Not going to lie, watching Meganium actually DO something was satisfying as hell.
It used to be a beast in GSC with access to Swords Dance, Body Slam, and Earthquake... Man.
I did like using it in tandem with my Umbreon in Pokémon Colosseum, though! When I was a kid, I didn't know Umbreon could learn Moonlight at a later level, so to compensate I used a Snatch and Synthesis combo.

Lol that opponent was in deep denial. He could have switched out Metagross at any point and dealt with the Meganium, but he really wanted to keep that Trailblaze boost.
It's a shame Haydunn's battle replication technology doesn't render Lapras' majestic dragon hat.

If you're interested in competitive battling, but a bit intimidated by the labour of building a competitive team and online battles, then there are some Romhacks of old Pokémon games that offer this style of battling, but in a single player format.
Pokémon Radical Red is something I'd recommend you check out if interested
Same for me (except I already own the game) never been in competitive Pokémon because to me it seems that if you didn’t bring pokémons from a very narrow selection you had no chance to win.
I remember seeing some tournaments or something like that and they where showing the six finalists and four of them had the same team and the other two had 2 different pokémons. It’s so boring to me! Where are all the other pokémons? Where is the fun?
But whit those videos I see that you can take pokémons outside of the competitive selection and be successful with them. It make a want to try it out
This generation has also made getting a team together, fully trained and ready, the easiest and most importantly the quickest it's ever been. Genuinely

Nobody ever expects the DD Lapras lol I run tera ground on mine to punish electric attacks, and with water absorb it can catch people off guard trying to hit it super effectively with water type attacks
