Being laid off is undoubtedly tough, especially in a field like 3D art where there's often a strong personal investment in the work. Finally, I got this, It's okay to feel a range of emotions-frustration, disappointment, even a bit lost. But remember, it's not a reflection of your talent or worth. Sometimes, it's just the nature of the industry or the company's circumstances. Take the time to process your feelings, but also know that this could lead to new opportunities and growth. Keep honing your skills, stay connected with your network, and be open to new possibilities. You've got this!

Completely agree. Layoffs are rarely about the talent or competence of the individual. Don't let them dictate how you value yourself.

My son is studying Animation/Film
As a mother I want to be a supportive parent, but also realistically Animation is not a high demand as someone in the medical field. 😊😢

My pleasure!! And yes…the medical field is more stable but deals with a lot of this too. Lots of private equity buying hospitals and medical centers and squeezing out staff for more profits. What a time to be alive!!! :)

hey - as a mother, you gotta let them fly their own path. Their career is not your decision. I've been in the industry for 15 years now.. there are rough patches.

Just got notice today. Not my first rodeo, not my last. You prepare for it in the good times, and there are good times. And there can be better times. Being laid off doesn't have to be the end.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I know it happens but it stinks every time. Hopefully this is just the start of something amazing!
