      @Janvier Kasra systemic racism doesn't exist, it's not government policy to bring down black people, discrimination laws protect against such things also the fact that many people in high up public offices are non white people
      Reni is an idiot who refuses to talk to anyone who disagree with her opinions, so instead of giving a good argument that backs up her claims with evidence and data she just has to say "I'm not debating someone who doesn't accept the tRuTh" it's a cop out because there is no evidence because structural racism ain't real, individual racism is real.

    You mean avoid having a debate, as there is no evidence of structural racism? Unless of course you keep changing the definition of racism to someone who you perceive to look at you funny, or not offer you a job, or spell your name wrong?

      No, she experienced racism and there's proof for structural racism. This is not an opinion. But even if it was. People can have an opinion. You can read her book and have a different opinion. You can write your own book or write a comment why you disagree with her. But you are not entitled to her time to discuss you. You're not entitled to try to change her 'opinion'. You're not entitled to hear the discussing around it.
      People don't have to prove their experiences. If someone experienced racism, then that's their experience. We can do things to minimize that happening to people and change things in our society. Or we don't. But it's not constructive to have a discussion 'Does racism happen?' what is the end result of that? If it's proven that it happens (which has already been proven many times), then it doesn't stop existing. You can work towards minimizing racism or choose to not do it. But you can't force other people in discussion about if their experiences are real.

    I see the basic validity of a position like hers. I mean : I KNOW that there is no “structural racism” in the UK. Saying that there is flies in the face of everything I KNOW to be true. So I have decided not to waste any of my energy in future talking to Black people about racism in the UK. OK?

    • @JoeWolsing
      @JoeWolsing Před 2 lety +1

      White people don't waste their energy debating the topic with Black people for centuries anyway. So no, not o.k.
      Trying to keep the highness of Interpretation because a closet full of skeletons is uncomfortable is not o.k. trying to keep privileges and feeling that being stripped off of the is discrimination is not o.k. so well you're simply wrong with your conclusion. Just reversing hers doesn't make you right.

      "In order to dismantle unjust, racist structures, we must see race. We must see who benefits from their race, who is disproportionately impacted by negative stereotypes about their race, and to who power and privilege is bestowed upon - earned or not - because of their race, their class, and their gender. Seeing race is essential to changing the system."

Let them do them and you do you and NEVER the two shall meet. It is time wasting & energy draining, so why bother. We already know the outcome!

      @Golden Knight And people say that the left over-use the term "racist". Clearly, you need to find a new word, I don't think it means what you think it means.

    • @Ray-uk3um
      @Ray-uk3um Před 4 lety

      @Golden Knight Speaking out against inequality doesn't make you racist. It never has and it never will and the definition is the same as it always has been. Fascism is a right-wing ideology whereas Marxism is the polar opposite. It's oxymoronic to claim leftists are both.

    • @Ray-uk3um
      @Ray-uk3um Před 4 lety

      @Golden KnightThe definition of racism by sociologists and scholars has always been from a societal perspective. This definition has become mainstream due to it's relevance. It's impossible for the left to have control on speech considering the conservative government has been in power since 2010, institutions and the media also have a blatant right-wing bias. People on the right complain about being controlled by the left whilst projecting these thoughts on mainstream news outlets. It's ridiculous.

    • @Ray-uk3um
      @Ray-uk3um Před 4 lety

      @Golden Knight Surely if the most educated within modern societies all over the world are overwhelmingly "leftists", it should tell you something about right-wing ideals and how immoral they are towards the working class and society at large.

    • @Ray-uk3um
      @Ray-uk3um Před 4 lety

      @Golden Knight Interesting how you don't consider race to be a societal, power issue, considering even Irish people were severely mistreated, for being "not quite white". This idea and feeling doesn't just dissipate into thin air, it's been transferred.
