  • Koh Lanta has some of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. There are 9 beaches in the island with most holiday travelers visiting one or all of the 4 major beaches on the west side. In this video I show you the top 4 beaches on the west starting in the north. These beaches are.
Klong Dao: Klong Dao is the busiest beach on Koh Lanta. The close proximity to Ban Saladan provides a wider range of places to eat within easy walking distance. Better for families, Klong Dao has a long stretch of sand with shallow water.
Long Beach: Officially known as Phra Ae, Long Beach is the next major beach south of Klong Dao. Backpackers and budget travelers prefer the quieter atmosphere and cheaper accommodation along the northern part of Long Beach. The southern half of Long Beach is home to several resorts. Long Beach has the longest stretch of clean sand on the island and slopes gently into deep water with little surf. The swimming is excellent.
Klong Khong: South of Long Beach is Klong Khong, the rockiest beach on the island. Klong Khong makes up for the poor swimming in other ways. Charming cafes, good places to eat, and cute bungalows help.
Klong Nin: Below Klong Khong is Klong Nin, a beautiful beach strip with some decent swimming between sections of rocks. The pristine sand attracted a concentration of three-star resorts. Eateries and such are more spread out in this section.
There are other beaches that are all worth visiting and photos ops abound. The father south you go the quieter the island gets. These beaches are also on the west side of the island and you can see some amazing sunsets from any of these beaches.

In my mind the best of these 4 beaches is king beach. The 4 km long stretch of brilliant white sand is a real treat to visit. If you want to see more take a look at a video I made for just this beach.

You will enjoy the island. It’s one of my favorite places in Thailand and I’ve been pretty much everywhere in my 15 years here. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions.

You will enjoy the island. It was my first time there and I extended my stay longer. I made several more videos from Koh Lanta that will give you a few more ideas on things to do. We went to the mangrove forest and a boat tour to some smaller islands off the coast. I didn’t do the caves, the waterfall or the national park on the south. We just didn’t have enough time to see it all. If you have any questions just let me know and I will do my best to answer the best I can.

@@endlessjourneytravels Thank you, that sounds good, me and my wife have been there 13 years ago and now we are ready for a few weeks in silence with good food and drink in the sun with a good book, we hope to forget all the problems at home with criminals shooting each other and the war in Ukraine, we plan to be away for six weeks in Thailand. Once again, many thanks from Lasse

Just stumbled onto your Channel ..
Could you tell me what's the best place for long term stay in Thailand , thanks

Welcome to my channel. As far as long term it depends on what you are looking for. Most stay either in Bangkok or Chaing Mai. There are more things to do and larger expat communities. If you come here for work these are the best areas. If you are looking for the beaches many set up in cha-am Hua Hin or Phuket. Me personally I prefer Bangkok even with the traffic, noise and crowds. I hope this helps.

Thanks, can you tell me which are the good Bangkok suburbs to stay in which are safe from the floods n airport noise as am thinking of getting a house in a gated community .
Bang Yai looks nice as it's got West Gate mall but is prone to floods .., hoping that staying in Greater Bangkok near the mall will give me that laid back urban feel with less traffic jams n congestion
Will Bang Saen be a good backup option worth considering ...

@@rudd2962 bang Saen area is nice but if it was me I would consider Cha-am or Hua Hin before that as a back up plan.
As far as in Bangkok traffic will be terrible everywhere. Flooding can happen in most of the city after a few days of heavy rain. Where I live it never floods but in 2004 it flooded here and we had waist deep water for 2.5 months. That being said bang Yai does flood seemingly every year. I was thinking about you wanting to be near the mall with a laid back feel you might think about Minburi near fashion island. It will be near the new BTS line later this year but it’s still pretty undeveloped. It’s also far enough away from the airport you should be ok. You could also go south of there towards SEACON square on sinanakarin road, near Rama 9 park. That area isn’t too bad for traffic and flooding and far enough away from sukumvit so it’s more laid back. Just a few thoughts. You might check out Bangkok Pat’s channel. He’s done a series on some of the housing in the suburb’s with his thoughts on some of the areas.

Thanks bro , will definitely check up the places you mentioned
Am looking at Bang Na (several developments are 6 km from Megabangna) , Mantana Onnut-Wongwaen n Baan Klang Muang Suan Luang but don't know if the last 2 is too near the airport ..
Scary thing is that didn't see any place listed as NO flood risk.
They only say low flood risk at most but i see lots of houses in gated communities n I was thinking (maybe too optimistically) how would people want to stay in these if there is even one flood problem per year ...
My present last option is East Pattaya (3 km from seaside to avoid floods) but prices there is about the same as in bangkok suburb so was thinking might as well stay in Greater BKK if so ..
Expats say Hua Hin is so communally small that it became a gossipy place where the locals talk about everyone so i'll probably try to avoid it if i can

the klong kong beach was more beautiful long time ago before the government built a stone wall which looks now dreadful due to the removal of the stones . only the skeleton of the concrete construction remained. very sad picture when you are considering how it was long time back when i took care of this beach and planted bushes and cleaned it up

I would’ve loved to have seen it then. This was my first trip to Koh Lanta. Out of the beaches I enjoyed them all but Long Beach was the one I enjoyed the most. I need to plan another trip there again soon. Thanks for sharing the history of klong kong and thanks for watching!

We stayed at the Lanta Casuarina Beach Resort for 3 nights on the island. The hotel was nice, location was amazing and included breakfast. Would stay there again. This is at the southern part of king beach.
