I didn't know about the "can't trap ghost types" mechanic. We out here learning
I love type specific secondary effect i.e. dark type immune to prankster ability
They are immune to ability trapping too, like Shadow tag and arena trap
Really nice if you get a ghost in a Nuzlocke because it guarantees you can run from wild battles.
That mechanic was added in XY
Grass types are immune to gas and spore moves
Dark type is immune to the prankster ability
Ghost types are immune to trapping moves.
Ground, Rock, steel types get boosted in sandstorm
Rock specifically gets sp def boost
Ice types get def boost in snow
Probably missed a few or got some wrong it’s 2 am
Almost beating the most OU of OU teams with dewgong and meganium is crazy. Always love to see the hitmontop in action!
actually some are UBERS, which is way worse than OU. Flutter Mane, Palafin. Goldengo should have be banned too

The reason is not that one, remeber that at the time it got freeze was a tera fairy so basically Dewgong lost his Ice Type so that was the main reason about Dewgong being frozen solid. @@mikedacoolnerd788

Interestingly enough. Lapras also has hydration and 95 base special defense. The main difference is its slower than dewgong but a lot more bulky
Lapras doesnt learn fake out which makes dewgong a much better perish setter in doubles

Dewgong was one of my my main mons back in pokemon stadium 1, as it actually had a good moveset.
Also, perish song dewgong is my new jam. I think I saw Joey use a similar set as well, as he too is a perish trap enjoyer. Altaria is another good one, and my favorite, using fire spin.

we love underated pokemon getting love in videos and you always make it looks so much fun that a pokemon that most would not use and make a super fun set
I think this wouldv'e worked well with a secondary rain setter or something like the toad who can set it up on switch in (blanked on the ability name). That way, if you need to, you can get off a rest on dewgong, swap over to the other rain setter and set the rain, then get dewgong back to wake up.

Haydunn back at it being easily the most unique and innovative Pokemon battler. It's really awesome watching these videos and seeing you come up with new strategies that nobody else uses or thinks about. It's nice to have people like you using different Pokemon and strategies versus people who always use the same Pokemon and overused, recycled strategies.

YESSS. My favorite pokemon. I wish he got some more love stats or ability wise though I always thought of like a narwahl type of evolution... so long as it stays cute! Dewgong is the G.O.A.T as far as I'm concerned.

They gave them to mons that didn't need such buffs, like Exeggutor and Cryogonal, and left Gong, Parasect, among others, into obscurity :( Cryo buffs should have been given to our beloved Kanto Sea Lion ;) 🤍🤍🤍🦭🦭🦭🧊🧊🧊

If it makes anyone feel better, while dewgong is notoriously bad in the main series game, it's actually a monster in pokemon go PVP (Great League).

Odd suggestion, I know, but have you ever considered trying spewpa? It kind of goes hard in doubles, eviolite + friend guard is a pretty good combo and I’ve had success with it. With how bulky it is, you can even run Rage Powder to keep attention off your other mon on the field.
It’s surprisingly fun to use, and with your skill I’m sure you could find a good team for it.

Simply play 5 mons with a 4x weakness to Ice and Dewgong with its 6x resistance to Ice. Stonks.

Assault Vest
Thick Fat
Fake Out/Knock Off/Ice Shard/Flip Turn
It's bulky enough to take a few hits, augmented by Thick Fat. It has outstanding priority access in Fake Out, Ice Shard and even Aqua Jet if you wanted. Knock off is standard utility, giving it solid use even if it doesn't take anything out. And Flip Turn pivots out into the real heavy hitters. You could always swap the atk and spd EVs, but I like the extra damage, personally.
Nothing game breaking, but a solid support attacker. And yes, maybe Lapras is far better in almost every way, but it doesn't have access to Fake Out, Aqua Jet, Flip Turn or Knock Off.
