Kevin Garnett was Joakim Noah's idol ... until they had beef | Beef History

- Joakim Noah modeled much of his game after Kevin Garnett, one of his basketball idols growing up. Garnett did things bigs weren't normally doing and played with incredible competitive fire, and Noah wanted to do the same.
But after he got to the NBA, Joakim Noah learned the hard way that meeting your heroes doesn't always go well. Especially when they try to bite you.

Happy to say that KG squashed the beef on his podcast a few takes ago and took full accountability for the situation. You can tell how happy it made Joakim too, awesome seeing a happy ending to this
I miss the Rose, Noah, Deng, thibs era 😢
Thibs is a good coach but I think he ran them into the ground. It’s no coincidence that all three of them became injury prone. Tho Noah had an injury before Thibs.
They were so nice 😔
ConsC yeah i loved watching rose missing months during the season. And tibs running them into the ground to cause more injuries. Good times.....
The Wallstar Rose also wasn't what he used to be towards the time they got Jimmy
ConsC don't forget Gibson
I’ve met Derrick Rose twice he’s my idol and a great guy.
Trunks d rose is a great guy because he’s been humbled and fought thru injuries his whole career
James Cross maybe he was raised right and never forgot where he came from?
K IDK maybe not kuz his first 2 years he was reported as a trash talker and not dirty but not fair
@Draped Up& Dripped Grandmama is my favorite player in 2k
@Draped Up& Dripped he also has a good celebration
Joakim Noah looks like the kinda dude that smelled like ham in high school but nobody wanted to tell him.
Growling Goomba makes no sense lol
lmao
Dead 🤣😂🤣😂
The Big Ticket!!
😂😂
He made Glen Davis cry but Glen Davis was already a "BIG BABY"
😁🤣
Truth B. Told I laughed hard at this
Christian Thompson I had to lol
He actually didn't. It was a coach and KG was trying to calm him down and get him ready for the game.
Truth B. Told He got the nickname from that incident lmfaoo
@@cartiersabu Big Baby got his nickname in highschool bro. Freshman year football team i think
KG also said happy Mother’s Day to Timmy D when he knew his mother was dead
Probably calling him a woman but that went over your head
@@yonguicho2696 no it was because of his mother's death,
@@lifeslemons5408 no

Basketball is my favorite sport. I like the way they dribble up and down the court.
i like slam dunking
Slum danking
I like how they dont play D in nba
water bear 😂😂
i like them spinning the towels from the bench
Don't let this post distract you from the Fact that Joakim Noah was once named an MVP Candidate
YouCan'tAlwaysGet WhatYouWant Injuries got to him, he was a really good 5 before he became injury prone .
And DPOY
@@willapedia6094 wdym good? he was DPOY in 2014 and 2 time all star. He was amazing
And shouldn’t have been in that race he was never that good. His best season he averaged 12 and 11. If that’s the case deandre Ayton needs to be mvp for averaging 16 and 13. Bigs should never average under a double double. If Russ can get 10 rebounds that is the bare minimum a big should be able to get.
@@mumblezz__5890 so much ignorance in this one comment
I started playing baseball at 9 years old after going to a Yankee's game and seeing Alex Rodriguez play. I started as a left-handed third baseman and wore #13 to be like him and eventually transformed into a pretty good first baseman. 9 years later I finished playing my senior year at high school which would end my baseball career and during that Summer Alex Rodriguez announced his retirement. I immediately bought a single front row ticket in section 112 (which is where players warm up before the game and where I originally first watched Alex from). This was my first time ever driving out of the state at the time and I got to the stadium 5 hours early all by myself in the Bronx. I waited at my seat through the rainstorm that came through and after Alex came out to warm up I told him this story and how much of an insperation he has been on my baseball career, I brought along my original #13 jersey I wore during my first ever baseball game when I would play third base lefthanded and he signed it (It's a green jersey you can see it in the FOX rewind of the night if you look close enough). From that moment on I do not think I have stopped smiling. It was the bow that tied my childhood together before moving on to college. So moral of the story, its not always bad to meet your legends sometimes they make your dreams come true.
Fantastic read. I met A-Rod and Jeter (my hero) at an away game in Toronto via some connections my Dad made through work. Both were exceptionally nice and signed for me. Glad you got to share a very similar experience.
what an awesome comment. and baseball is gay.
That sucks, I wish you attempted college baseball. At least you met your favorite player. I'm glad you did. (PS Red Sox fan here, but I don't want to start a beef over a fan meeting his hero. 😂😂)
If you was pretty good why did did the end of HS mean the end of ⚾?
J'ai pas lu
Man I miss the old Bulls from my childhood. Gordan, Deng, Rose, Boozer and Noah. Such fun teams to watch.
The Bulls would still be a contender if Thibs hadn't run all them boys into the ground. His rotations always featured no bench, with the starters playing a ridiculous 42-45 minutes a night.
DoxRap he was t a good coach but no one went over 38 mins bro
Wasnt*
Actually they only went up to 36 mins 1x
But I agree he was an overrated coach
I know for a fact Butler played some crazy minutes and I'm almost positive there was a stretch he was playing over 38 minutes consistently
Love this video series. Amazing in-depth view of the basketball feuds on and off the court. Please do these next:
a. Quentin Richardson vs Paul Pierce
b. Kobe Bryant vs Shaquillle O’Neal
c. Michael Jordan vs Isiah Thomas
d. Spike Lee vs Reggie Miller
e. Matt Barnes vs Derek Fisher
f. Dennis Rodman vs Karl Malone
Lebron James vs Delonte West
Shaq vs Charles Barkley
George Karl vs Everyone who played for him
Ray Allen vs Paul Pierce, KG and Rondo
Nah. They always stretching this Beef thing to far.
Rodman vs Malone would be dope for the WCW clips
Spike Lee vs Reggie basically has an entire 30 for 30 episode on it
Matt Barnes v. Literally any other person in the league.
I'm 36 and I have been saying for most of my life that having idol's/hero's is a GREAT a thing but if their (as is often the case) a celebrity then you should NEVER meet them because you will only be disappointed. And I say this because when we have someone who greatly inspires us we unflinchingly exaggerate their positives and minimize or negate their negatives.
Actually what am I thinking, I met Tommy Heinsohn once and he was even better than at his best on TV that day....I didn't expect him to make me laugh so much....
Dale?
It’s not that deep, they’re humans jus like us with way more money
unless your idol is Dirk Nowitzki, because that man is amazing and everybody who's ever met him believes so.
Exactly
I need more these basketball beef videos
I think you should’ve put more emphasis on their 7 game series on 09. They were going back and forth and 3 of the games went to triple overtime. That would give this beef the edge it needed.
Excellent point! That may have been the most enjoyable basketball playoff series I’ve ever watched. So much fun!
@@Hoss1919 what a time my man
I just love Beef History. Keep up with the amazing work
I love these beef histories. Keep them coming!
After watching this I watched ALL the episodes and I am now late for work. We got Beef. Great work. Great editing. Great commentary. Any beef stories with Jordan, Bird, or Rodman would be appreciated.
we need more of these! once a week would make the channel grow so much
More beef history please
This is my favorite series on this channel
Your beef puns are on point
Of all your sub-channels, I find the Beef History to be the best produced and written.
My favorite SB nation youtuber.
I love this channel and I love this series
Both these guys are great. This is old school basketball.
Yes, it's back!
I was just thinking about this today. CZcams’s algorithm is godly
lol I didn't even know this was a thing. Loving these beef videos, is there enough meat for a Bron vs Noah beef video? I know there was a little something there.
SB Nation please make a video on the problems of the MLB all star. How stats don’t matter only popularity does. I think it’s a topic that needs to be more widely addressed
*Your audio is top notch* 🙌
Brooooo your videos are the best!!! BEEEFF!!
That 2nd comment on Noah’s KG retirement post 5:29 😂
😭😭
I really enjoy this series. Someone should do it with rappers and rock stars
Do a Pedro vs jorge posanda beef video next
I got a KG jersey in 07 and got to meet him once and he seemed lovely.
Love your stuff
I like Beef History dang
That bite attempt though lol I was cracking up..
Do a video on the first ibb I feel like that would be interesting
that Charlie Villanueva part hurt me 😂😭
That was a great video
Could you do
Ray vs KG, Paul, and Rondo?
and
Matt Barnes vs Derek Fisher?
More please

Good vid
Man just watching all these beefs super vaped out keep up the great work
Seth is so underrated as a creator for SBNation. Every video of his captures and keeps my attention
Joakim Noah has been missing in the league for years
Tristian Mason For 3 seasons
Been counting his big paycheck
Tristian Mason injuries ruined the last chunk of his career
I think about a week ago, he got signed. Good for him
@@Onlyrealmusic4life No Noah didn't get signed. The Hulk brought him back to the NBA using the Infinity Stones. 😂😂
Do George Karl vs Everyone
I like ur videos
How his career aged quickly. Today, he is "Noah" to be seen
Kenneth Jose weak
Its Noah where
Anyone who plays significant time under thibs is likely to see their career shorten by a few years
I feel like KG is the kind of person that you have to work hard to earn his respect. Like, KG loves Kobe because after all these years, KG knew Kobe was one of a kind, the hardworking and self-discipline one.
AND NOW THE BEEF IS OVER! 🔥
seeing drose smile makes me happy
That beef was good for the league. I looked forward to Bulls - Celtics games. Rookies from 04 on are too nice and buddy-buddy
That 7 game Bulls vs Celtics series is one of the most exciting rounds of basketball I've ever seen.
Make more.
Can you do Dennis Rodman vs. Alonzo Mourning......... those Heat vs. Bulls games were great.
He is like SYNDROME to MR.INCREDIBLE
KG is my dude but everybody knows he wasn't picking on no real dudes lol

He didn’t really start to talk trash til he got on a loaded Celtics team. He has the fake tough personality of draymond green

The Kevin Garnett "losing" interview changed everything
Edward Malcolm how is it a L fam?
pita kafoa Garnett is my dad and he is very mean
This is common in rivalry ,he harbored the feelings until opportunity to openly express his intent. k.G touch his nerve with criticism still just the same Noah need to pick his battles especially being a team player.
The one player Tim Duncan hated was Kevin Garnett. You could tell by his stats everytime they went up against each other. Y'all should make a video on that!
You should do video covering the Joakim Noah and LeBron/Cleveland beef
That’s life for you. It’s not always what you expect, but there is beauty in the end. Like Garnett biting his hand lol
i'm a big KG fan to this day. he's fierce on the court but a great guy of it. that's just how he is. :)
Future episode suggestion: Sébastien Bourdais vs Paul Tracy, from the world of American open-wheel Racing. A feud that involved fistfights, “French helmets”, Lucha masks and two of the greatest drivers in their sport.
Damn I forgot about that bull Celtics series. Lakers fan here but I still think that is the best series I ever saw.
“There’s no love during battle” “there’s no makes to your free throws”😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
This one was ok but I'd really like to see a Deron Williams/Jerry Sloan one. That whole situation was always so strange to me

4:10 I think KG is the one who started the "next question" before Russ did. Lol.
I’d like to see one of these on McDavid/the entirety of the Oilers and Brandon Manning
Oh, oh, OHHH PLEASE DO JOAKIM VS LEBRON!!!
Do more hockey beef
Well Joakim was an all-star multiple times and was fourth in MVP voting so he did pretty well for himself 👏👏
Joakim got that Billy Blanco thing going
I met my idol and I like him even more now
Dude narrating is the goat
You should do a beef history for robin Lopez and the mascots of the league.
Noah was the heart of that bulls team
Anything is possible!!!
Do a Senna vs Prost, please.
I met Rasheed Wallace one night at the airport in Detroit right before he went to Boston. I asked for a picture and he politely declined. He seemed tired/stressed so I totally understood him not being down for a pic.
I don't have beef with him or anything but that's the only celebrity I've ever met so I wanted to share.
Too bad Joakim had the worst shot form I've ever seen. If he could knock down 18 footers, he would have been freaking amazing.
Coincidentally Tim Tebow had one of the worst throwing motions you'll ever see but back in the day they were both winning championships at Florida together.
Essess Nine theyre both trash and couldnt hack it in the pros
Then you haven't seen MKG's form. Straight abomination.
BEEF MASTER GENERAL IS BACK!
KG out here makin grown men cry. trash talk level 1000000
Jackson Langford difference between being a trash talker and a douche
I think hes probably both lol
That was hilarious when he tried to bite him
Here since 5.4k views
Can we get more episodes of Drawing Board
You need some NFL beefs. A good one to start with is Andre Johnson and Courtland Finnegan
joakim will always have my heart
You've gotta do Jordan v Thomas
Noah and lebron has some beef too. Do some vids of it too.
Let’s get it
Many people would be discouraged.
Can you do Kevin Garnett vs. Dwight Howard? That was a good one.
Noah, Rose, Gordon...
...probably the only Bulls I've liked since the '98 chip team.
Yo why he have to call my man's a cancer patient I'm sleepp
Well if Joakim was drafted by the Celtics, things would of been way diffrent.
Danny Woo but he wasnt.
I think that’s whole group of guys real issue was Thibs. You look at Rose, Joakim, Luol and Butler. Thins used to run these guys down all would maybe have even better careers even though he made them defenders
Would it though?
