An education video on Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry from the Royal Society of Chemistry. From the Modern Instrumental Techniques for schools and colleges DVD. (C) Royal Society of Chemistry
O-H bond in acids absorbs infra-red between the wavenumber 2500 and 3000. O-H bond in alcohols absorbs infra-red between the wavenumber of 3230 and 3350. They used benzoic acid so it isn't a mistake:)
ATR gives low in energy and it doesn't go straight through the sample. So it should mentioned that the carboxylic acid peak is lower in signal due to low in energy by using the ATR technique.
what kind of solution has IR emission in 900nm? im looking for kind of material that be detectable by infrared cameras, can you help me please.i found calcium iodide and some other but im not sure!

I don't think this will make a major difference. If you want to clearly differentiate between the two, I guess that "spectroscopy" deals with the wider theory base of how IR radiation interacts with matter, whereas "spectrometry" is associated with using the instrument (a spectrometer) to record those interactions in a way which reveals qualitative information about the matter. Don't worry about it.
seriously i don't know where I'd be without youtube THANK YOU

Brilliant video, really helped me to understand what im writing my report about!! Proper Job!!!
Great work!!!
Thanks a lot for all your videos...
This is VERY helpful! Great job!
very very helpful video. thank you very much. we look forward for such videos from society.
Thank you so much! This was so helpful!
this was so helpful! thankyou!
Just **o** awsome video ! thankyu~~ :D
great video guys really helped me out
Nice video, confirmed my ideas, thanks a lot.
It will help us a lot, we have to make a model of this, Thanks very much!!
Very nice amazing. .thnx a lot
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
Excellent. Thank you very much! I can finally understand a bit what the heck I am reading
5/5
Understood the essential aspects of IR spectroscopy. Thanks
It helps in learning and understanding :-) thnku
excellent... Thanks!!!

what is the difference between spectroscopy and spectrometry?, the video says one and has the other in the title
excelent video.
Awesome, I have to do a 1000 word essay on this :P
Can IR be done on gaseous samples?
Very good thank you very much
what is the software they use
The video is very helpful, thank you very much, but try watching the video without voice and only subtitles. tell me what you read :p
Thank you

superb
how i download it? (nervous)
thankyou very much
what is the name of the book with spectroscopy data tables used in the video?
thanks a lot
thanx soo much
its quite gud to learn about it
tell me something of near ,mead and far ir spectroscopy rajedrakumar and all viwer send me on my email add
Bouncy springs!

the alkanes are one of the hardest function groups to spot inthe spectrum.
good information
i like this
ionic bonds won't show up on the IR spectra
nice.....
wonderedfull
Best
That's fair
wondered full
Nice video, but quite limited in the information it provides.
why do i see Chinese everywhere
lol
To tell the truth....I dont understand ; U ;
Fairly rudimental and I didn't like the person controlling the machine.
