Now it's been confirmed that Trident Dragion will be reprinted in this year's tin which is not only several months away but will probably be short printed.
I'll save a couple 100 bucks this time around. In the meantime, I'll hop on my old Myspace to look for any friends for this so called Trident Dragion...
With Tengu Plant format picking up, they should have used opportunity to reprint staples like Tengu, Thunder King, and Maxx C. Could also use some Edison reprints like Magical Android, Amaryllis, and of course, Trap Dustshoot

The thing I liked about Rarity Collection 1 was that it featured a ton of otherwise stupidly expensive staples, and effectively crashed the market on them so much that casuals like me could finally afford a Baronne. It seems like this was just a happy accident, but I that's basically what I wanted out of RA02. Dragoon, Chimera, Alternative, & the Visas Planets are fantastic examples of this, but I'm really disappointed in the rest of it. *Especially* MST, which I'm pretty sure is the 2nd or 3rd most reprinted card in he game already.
Honestly that’s kinda what I was hoping for too, why reprint cards that everyone and their grandma already have, or just cards that no one cares about. Like don’t get me wrong, RC1 had a few misses, every set is gonna, but Jesus did it have more hits
The thing is rarity collection 1 was a ocg product and the tcg only took maxx c out iirc. Rarity Collection 2 was just Konami TCGs idea and with Psychic End Punisher + Underworld Goddess included - it seems we will probably not get Maven 2 like the OCG did
@@captainmunchlax4808 diviner, dis pater, kurikara, any of the bystials, all of the kashtira monsters, the nemesis monsters (especially the bosses), stardust accel, thunder king rai-oh, thunder dragon collossus, the sacred beast spells and monsters (for yubel), the alt art of poly, punishment dragon, older melodious cards like 1st movement, ect. There are many relevant cards that actually could have gotten reasonable reprints, that got skipped for no reason. There's a long list of good, standalone cards that any decks would love to have, that tcg just glossed over. RC1 had basically a wide range of generic goodstuffs, with a couple of more specific things tossed in, to the point that every pack felt like a good opening. It was effectively a trade binder in box form. This set is nowhere near as well thought out, and it shows how much worse tcg is than ocg at these decisions.
@@chrismiller3548Tbf foolish burial is an "every format" card and never a bad print. The only format that doesn't want a copy of Foolish burial is Goat because it straight up wasn't printed back then.
No expectations and I was still disappointed. Slot in 10 cards that people want that are needed like Thrust, Fenrir, Chaos Angel, Spright Blue and this becomes a very good set. Its sad cause probably 80% of these cards exist for under $ 1 already with few like Solemn or Book being ok because people want them higher rarity.
You named specific cards, so I believe you had expectations. 😊 Also, I looked through the set lists and RC02 has ~62% (49/79) of the cards that are under dollar or so, while RC01 has ~67% (53/79) of the cards are under a dollar or so.

They could have also used good Edison reprints for expensive cards like royal oppression. Also your point on card prices, your comparing the price of cards from RC01 that were heavily opened and already in stock to cards that haven't even been updated in their price. For example cards like Lightning storm or droplets being $20 pre reprints vs now being $4 and $1.50. Meanwhile for example a card like Dragoon is still going to be expensive since there still not super rare dragoons in stock.

If you really wanna have an experience, look at how many of RC02 cards are currently like $10+ and look at RC01 cards and how many of those cards were $10+ before RC01 release.
I felt that since they focused so much on Alternate artwork so much that Alt art Ash Blossom should have 100% been in the set. I personally wanted to see cards like Harpies feather duster, Daruma Cannon, Snatch steal, and the charmers.
Half ot the cards here were either reprinted within the last 6 months or were already pennies. I'm not saying they shouldnt have been here but 10 or so could have easily been replaced with Fenrir, Druiswurm, Kurikara, Dispater/Chaos Angel or Thrust. 4 out of these + classics like Rai-Oh, Snatch Steal, Upstart Goblin, Chicken Game or Cyber Dragon Infinity and Harpies Feather Duster + Colossus or Protos and it honestly would have been a good set instead of being mid at best. Super Poly and Lubellion already have a OCSR, so i was sure they wouldnt be here. Trident Dragion also (just too expensive), it being in the Tins is disgusting and it should have been in another reprint set. That 400 card mega tin this year, oh brother i bet there wont be any shortprints at all :) Konami really heard the community when Snake Eyes was 1k+ bucks, so they made tenpai cheap + rarity collection 2 and really messed this set up. The mega tins will also be another diseaster.
just for clarity trishula and warning and duality are tengu format legal cards not edison but yes their is a lot of edison/tengu format cards in this set
Older formats should get separate products. People who only play modern will have no use of Hamster or Thrishula, and part of the people who are going to play Edison and Tengu might not be interested in modern cards at all
Exactly, like give the oldies their own set to look forward to, and leave us modern players out of it(no hate to players of older formats, but when Konami tries to cater to both of us at the same time, they also screw us both over at the same time)
If they had stuck with just the alt arts for Droll, Phantazmay, and Cat. I would've liked to have seen some cards like Thrust, Red-Eyes Fusion to go along with Dragoon and Plasma alt art. My only real issue is that it doesn't feel like it's enough. There are a lot of cards that just aren't played heavily, which has clearly caused some discourse from the community. All in all, this set, imo is missing one thing, and that's a better pool for the extra deck

phantazmay only comes in alt art. the 2 alt arts, just like in RA01, have the same number as the original art so they don't take up space that could've been for other cards. super poly already comes in QCSR in BLMR so it was never going to be included here.
Edison? I'm sure Trishula and Solemn Warning are NOT available in edison, they're Tengu cards. It just feels off considering Trishula has been reprinted plenty of times, so was Solemn Warning AND SPECIALLY MST; Hamster and Ryko needed a reprint though, they were getting a bit expensive lately, but even then there were more cards missing like Dragion, who was used during Edison btw so there's no excuse here.
@@kuyagoldlink7563Considering they were COMMONS, you need 3 of and are only for a time wizard format, it is still kinda expensive. Also, no print in over 5 years means deterioration. It wasn't a problem yet but it was becoming one, and ignoring this kind of scarcity is what caused the Dragion problem.
If rarity collection was S tier, rarity collection 2 would get a solid B+. Set has lots of good reprints but not enough to warrant it as a must buy. I am also sad no Dis Pater reprint but hey at least we have something to look forward to in the tins.
There is a lot of stuff I want, so I personally don't see the issue with the product without getting nitpicky. Although, my theory is a lot of the reprints in here suggest they might be looking to support Edison on a more official basis. If that ends up true, this is a great set.
When the very first set spoiler dropped however long ago, I remember telling all my friends "This is will be ass". Im happy I was right. Fuck this set, they need to actually reprint cards that matter if it was ever going to live up to the 1st. This has straight up wasted cards. No reason shit like MST and Twin twisters need more reprints. But dont worry, got our 30th poly reprint...
chaos angel and thrust came out last year i believe so expect them in the tins is the reason those are missing but other wise ya their a lot of missed opportunity
I think players got too excited and speculated with excess grandeur. They were hoping for things like Chaos Angel and Dis Pater, not considering that those cards will sell the tins. It had reprints that make decks more accessible (Blue-Eyes, Dark Magician), reprinting meta staples (Accesscode, Apollousa), and some good generic cards (Gold Sarc, Prep of Rites). This is a decent reprint set. It did its job
People being confused by Edison reprints in this set boggles my mind. People are begging for alternative formats and old school formats to be at sanctioned events and here is Konami acknowledging that and trying to reprint cards for their most successful time wizard format in a collection that is for competitive players for both the modern and time wizard formats as well as nostalgia heads and vendors. I don't understand the fact that people are confused by this. You can't beg for sanctioned events of older formats and then get upset when they're trying to acknowledge that this is what I hate about the Yu-Gi-Oh community because they can never stop whining
I never seen casuals buy cards for competitive play. Nostalgia heads don't care about anything beyond DM and that stereotype continues. When casuals or otherwise say they want alternative formats. They don't mean playing competitive or semi competitive. They mean playing random jank playground format while pretending you're in anime fantasy land. We expect standards for modern ygo as that's where all the elites are. Casuals don't support anything except their own unfunny memes
Crystal wing is a good card, glad they reprinted that, it was getting expensive, along with Accesscode and Chimera. Chaos hunter is a good counter to most banish strats in general.

Agreed, folks are silly getting their hopes up with Konami expecting them to reprint 70$ dollar cards just because they did in the last set. Folks need to learn to chill until the official lists comes out.
People can say this is bad, but honestly, I like how this is giving people stuff people have been unable to obtain before this (because price mainly). As someone who plays domain format, theres alot of stuff i can get from this for using in my decks for that format.
I think the set is decent at best but RC1 blows it out of the water. Way more desirable cards, better staples, more focused product. RC2 feels like they didn’t really have a direction of what to put in the set, they just said “OH SHIT RC1 DID SO GOOD LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!” And that’s why this set doesn’t feel as good as it could’ve been.
Reprints that no one needed, Most of us already have Multiple copies of these cards already, The only good thing is AccessCode Reprint and a few other things, Everything else is just redundant and not really helping much of anyone. Solemon Strike for the 15th Time... They just keep choosing cards that really don't need RePrints.
Sol and Luna is a card I should have tried in my Tindangle deck by now. Aside from that, Skill Drain has saved my ass many times over the past couple of months so QCR of that sounds like an obligation to that card. If I don't, the card will stop appearing in my starting hands.
Off topic, but since you mentioned this set feels like an Edison set... I'd personally really like if they make sets for older formats. It's still making product while also allowing more into the game (albeit not current format). They've (apparently) been noting the rise in popularity of them (namely GOAT and Edison), so I personally see this as an opportunity.
The main issue with this set is theres too many archtype specific cards and not many ones that are used generically like Borreload was and too many low value cards because of it. I get people wanting SP Little Knight and Ty-phon but those were really unrealistic asks. Kashtira Fenrir is the main miss for me.
cost wise i feel bad for anyone who bought cases. i'd say this is one set where you'll be better off just buying the singles. i mean for 31 bucks i got warning, judgement, strike, twin twist, and foolish all prismatic ultimate. also got 1 of the 2 quarter centuries i want with raff at sub 10 bucks. only other one i want is twin twist. it looks so amazing. they really dropped the ball with most of the reprints people were actually looking for.. like trident. oh it's getting the reprint, BUT not till mega tin time. there are some good reprints in it, but as a set i fail to see the 100+ price tag meet value unless you pull godly, and even then it's a gamble. plus some of these cards in here proves we most likely wont see mavens 2 anytime soon. 1 last thing. achoo achoo. people are still apparently allergic to gold prints so now they can have them in non gold print.
In my opinion, it isn’t as strong as RC1. However, there’s plenty for me at least to want to hunt down. The unchained reprints are solid, the alt art ghost girls are awesome, and some of the branded reprints would look sick for my deck. Heck, even Accesscode talker is cool. But I will say, there’s several cards that I don’t personally think should have been in here.
This set isn’t as good as the first one in my opinion but as a Blue-Eyes and DM player I’m very excited about some of these reprints!! (Especially Bingo Machine and Magicians Souls because I don’t have those cards IRL yet) but the Blue-Eyes reprints I personally think are really good especially because of the Structure Deck that just got announced for the OCG (really hoping we get this Structure Deck in the TCG just so I wouldn’t have to buy the singles if the new cards end up being imported into another set) other reprints I really like in this set are Accesscode, Apollousa (even though it’ll probably get hit on the next banlist), Guardian Chimera, Garura, and Droll is always a good reprint too
Honestly Rarity Collection 2 isn't bad at all. Like there are much needed reprints, but I do have to admit it's not on the same level as Rarity Collection 1.
While I expected the set would be mid at best, I feel Fenrir would've been better than Sol and Luna... Regardless, I'm still going to be collecting as many Droll & Lock birds as possible now that the superior art (imo) is no longer stuck as a gold rare. Playsets of alt art droll in every rarity would be ideal, but I'll stick to playing supers and/or secrets in my mainboard (or side if I'm not playing trickstar)
Well, I'm at least glad I now can have a Discount/Cheap Knock-Off Ultimate-Rare Polymerisation.Thats actually nice. Other than that, the Solemn Cards are nice. Also things like Crossout and the like. I agree on Super Polymerisation. Wish I could have had that in Ultimate Rare too. But then on the other hand, that just means it (most likely) wont get banned/hit next banlist.
Rarity 1 had higher highs but lower lows. Rarity 2 will be fine but they held stuff back for Rarity 3. Also, alt arts dont count towards the 79 card count. They are just a bonus.
The only thing I hate about rarity collection 2 is they reprinted the visas planets with no targets, they could have at least reprint Visas Starfrost and Kashtira Fenrir
I actually think one of the main reasons people are upset with this set is it’s 1.5x the cost of RC1 but it’s much less impactful in terms of the card set.
I just want to get a QCR of the ghost girls so that I have all of them in their hogheat rarity, including Droll & Lock Bird. Sadly I am still missing Ash Blossom in QCR, and it is so expensive to try and buy her by itawlf.
I’m just glad I only ordered 1 box. Main thing I wanted was Super Poly, super disappointed that I still have to pay $6-8 for a common if I want another playset.

To be honest, I like this set, I think it's a good idea to make staples like MST available in many rarities, unfortunately newer staples should also have been included here, and the price is unfortunately far too expensive.
MST was already available in literally every rarity that wasn’t exclusive to the RC1. And besides no one plays it currently, it’s been heavily power crept

I have been wanting to build live twin so I was hoping for the links to get a reprint. The only card in this set I would need is crossout... Maybe droll I guess. Everything else in this set has zero value lol (to me at least)
I think everyone has the right to complain about the cards in the set, but in terms of what the set is it’s still amazing. The point of the set is to decrease the price of cards, whike bumping or giving new rarities to cards, while giving a fun experience when being opened. On that aspect the set has absolutely succeeded again. As always with sequels, it’s not going to live up to the hype of the original. However, I think the choices are good, there’s loads for retro format players. Budget reprints of staples like accesscode and even cool alt arts. It’s not a bad set, it’s just mid compared to the god set that was RC 1.

Almost like this is a 25th anniversary collection reprint set, a set of cards that were historically good across the first 25 years of the game.

This year as a whole has just been mid to horrible for Konami, first they ignore Europe, uninvited Americans to worlds, and then the banlist, this set, and now today they announce Dragion in 4 months. Just a dogshit year for Konami.

phantazmay only comes in alt art. the 2 alt arts, just like in RA01, have the same number as the original art so they don't take up space that could've been for other cards. super poly already comes in QCSR in BLMR so it was never going to be included here.

Edison? I'm sure Trishula and Solemn Warning are NOT available in edison, they're Tengu cards. It just feels off considering Trishula has been reprinted plenty of times, so was Solemn Warning AND SPECIALLY MST; Hamster and Ryko needed a reprint though, they were getting a bit expensive lately, but even then there were more cards missing like Dragion, who was used during Edison btw so there's no excuse here.

@@kuyagoldlink7563Considering they were COMMONS, you need 3 of and are only for a time wizard format, it is still kinda expensive. Also, no print in over 5 years means deterioration.
It wasn't a problem yet but it was becoming one, and ignoring this kind of scarcity is what caused the Dragion problem.
Regardless of how you feel about this set, between RAO1 and 2, Branded is eating on the shiny stuff
If rarity collection was S tier, rarity collection 2 would get a solid B+. Set has lots of good reprints but not enough to warrant it as a must buy. I am also sad no Dis Pater reprint but hey at least we have something to look forward to in the tins.
It's a pretty disappointing list over all. Was really hoping for a Chaos Angel reprint.
There is a lot of stuff I want, so I personally don't see the issue with the product without getting nitpicky. Although, my theory is a lot of the reprints in here suggest they might be looking to support Edison on a more official basis. If that ends up true, this is a great set.

When the very first set spoiler dropped however long ago, I remember telling all my friends "This is will be ass". Im happy I was right. Fuck this set, they need to actually reprint cards that matter if it was ever going to live up to the 1st. This has straight up wasted cards. No reason shit like MST and Twin twisters need more reprints. But dont worry, got our 30th poly reprint...

I think players got too excited and speculated with excess grandeur. They were hoping for things like Chaos Angel and Dis Pater, not considering that those cards will sell the tins.
It had reprints that make decks more accessible (Blue-Eyes, Dark Magician), reprinting meta staples (Accesscode, Apollousa), and some good generic cards (Gold Sarc, Prep of Rites).
This is a decent reprint set. It did its job
if they wanted to support edison i loved a substitoad reprint, as it costly as hell for frogs and toad is at 1 in the current tcg

People being confused by Edison reprints in this set boggles my mind. People are begging for alternative formats and old school formats to be at sanctioned events and here is Konami acknowledging that and trying to reprint cards for their most successful time wizard format in a collection that is for competitive players for both the modern and time wizard formats as well as nostalgia heads and vendors. I don't understand the fact that people are confused by this. You can't beg for sanctioned events of older formats and then get upset when they're trying to acknowledge that this is what I hate about the Yu-Gi-Oh community because they can never stop whining
I never seen casuals buy cards for competitive play. Nostalgia heads don't care about anything beyond DM and that stereotype continues.
When casuals or otherwise say they want alternative formats. They don't mean playing competitive or semi competitive. They mean playing random jank playground format while pretending you're in anime fantasy land.

Crystal wing is a good card, glad they reprinted that, it was getting expensive, along with Accesscode and Chimera. Chaos hunter is a good counter to most banish strats in general.

Agreed, folks are silly getting their hopes up with Konami expecting them to reprint 70$ dollar cards just because they did in the last set. Folks need to learn to chill until the official lists comes out.
People can say this is bad, but honestly, I like how this is giving people stuff people have been unable to obtain before this (because price mainly). As someone who plays domain format, theres alot of stuff i can get from this for using in my decks for that format.
I think the set is decent at best but RC1 blows it out of the water. Way more desirable cards, better staples, more focused product. RC2 feels like they didn’t really have a direction of what to put in the set, they just said “OH SHIT RC1 DID SO GOOD LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!” And that’s why this set doesn’t feel as good as it could’ve been.

Sol and Luna is a card I should have tried in my Tindangle deck by now. Aside from that, Skill Drain has saved my ass many times over the past couple of months so QCR of that sounds like an obligation to that card. If I don't, the card will stop appearing in my starting hands.

Off topic, but since you mentioned this set feels like an Edison set... I'd personally really like if they make sets for older formats. It's still making product while also allowing more into the game (albeit not current format). They've (apparently) been noting the rise in popularity of them (namely GOAT and Edison), so I personally see this as an opportunity.

The main issue with this set is theres too many archtype specific cards and not many ones that are used generically like Borreload was and too many low value cards because of it.
I get people wanting SP Little Knight and Ty-phon but those were really unrealistic asks.
Kashtira Fenrir is the main miss for me.
cost wise i feel bad for anyone who bought cases. i'd say this is one set where you'll be better off just buying the singles. i mean for 31 bucks i got warning, judgement, strike, twin twist, and foolish all prismatic ultimate. also got 1 of the 2 quarter centuries i want with raff at sub 10 bucks. only other one i want is twin twist. it looks so amazing. they really dropped the ball with most of the reprints people were actually looking for.. like trident. oh it's getting the reprint, BUT not till mega tin time. there are some good reprints in it, but as a set i fail to see the 100+ price tag meet value unless you pull godly, and even then it's a gamble. plus some of these cards in here proves we most likely wont see mavens 2 anytime soon. 1 last thing. achoo achoo. people are still apparently allergic to gold prints so now they can have them in non gold print.
In my opinion, it isn’t as strong as RC1. However, there’s plenty for me at least to want to hunt down.
The unchained reprints are solid, the alt art ghost girls are awesome, and some of the branded reprints would look sick for my deck. Heck, even Accesscode talker is cool.
But I will say, there’s several cards that I don’t personally think should have been in here.

This set isn’t as good as the first one in my opinion but as a Blue-Eyes and DM player I’m very excited about some of these reprints!! (Especially Bingo Machine and Magicians Souls because I don’t have those cards IRL yet) but the Blue-Eyes reprints I personally think are really good especially because of the Structure Deck that just got announced for the OCG (really hoping we get this Structure Deck in the TCG just so I wouldn’t have to buy the singles if the new cards end up being imported into another set) other reprints I really like in this set are Accesscode, Apollousa (even though it’ll probably get hit on the next banlist), Guardian Chimera, Garura, and Droll is always a good reprint too

Honestly Rarity Collection 2 isn't bad at all. Like there are much needed reprints, but I do have to admit it's not on the same level as Rarity Collection 1.
While I expected the set would be mid at best, I feel Fenrir would've been better than Sol and Luna...
Regardless, I'm still going to be collecting as many Droll & Lock birds as possible now that the superior art (imo) is no longer stuck as a gold rare. Playsets of alt art droll in every rarity would be ideal, but I'll stick to playing supers and/or secrets in my mainboard (or side if I'm not playing trickstar)

I agree on Super Polymerisation. Wish I could have had that in Ultimate Rare too. But then on the other hand, that just means it (most likely) wont get banned/hit next banlist.
Rarity 1 had higher highs but lower lows. Rarity 2 will be fine but they held stuff back for Rarity 3. Also, alt arts dont count towards the 79 card count. They are just a bonus.
The only thing I hate about rarity collection 2 is they reprinted the visas planets with no targets, they could have at least reprint Visas Starfrost and Kashtira Fenrir
I actually think one of the main reasons people are upset with this set is it’s 1.5x the cost of RC1 but it’s much less impactful in terms of the card set.
I just want to get a QCR of the ghost girls so that I have all of them in their hogheat rarity, including Droll & Lock Bird. Sadly I am still missing Ash Blossom in QCR, and it is so expensive to try and buy her by itawlf.
I’m just glad I only ordered 1 box. Main thing I wanted was Super Poly, super disappointed that I still have to pay $6-8 for a common if I want another playset.

To be honest, I like this set, I think it's a good idea to make staples like MST available in many rarities, unfortunately newer staples should also have been included here, and the price is unfortunately far too expensive.
MST was already available in literally every rarity that wasn’t exclusive to the RC1. And besides no one plays it currently, it’s been heavily power crept

I think everyone has the right to complain about the cards in the set, but in terms of what the set is it’s still amazing. The point of the set is to decrease the price of cards, whike bumping or giving new rarities to cards, while giving a fun experience when being opened. On that aspect the set has absolutely succeeded again. As always with sequels, it’s not going to live up to the hype of the original. However, I think the choices are good, there’s loads for retro format players. Budget reprints of staples like accesscode and even cool alt arts. It’s not a bad set, it’s just mid compared to the god set that was RC 1.
The set did it's job like they did with the rarity collection 1 and that was plunder as much wealth from the community as possible.
