try of the year. I know it's still early in the season but with the context of this game and what it meant, I can't see there being a better try scored in that. It might have been one of the most important tries scored in Italy's rugby history.
To cap of this beautiful game, at the end something amazing happened. Josh Adams (Who won the Player of The Match Award), went over to Capuozzo and gave him the award. That was just amazing sportsmanship shown by Josh Adams and I tip my hat to him. That is what rugby is all about. Rugby was the big winner after this game! - Sport
I am Irish but today I feel I am half Italian and half French. Really delighted for both teams. I shed a tear for Italy just because their passion was overwhelming. Big hug to every Italian reading this. 💚🏉💚
You went against your Celtic cousins by supporting Italy? Then supported France despite it maybe winning you the 6N?
Y tho
@@Garethjames696 You make too many incorrect assumptions. I was supporting Ireland until the end. But losing isn't everything. You have to appreciate great rugby when you see it and so I was delighted for France because they played excellent rugby and they had a long famine of not winning the Grand Slam since 2010. Also supported Wales in the Italy v Wales game but seeing the great rugby Italy played I was very happy for them to win after losing their last 36 matches in the 6 Nations. Don't assume too much !! 👍😁
@@Garethjames696 You are talking about those Celtic cousins that enslaved the Irish for centuries and took Northern Ireland just like the "Slavic Brother" Russia now takes Donbass from Ukraine? Those cousins that chose not to be part of the European Union for selfish reasons? Are Irish ppl not allowed to make their own decisions who to support?
@@m4t3matix73 That, and people tend to forget France being also a Celtic nation through Brittany in particular.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart 🇮🇹🇮🇪
Notre première victoire aux Six Nations depuis 2015 👍🏾🇮🇹
Perhaps the Welsh did not jump for joy. As an Englishman and an independent I was thrilled for Italy, it was well deserved. Italy had a solid game plan and in Capuozzo you have someone who is sprinkled with star dust. Congratulations I am so very pleased for Italian Rugby.
Grazie
thanks buddy , happy for Italy and for young Capuozzo . FORZA ITALIA !
Bravo à eux , ils le méritent
I cried when The match ended and I’m Scottish
Probably my favourite 6 Nations moment ever. Can’t stop watching, smiling, crying, getting chills. Just amazing
Two or so weeks later and I'm still watching and I start crying every time I see it, I've waited for this moment since 2015 I can't believe it's finally happened.
Definitely one of my favourite 6nations moments for sure. The emotion from the Italian team made me emotional.
I was there as a Welsh supporter. I can tell you, despite our pain we stood and applauded because we recognised the beauty of that try and what it meant to the Italian supporters. Now look - how Italy are playing in the 2023 six nations.. beautiful rugby!
Thanks to all for your support! It was so important for us to win again after 7 long frustating years.. but I can tell you guys, this last 2 minutes re-paid us of that frustation.. all the italians that kept watching every single match of 6 nations over the last 7 years were running with capuozzo, just amazing, what a moment of glory for la squadra and the supporters.. and what a magnificient sport, from Josh Adam, to the crowd and to your comments from UK, Ireland and France that warms up our hearts. God bless you, viva il rugby!
100% agree with this, it felt so damn good.
So many years of disappointments, of playing well but crumbling in the second half, of surprising our opponents (who can forget "I'm the referee, not your coach") and still losing. So many games where you felt before the game that this was gonna be the one only to be refereed to death. 7 years of arm chair experts writing around a million comments to call for Italy to be replaced in the tournament ...
Not gonna lie, this feels damn good. Forza Italia 🇮🇹
Very happy for you from France !
@@inakomuesliepystykorva8370 merci beaucoup et felicitations a la france pour avoir remporter le 6 nations!
@@tomcads1604 Well Tom, you couldn't express our feelings better (definitely your english is better than mine🤣)
All those matches (and even the ones were we played horribly) comes to memory, we were less and less match after match to believe we still had a place in this glorious Cup, we were losing hope year after year and then it comes this Capuozzo run at last minute..(and all the match played with great discipline and spirit by all the 15+).. we were all thinking "we are going to crumble in the second half" after missing a couple of great chances to make a try, well that run was the end of this long looong nightmare. A great moment of sport indeed, but a great lesson of life too, never give up.. and I'm glad sportsman from all over the world are celebrating with us, because today is this glorious sport and who loves rugby that won with us (Josh Adams the first). Thank you all
From France, this try took me out of my sofa! Superb! The emotion of Garbisi is beautiful. Vive le rugby italien.
beautiful hug between Capuozzo and Adams end match.
What rugby means to Italy… to cry being 50 years old … thanks to this young team! Take care
Congratulations from Wales.
@Commander In Chief 😅😅😅
@Commander In Chief your butt hurts so much. I'm reading your stupid comments and i think you're really frustrated by life.
Watched various shorts of this match - dang this is a good try and he even has sense to pass-off at the end to get the try between the posts for the extra points - so cool. Well done Italy!!!
Yes, he sacrificed his own glory of scoring a try for the overall team victory by passing at the end. Love it. We are all half Italian and half French today. Love from Ireland 💚
@@will2brown50 You assume too much. First, I'm a woman and not a man. Second, I did not support France. But I do appreciate great rugby so naturally I celebrate a winning team that plays great rugby. True rugby fans get it.
well, as a wales fan it still hurts, but that try was absolutely brilliant. congrats to italy, very likable team
I'm French with Italian origins and I lived in Ireland for 13 years.
This was a very good day for me ! 😂😂😂
Congrats to Italy ! They really deserved that win.
What à beautiful moment for Italians !!
So happy for them !
merci beaucoup!

There were 2 winners of that game, Italy and Josh Adams.
I would add Rugby on that list of winners as well
@@tasanalytics and me - I had a tenner on Italy

I agree. You can see such a thing only in rugby.

I'm french we won the tournament yesterday but my biggest chills were from this unbelievable Italy and Capuozzo
I was at the stadium. I wasn't sure this was the most promising match to go and see but my friend insisted. Watching this live at the stadium surrounded by welsh funs congratulating us was the best feeling.
Meravigliosi i tifosi italiani sugli spalti, grazie!
In football some "fans" may have possibly beaten you up.

I was right by the post! Chap sat next to me said we weren't in good seats for the second half... how wrong he was!
Why. You didnt do anything
What I love about Capuozzo is he’s resisted the urge to bulk up and uses he’s smaller stature as a strength. That in and out at 79 mins is absolutely ridiculous
im currently resisting the urge to bulk up too, but out of laziness.
That in and out move was ridiculous. Not a lot of people can do that

A thing of beauty. What a try . Will be watching that many times in the future. The greatest italian try ever .
I am New Zealander with Anglo origins.
I have Italian friends here in Australie.
Congrats to Italy, a famous win.
As a Scotland fan, this was definitely my highlight of the whole six nations. FORZA ITALIA!
Hogg needs to learn from this too...pass instead of taking the tackle selfish git!
I was so happy to see the Scots winning against the Brits !

Dear Scottish friend, thank you so much for your lovely words, GREAT SCOTLAND
@@giannicarini2931 I’m actually English my friend
@@tomcads1604 bravo
Je suis gallois mais j'accord.
C'est vrai.
Absolutely delighted for Italy. The pub we were in erupted when the try was scored. Congrats and so deserved.
wish I were there !! anyhow thanks buddy ! that is why Rugby is a great TRUE sport !!
I’m Welsh and this makes me smile believe it or not. Excellent try.
I have no words for Josh Adams' gesture...
As a Welshman, I really can't be mad at this. Seeing the Italians celebrate the way they did, shows how much it means to them. Well done Italy, well deserved, I hope now you go on and really become a force in the 6nations and world rugby. You have a very good young team
Benvenuta Italia! 🇮🇹

Great Day for RUGBY!

I love Wales, but I'm so very happy for Italy. My hope is that Italy continues to win in in world Rugby. The Six Nations is already the most exciting sports event in the world and having a competitive Italy will just increase the excitement.
This, my friends, this is achievement, happiness, class, humility and just reward. Well done Italy, I rarely have such a strong emotion, thank you so much for this win, this attitude and these tears. Love you from FR
The class at the end from Adams - what a guy.
What a match! Italy played brilliantly and deserved their win. And what sportsmanship from Josh Adams to give his POTM medal to Ange Capuozzo. Love from Ireland
I think it's alot similar to the Japan V South Africa match from the 2015 RWC when at the end of the match seeing the Japanese players and fans crying in the stadium how much it meant to finally win a game today really reminded me of that and the power of the six nations congrats Italy you finally did it
We all applauded that try in the pub, you just have to, when you see such a mesmeric show of skill and finesse. Let us also not forget the emotion at the final whistle. Never felt so good in defeat. Well done Italy. x
I saw that too! I'm glad someone else did!
I'm Irish but absolutely delighted for Italy, took alot of criticism this week on not winning more games but goes to show how much this meant to them, great piece of video and emotion , well done Italy 🇮🇪🇮🇹
last time i dropped some tears for my beloved rugby team was the win over South Africa... oh dear oh dear
i'm so positive thinking this team is full of youngster and that our U20 beat the english one for the first time ever last week... come on guys let's not stop this momentum now
Our U20 have now beaten every 6 nations U20 team over the last two tournaments.
The best is yet to come
Their reaction says it all
I can't wait for those young players to come through for Italy. The Six Nations will be even better with a dangerous Italy. Good Luck from Ireland 🍀
Padovani deserves credit for running the ball into the centre too. How often have we seen people just dive at the line?
Credit where it was due as well, when josh Adams handed his man of the match medal to the young lad, I'm English but even I gotta say that was a true gesture from a true rugby gentleman, well done Adams for that as well as Italy for one of the best moments in rugby history 👌
What a lovely last minute try ! Italy totally deserved the victory. I'm not Italian but the end is so emotional I almost cried with joy. Hats off to Ange Capuozzo : he played one game and a 2nd half scored two tries and did a decisive pass (probably one of the most important decisive passes in Italy's history) and his maximum weight is about 70-75 kg but can compete against much bigger rivals. He is the Italy's new star imo.
Hats off to Josh Adams too, what a gentleman ! HUGE respect for Adams.
probably one of the most important decisive passes in Italy's history
*thanks, captain obvious*
He is the Italy's new star imo

He's not even 70kg is he? Showing that you don't need to be a massive, lumbering brute to play professional rugby. Wingers around the world take notice.
Italy deserve more recognition, as a french, they are full of excellent players, i really dont know what is lacking for this team to shine more. They derserve it.
Thank you!
This France team could win the World Cup next year, it is scarily strong
@@NoName-hg6cc gracie a te ,merci a toi
Well, after the incredible results in the Autumn tests with the teams from the other emisphere I' m pretty confident 2023 six Nations will be quite interesting....
So nice to read such compliments for the Italians, no biased comments, just nice people enjoying sport, Bravo. Big respect to the Welsh gentlemen who gave his player of the match to the Italian, this is what makes men and RESPECT.
He could have easily finished it himself but he had the awareness to pass it and finished under sticks. Forza Italia! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Félicitations les Italiens....trop content pour vous !!!! Bravo bravo bravo from France !!!!!!!
Mad respect from South Africa, I was crying with joy with you Italia!!
Gave me the chills.
The dirty push in Padovani's back could've prevented Italy from scoring and according to the letter of the law it could not have been a penalty try... glad he could stay on his feet
Thing is, if Moriaty had just tracked back properly instead of trying to shove Padovani out the way he may have been in a position to actually put a tackle in.
What’s funny is that by shoving Padovani, they pushed him into a better position to support Capuozzo’s run

I'm Welsh, but was happy as fuck for Italy doing this to Wales. I've been saying to my Welsh mates that Italy have been improving, and they have been peddling the same tired get Italy out of the 6 nations stuff the whole campaign. Amazing sporting moment. Emotional. Loved it
I had to cry with these young men as part of their celebration. All the best for the future. Watch Italy's under 20 team who won the world cup. Italy is building for the future. Just like France.
