  • This is a fan-made remaster of the original BBC TV Program "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" (1989). This was made for fun and the love of the BBC version of the Chronicles of Narnia.
Please note: while there is an option to watch this in 1080p, this remaster was made from a DVD scan of the original program that was shot on tape. Therefore, the quality is not really going to appear to be any better at higher resolutions. Thanks, and enjoy!

Well said. It was a big dissatisfaction with the theatrical release we got. Totally undermined the purpose of Ripasheep sacrifice, and made the dark island a threat to Narina when in fact, it was just another obstacle they had to face, and by so doing, destroyed it.
The whole movie was finding the seven lords, explorations, and the the story or sacrifice of Ripasheep had to make to free the 4 lords. If they would have done it right, it would have did just as well or better than theatrical version of prince Caspein which was well done!!

Speaking as someone who was one in Canada, David Thwaites was the most 90s kid ever. He was like Junior from Problem Child at 12 years old on steroids. Kids in the 80s got in trouble by accident. 90s kids got in trouble on purpose. We were extreme! What happened, exactly? Where did we lose our way? We got a few things right like not being total jerks to the LGBTQ community, but generally we really dropped the ball. And it was my generation, Gen Y, Gen X and the Boomers who really messed things up - not the millennials. They're the real victims. At least we had our fun in the 90s.

LOL my dial up internet always disconnected frequently during the late 90s and early 2000s. We got some free crap with a bunch of ads and it was always booting me when I was trying to get my girlfriend at the time excited. So inconvenient. Oh to be 18, full of hormones and sugary, caffeinated beverages, and with primitive technology. David Thwaites as Eustace Scrubb was the most 90s kid ever. Gone were the 80s, where kids were lame, "hip to be square" and got in trouble by accident. 90s kids got in trouble on purpose. We went looking for it because it was fun and we were as angsty as a hippie kid in 1960s Texas. So nostalgic.

Dawn Treader was always my favourite from this series. There was real jeopardy and the eery music still brings back memories to this day. The one scene that really changed me as a child was where Eustace comes to the realisation that he may be stuck as the dragon, alone on the island for the rest of his life. That concept really scared me as a young child and I had separation anxiety from my parents for about a year after seeing it.

Despite the lack of good cgi and special effects, this BBC adaptation of the Chronicles of Narnia far surpasses the ones made by disney.
While I did enjoy the new ones more for entertainment purposes, this BBC series closely followed the books which (in my not so important opinion) is far more important than having good special effects, yet miss the actual story.
I'm just dissapointed they never made (magicians nephew, the horse and his boy my personal favorite, and of course the last battle which by the way did win an award.)

They changed 2 important parts about the undragoning. One that he didn't sit and talk to Edmund who had been the first convert in the series. Then that Aslan said the good essentially you lies within which is exactly the opposite of the point of the scene. Eustace became on the outside what he already was within and he could only effect the most superficial of changes where Aslan could reach in and really change him. I’m so thankful for this remaster being available on CZcams, I have what I would imagine one of the earliest dvd releases of the bbc series in the states and when it comes time for the sea storm where the mast breaks, on my dvd that scene repeats itself on a loop once, as a kid I thought it was an attempt at stretching the runtime, but now I wonder if it’s a manufacturers error on my dvd?

That's because they are different actors and directors and different times and goals. BBC wanted to tell the story, Disney want a modern film. Two quite different things. The original 1974 Swallow and Amazon film, like the books, have a girl named Titty, and the new 2016 film does not. Now named Tatty. This is due to different times. Stories change with time

Why do some people always think that effects equal quality? I just love the ones who critique classics. New shows have absolutely no heart, charm, terrible stories that are way different from the originals, characters with no chemistry, and bland, and just all around terrible. I'll happily swap effects for the rest of it. New doesn't automatically equal good.
