  • John Lennox, Professor of Mathematics (emeritus) at the University of Oxford, spoke at Imperial College London on 22/2/18 about the relationship between science and faith. He highlights common misconceptions about both science and religion, analysing important questions and encouraging students to be proactive and skeptical in their investigation of these topics.
There were some glitches with the video recording, but the audio is clear and consistent.

The main problem is that people do not know the definition of God.

@@miguelnava3911 There is not an "individual" definition of God, but the theistic concept based on logical and theoretical demonstrations. Nothing less. Nothing else.

I believe God created the timeline from the side. This means the universe can be eternal without end because God is eternal but can be created & have a beginning and end at the same time.

I believe in Jesus (peace be upon him) as one of the greatest prophets of supreme God and what he preached was simply different from what we see in the contemporary Christianity which was invented by Paul and that's not what God's message originally was

Quite distracting...the man introducing (mumbling) the esteemed John Lennox. The introducer can't seem to stand still!! John Lennox settles me down, as always. Erudite, humble, reasonable, knowledgeable, focused!! He has spoken before Academes in countries all over the world. What a man! He is so engrossed by his subject(s), he doesn't embarrass his host by insisting on a podium or chair fit for sitting. I'm

It's abundantly obvious that if a god exists...it doesn't care about wether or not I believe in it. Otherwise, it would use it's power to reveal Itself to me personally and unambiguously. I wouldn't need to guess, or infer it's existence. I sure wouldn't need faith...if it cared about what I thought.

Faith is only the means by which God has chosen to draw those who are His into His marvelous light. It's a gift and when He grants it to you it's all of Him and His timing and not yours. It's by His favour towards you. Favour that you don't deserve and did nothing to receive. He made himself known to all through that He made so that all are without excuse. People suppress the truth in their unrighteousness because their deeds are EVIL

I felt that very same way for a while. I watched every Le tire and video hoping it would get me there so to speak. I struggled with that.
Bam,it hit me. The proof I needed would violate the law of free will. I realized that if I got the proof I wanted,I would no longer have free will. It's hard to explain but it strengthened my faith.

    • @cristilaye5912
      @cristilaye5912 Před 2 lety +1

I feel that I should better explain what I meant by my free will comment. Some people say God is a dictator.
I believe that would be true unless we had free will. As soon as God gives you that very proof you think you need, I believe he becomes a dictator. Why? Because you would not have a choice to deny him. Deny Hitler way back in time and he would end you.
Think about that. If God walked up to you and gave you physical proof, would you be free? No! Your life has to be your making. You have to freely choose. That's my take on it. Hope it makes sense

Our God-made Science! Ah~ ~ Not the Scientists!
Jesus, our creator made heaven and earth and everything in it!! (Gospel John Chapter1, verse 3)
The Almighty God!! The eternal God, our soon Coming King, Jehovah... Jesus Christ!!
Jehovah, "I AM THAT I AM", this is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Anointed One who said to Moses on Mount Sinai, when he received the 10 commandments!
"Through Him, (Jesus) all things were made - without Him, NOTHING was made that has been made.
No Scientist Can Create The Whole World and Create it OUT OF NOTHING!! No one can create out of nothing, except God!
The unbelievers will be judged and sent to hades with fire and brimstones -
Fire with endless reeking brimstone - the fire is HOT! HOT! HOT - you wish to die, but this is the unbeliever's Eternal Home with the devil!
The unbeliever's eternal place, just because they did not ask for forgiveness of their sins...
And did not receive Him and treasure Him in your heart as your Saviour!
And because you don't know him personally, you are judged!
YOU CAN NEVER SAVE YOURSELF FROM HELL: BY NOT KNOWING HIM OR BY YOUR "OWN GOOD WORKS"!!
Good Works? With black hands of sins, whatever you touch to do the "GOOD WORKS", will become BLACK! THAT'S ALL MESSED UP.
YOU CAN NEVER be SAVED if... Jesus Christ is a stranger to you and you don't know Him personally! You can never be saved ...
He LOVES YOU AND died for your sins in your stead, so you don't have to die and can enjoy eternal bliss with our father God in heaven!!
Thank you, Lord, you died instead of me and you sacrificed your body to the Father God as a sacrificial lamb for me (See what a sacrificial lamb means: "the lamb slain before the foundation of the earth").
On the cross, He, the lamb cried out: "It Is Finished!" - the salvation work is complete! And he died!
WHO WOULD DIE FOR ME JUST TO SET ME FREE?... NO ONE, NO ONE LIKE JESUS!
And he rose from dead after 3 days for us! HE will come back at any moment!
Those who were judged and dropped into hell, this is his/her end! This is his/her home in eternity - an unending, forever place!
I am crying out to you sweetheart before it is too late! The Lord Jesus is coming at any moment...maybe this afternoon, or tonight?
... or in a few seconds, nobody knows when He arrives! Before it is too late receive Jesus Christ into your heart:
Pray this prayer for your salvation. Just humbly kneel down before him and pray this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want Your forgiveness. I accept Your death as the penalty for my sin and recognize that Your mercy and grace is a gift You offer to me because of Your great love, not based on anything I have done. Cleanse me and make me Your child. By faith, I receive You into my heart as the Son of God and as Savior and Lord of my life. From now on, help me live for You, with You in control. In Your precious name, Amen.
Congratulations! Now you became a child of God!
Now, please find a 100% Bible-believing Evangelical church (Pentecostal church or Full Gospel church) to grow as a little child in Jesus Christ, where Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit are present! Let's be ready to welcome Him our soon coming King Jesus to enter our eternal wonderful home!! I am so thrilled when I think about entering my heavenly home! You too? I hope so :) :) :)
