Royal Society Of Chemistry
United Kingdom
Registrace 31. 07. 2008
We are a catalyst for the minds that are shaping chemistry’s future.
The Royal Society of Chemistry is an international, non-profit organisation that connects chemical scientists with each other, with other scientists, and with society as a whole.
Founded in 1841 and based in London, we have an international membership of 50,000 and a respected publishing and knowledge business. We use our surplus to give thousands of chemical scientists the support and resources they need to make vital advances in chemical knowledge.

Geoff Rayner Canham: 12 Women Chemists
Geoff Rayner-Canham gives a talk entitled “12 Pioneering Women Chemists you Should Know About: But Probably Don’t”. This talk was presented on 18 June 2024.
More and more of the ‘forgotten’ women chemists in HERstory have come to light in recent years. So many women chemists who should have received widespread recognition. There have been books on women chemists who should have won Nobel prizes; who contributed to Periodic Table discoveries; and of course, our own research and subsequent books on British women chemists. What we want to focus upon in this PowerPoint presentation is the diversity of contributions that women chemists have made.

Catherine Jackson gives a talk entitled “Making Molecular World: Building a Practice-based Account of Modern Chemistry”. This talk was presented on 21 May 2024. According to existing histories, theory drove chemistry's remarkable nineteenth-century development. This talk shows instead how novel experimental approaches combined with what I’ve called “laboratory reasoning” enabled chemists to bri...

This would be great at a kid's birthday party!
I tried this 2 weeks ago with a new polymer £10 note with 70% Isopropyl alcohol. The note did not catch fire, but one end started to melt and curl inwards. Now I'm hoping I can swap it for another one at the bank.
Neon light bulb manufacturer had the most . up in kunia mountain had proof of paint contain phosphorous everywhere in walls and cars
Some strange kind of cloud detected few days back while flyimg suspected to contain phosphorous as one of content
How to access the peer review process for any of your published articles? I have tried on your journal website but in vain.
Wow
Her voice makes me expect her any minute to start talking about the doctor and the Tardis.
Was the title click bait?
Aw. I wanted to see what it looked like when it was done burning.
Good
Nice long wave ❤
Freshly prepared NG isnt very sensitive, even if thoroughly washed and dried it isnt stupidly sensitive. The stuff burns with a torch like blue flame if you light small amounts. Indirect heat or sudden violent heating explode it easily though. Some organic peroxides are movie nitro sensive for real
Congratulations venky 🎉
This discussion is so important these days, so glad that a society of chemistry is talking about it. Keep going! 🙌
Bless you the BOC and thanks for your explanation and teaching
Congratulations 👏
😃🎉
Congratulations 🎉 And Good information Brother
"hey 8 billion humans, so errr we did a trial on 0.0005% of you (43'000) and well based on 170 people from that 0.0005% "testing positive".....we're telling you our crap is 95% effective, TAKE IT NOW OR LOSE YOUR JOB" Nobody trusts you liars anymore.
I thought your commitment was to science, apparently not biology with your logo swap.
Well imagine buying a children's encyclopedia, scanning a code for my kids to see more, and seeing my old chemistry lecturer from 2007! I recognised him instantly.
I just watched this video thinking I was gonna get something new😂 this is the same as an acetylene torch 💀
Hope Wtitten on the "non burning paper" is kinda clever xD
I taught combustion last week, I wish this video came out last week! Still, never too late for a good demo! Thank you Declan, you’re full of good ideas!
😢
This is excellent lobbying!
Hello, Professor, can you help me by asking questions about the Métal organic framework, because my memorandum talks about this topic , thanks
Wow, wasn't expecting the music to go that hard
Woah this is amazing of precipitation sound
Yo Royal Society, this meme slaps ngl 🔥
One day certain RNA jabs will take the place of the word 'lead' here as the scientific literature is slowly revealing.
did they really call teflon pans "forever pan"?
what's with the "centimeters cubed"? just say ml, ffs.
Luv u
Luv video 😤
Never freaking knew flour could burn, waoza!
Where can I get this
God could concentrate gases in different ratio in atmosphere by use of sun heat , moon coldness etc for example O2 that would result a natural disaster by its ignition through sun heat . Human are interfering a lot into God's boundaries for example trying to near with a human even from main artery of neck etc
in this video
" so , i'm gonna just heat this sodium azide ...." BANG! video goes black and ends
the only thing i learnt during chemistry classes: if there is computer science involved, its bound to be a pain in the ass
I really like the chemistry applications approach. Frequent, smaller labs that are tied into teaching the theory. Edit: Josey Bass has a great hands-on, application-style chemistry book.
I had a chem prof who had my favorite teaching policy: “I can’t promise you’ll understand the course concepts. I can’t tell you that this material will apply to your future. What I can do is tell you that every class you show up to will contain at least one explosion or reasonable facsimile.” It was glorious.
I have exam tomorrow 😊
What a thrilling talk
Wondering what that really strong tape is that you demonstrated 🤔
I love that Catherine Wheel! I haven’t seen one like that since I was a young boy in the late 80s.
so cool
Thank you so much this beautiful identifying experiments.
