Agreed, great tips! Tried the wreck cheese and didn't work so went back to just grinding it. Not gonna lie took me about 4 or 5 hours but finally. Slowly kept improving and takes awhile to get a feel for the car, when to break and when to use ram etc. There are also certain spots like the grass you suggested where its great to pass or make up time and others where I just played it safe. But I digress, thanks for the great insights!

It's the way the car unpredictably spins out on the simple corners, then the straight up AUDACITY of the AI to call you an amateur as the drive past.
That shit was pissing me off lmao. I just won the race after a couple hrs of attempting.
Oh to add to frustration I was playing on keyboard and mouse. So those turns were especially difficult.

It’s not even a fair and balanced challenging race, they just make all the other cars faster and make your car a cement block on wheels.
I think the reason the race is so difficult in the original game is that they designed it using a racing wheel completely forgetting many at that time didn't have that (And even today many don't have that). I think I spent like 7-8 hours the first time before managing to win the race lol
No wonder people were uninstalling the game when it took hours to win it

I won it after 3 restarts without the video. But i mainly play racing games so i can see why people who play shooter games would struggle.
@@55marpo yeah same I played f1 23 before I installed Mafia DE, I think I did it in like 3-4 restarts, it was fairly easy cause everybody is slow and just do the racing lines and you will win.
this race would be really fucking easy if whenever i slightly bumped into something im not forced to do a MINUTE FUCKING LONG BURNOUT

Man this race was brutal on classic, it was impossible. After watching this video it took only 2 tries and i was number one. Platinum Trophy here i come, great tutorial 🎉👍🏻
Fr I had to use the shortcut learned from online tutorial to beat it back then.
On classic it took me 22 tries to beat it its really difficult
It took me about five. Before this video I was well over fifty and couldn't win. After watching it, I still kept getting screwed by the most ridiculous random things. Even the time I won, I almost got screwed because a SIDEWAYS AI car just popped onto the track, right in front of me, after the last big banking turn before the finish.

@@Twigg4075 Theres a pattern. I had to observe each car just to win the race. In some cases you will need to slow down. It was hell. I finished the game and its currently one of my favorite games. Im abt to play the 2 and skip the 3 cause its repetive af

Show me your ways, man. The ram button just keeps throwing my car to the side instead of centering it and cutting grass doesnt let me get past other drivers about 9 times out of the 10, especially the first corner grass

This video definitely helped me! I was frustrated at first, but months later I used it to finally win the race that I couldn't beat when I first played it. I did what it said and I won!
PSA The other racers are RNG based, meaning they can sometimes all bunch up after the first turn and you basically start the race in third or you'll be lucky to be in 12th.
ALSO. If you are in first place they will skip the death animations and all drivers will stay in the race! However if you get passed then the next available death spot will trigger.
The race I got the trophy only one driver wrecked, and it was where the third crash normally happens on the third lap, on lap 1.
Pretty interesting info that might come in handy! If youre neck and neck coming into the end maybe let him pass and die at the big speed boost wall turn. Good luck! Like I said it's RNG based basically so it'll seem impossible then you'll have what seems like a god - run.

I even tried the “cheating the AI” method, which people were saying was easy, but it was difficult as hell to me. I think the reason why this video helped me a lot was because not only did you explain the tips very well, but showed what buttons to press on the bottom-left corner. This video is a life saver. Also, I am subscribing to this channel too.

Omg thank you I just beat it on Classic difficulty, took me about 25 tries but I got it. I didn’t even use the ram button. Big thing is when you come to a turn don’t be afraid to slow way down by tapping the breaks, I feel like the ram button would just mess me up, and cutting through the grass is a huge plus, helps you pass a lot of people each lap, and oh finally if you’re not in at least 6th place after the first lap just restart cause you’re not catching up

Beat this on classic after a couple tries, video really helped. Cutting across the grass and using ram when turning made the difference.

I've followed these instructions and I can confirm that It works, thanks a lot buddy this video is a lifesaver, I completed the main history back in March and I wasn't able to get past the race because I just didn't know what I was doing, mafia definitive edition is one of my favorite games ever and now I can go for the Platinum, thanks a lot! Am I doing something wrong? I keep doing exactly what the video says and my car won’t slow down at all. I spam the brake button and I still ram every fucking car in turn 1 or I basically stop. Such a waste of time I can’t even g

I beat that race mission on classic difficulty, had to restart 5 times, but i manage to beat it and the whole game in classic plus got all achievements, am glad i played the whole game and enjoyed every minute of it.
This video helped me pass this difficult level thank you so much!! The ram feature is really what helped be get better control of my vehicle. Also, Mafia Definitive Edition is so worth playing until the end. Truly a masterpiece

I heard rumors that this race kicked a lot of people's asses. Once I got here, I was pulling my hair out trying to beat this damn thing. I couldn't even get to first place, much less stay there. But after this video and the tips provided, beat it on classic first try! Thank you so much!

Finished it on the 4th after watching this! I really appreciate the hints it really helped a lot!
Took me a few tries in classic difficulty. Maybe 1hr and a half or so. I just knew that mafia 2 has different car mechanics than what i’m used to (GTA V) and so i had i to expect Mafia 1 is too, maybe much harder so i did.
Tip: 1. Don’t speed up in curves, try to think realistically. Would you speed up in real life when there’s a hard turn? Brake as hard as you can if you’re approaching a curve and you’re on full speed.
2. Do not rush, even if you’re second, if it’s still second lap heck maybe last lap, the first place will crash. Eventually, one of the cars ahead of you will crash, one way or another.
3. Remember to ram them ahead of you.
4. Try to take advantage of em. In the finish line, there is a very hard turn to the left ahead right? After that, try to surpass atleast one or two maybe three cars by going to the grass making a little shortcut. Grass don’t make you slower, just be careful when turning. USE BRAKES! Or just don’t accelerate and just turn..
Lastly, Repeat and get used to the mechanics of the game! 😊

I just want to say Thank you ! 🎉 I was this close to uninstall this game and never play again after 60+ attempts literally after I saw this video I said to my self “I’m gonna win and I’m gonna use his strategies” over and over and once I used your tips my gooodness it worked like a charm , I’m so happy and relieved bcuz I was raging , and crying and even with the cheating videos and breaking AI didn’t even work for me.

I cut the grass as soon as I saw it! it helped me gaining places in the first lap and time in the others, same for using other vehicles to slow down at turn 1, you also can cut a little bit the chicane but there is only one line to use and if you miss her your car will go airplane
I think many of us would like a video about getting rid of the turret cuz there is no easy way to achieve that! it took me a good amount of time the first time I tried it in the definitive edition

THIS VIDEO ABSOLUTELY WORKS. In case you want a short summary, I suggest treating this race like a legit racing video game where you have to compensate for turns coming up by slowing down as much as you can, not making contact with other cars and treating the RAM button like a stabilizer while your tap/press the brake button at the same time so you drift into corners. Doing all that made me go from always last to just taking three tries.

When I was going for the platinum I was horrified for this race as most trophy guides made it seem like it was going to be a chore to come in first. When I finally made it to the race mission I just used the ram mechanic to perform tighter turns and I won after only one try and finished way before the person in second place

Watched this video, followed the tips (primarily the ones about braking, cutting through the grass, and riding the white line on the incline), and beat it that next attempt. Had to restart cuz I got a little overzealous in my braking, and then didn't get lucky with my cutting attempts, but other than that, it worked fine. Thanks for the tips!
