Very satisfying to watch a pro at work. 40 hours?! Wow, that's dedication. No wonder my 2hrs on a Sunday morning doesn't give the same results.
Ferrari F40 is my all time Dream car!!! Straight masterpiece
leaving some deeper scratches behind was smart. many detailers don't realize the f40 came with a very thin paint job since they were crazy about reducing weight in any way possible. so a very scary car to detail. will always be my favorite ferrari of all time...completely timeless

What a beautiful beast! I remember to see this car on posters before launch and it was love at first sight. It must have been such a pleasure to work on this car :)

Well I've learnt two things from this video:
1. I'm poor!
2. I'm shit at cleaning cars!
+PT82 a normal proper cleaning can be time consuming, but it's not something that should be done all the time on daily driven cars simply because they're going to get dirty again
a proper wash, claybar, polish, wash, sealant, and wax once a year is fine, and every 4 months or so reapply the wax if you drive it every day.
then just keep up with sealant once a year.
these trophy cars are fine with extra long details because they're not getting driven and will stay clean.

damn, looks like new, nice job! i went almost 40yrs before ever seeing one of these rare beauties in person, then it happened a year or two ago. i went to a car show called SuperCarSaturdays outside of Chicago. it was like seeing the mythical Unicorn, lol.

Considering the F40 is only 24-29 years old, depending on which particular year it was born in. 40 years!....
I feel so bad when people treat a stunning master piece (Supercars) like junkie and wreck them by driving recklessly. I have seen so much Supercar accidents on youtube and other channels and everytime i thought that why those people even bother to buy one if they dont know how to treat.
I salute the owner of this F40. If i were a F40/F50 (my dream cars) owner, i would treat them exactly like this. He deserves it. All the very best for him.

Rowan W i agree with you, but i do think that a lot of people that have a lot of money (and i mean those who don't necessarily knows very much about cars) buys them because they want other people to know that they are rich. And they buy the car assuming that it's no more difficult to drive than a normal car (they probably realise that it's faster though), because in their head it's just that: a car.
Nope alot of them buy them for themselves. Just cause it makes the news and CZcams doesn't mean its all of them. All the CZcams supercar wrecks combined don't count for 1% of supercar owners. Its not just a status symbol. The only person assuming is you. You cant just say THEM cause you saw an group of idiots with money wreck a car there are poor idiots too. Same brains in suped up "normal cars" and UNMODIFIED NORMAL CARS making the same wrecks. They just don't make the front page

As the paint is so thin, surprised a paint coating wasn't used.
F40 is THE Ferrari. I hate all others but this.. is a dreamcar.
Ferrari has to have the most resilient red paint. Even after all of these years, they can get the brilliance out of the red.

that prick COULDN'T handle one turbo, nevermind TWO. the nearest he will ever get to a ferrari f40 is the gates of hell he was born from being re-opened as the wastegate's open up and things get messy in the car.
this particular car was previously owned by a friend of my fathers and i WAS fortunate enough to have a full boost journey - VERY quick.. lol! along some familiar roads locally to where i grew up.
i was always a lamborghini fan resolutely - UNTIL i met this car.
now i defy anyone to beat it as the BEST car ever made.

You mean due to the "paint thinness" or lack of paint thickness. Very nice job by the way.
Absolutely brilliant, we'll done.
Also a car with as meager paint levels as the F40, it's really adviseable to do a micron measurement to see how much paint can be polished off. This isn't the last time this car will be polished and it would be ashamed to wear the paint off to the composite cf.

Red colour turtle wax polish. One coat of that couple times would cover all those scratches. Never use t cut or something to take out scratches. And has to be correct cloths. I'd avoid buffing more than once personally
i born in 1982 Dec and in my childhood this car it was always my dream car and in 2017 still i really wish god gave me chance one day in life just to touch it and sit in it only I don't have the enough to own it just wanna see and touch it in real one time time in my life :) she's she queen for me and till i die she will be always the queen F40 I know theres other cars powerful and stronger but this beast F40 the only car took my heart since my childhood .

Do not let any of the brushes you use, even on the wheels, be on the ground. Small stones can easily get in, and then lead to scratches while brushing and cleaning.

I would hate to have to detail these types of cars. All you get to do it drive it into the garage, look at it and clean it, back it out of the garage and watch it drive away..

Nicholas Burns i would drive a few miles around shop first also to check for issues as a courtesy to owner. Then clean the car.

I was very surprised they used a power washer to help wash the paint off, regardless of how gentle they are, its definitely a risk of blowing off a section of paint

F40 , Best car EVER in my opinion
I've always found washing up liquid gives a nice sheen, and it's especially good for removing bird shit from the paintwork.

excessive amount/force of water I think. Especially when he's pointing that pressure washer at the suspension and stuff. It will look shiny, but you're making it more prone to rust.
And I never trusted those polish machines either, seen them leave small marks.
I'd have a blast figuring out myself what the best way is to clean it the most careful way, and spend a couple afternoons doing so. 40 hours is excessive too. They probably charged like £3000.

+georgyorgy2 wax polisher? wax goes on and off by hand. The machine polishers are for correcting the paint. we have 2 flex vrg3401 and 2 DAS6 Pro and a couple of rotary polishers as well.

big mistake here... you should "never" use any abrasive (polishes/waxes/sandpaper/creams on polycarbonate (plastic) headlights or rear lights - especially the front headlights. Most plastic lights have a UV coating from the factory and heat cured so gentle cleaning is only needed here. Moreover, some chemicals will react to the plastic over time. Oxidation is the main enemy for plastic lights so only a good liquid deoxidizer should be used. Think of it like slowly getting rid of your clear coat on the vehicle until you reach the paint. If you do it enough, you'll get there. O' I forgot, I would not even use a brush on the lights while cleaning... scratches.
