This guy is one of the most underrated restoration CZcams channels but I love how he uses no music and does not talk that way his voice does not get annoying
Just "new", he grow really fast.
Only time I enjoy music on workshop videos is how Alec Steele (blacksmith) does it, he does the drop(?) (idk the correct term) in time with the hammer or ect and makes sure it can still be heard
Batman working his hobby on an off day.
832 k subscribers.....definitely not under-rated, his skill speaks for itself.
100% agree. I love the expert level restoration, combined with the silent restorer. Let the work speak for itself.
I like to think of these in the Toy Story universe and how excited the toys would feel to be new again
Take my like
After all the torture of restoration lol
@@jio5680 it's probably like a surgery or a dentist appointment to them most likely, I mean Woody didn't really felt any pain gettinf his arm literally ripped off from him as well as getting it stitched back onto him
Did u ever heard about the theseus ship paradox?
@@lordcib what is this paradox? I wanna know it
Thank you for these videos. I have very high anxiety, and whenever I feel a panic attack coming on, I pull up your videos. Watching them always calms me down and usually helps to keep the attacks at least very minor. My husband noticed, and he will even send me them on occasion, just to make sure that I am okay. So, again. Thank you. You have no idea just how wonderful these videos are. 💖💖💖
Killing it with the close ups of the powder paint coating the pieces. My favorite part to watch after the sandblasting ♥️
Stories by Irish : I didn’t even know I liked powder paint being sprayed until he slowed it down. Whoah, magical.

He'll make it look much better than
It ever did before!!
Might want to add 'better'. Cool version though!
@@StaxRail haha didn't realise I missed "better" - thanks
Well done, sir!
Wonderful!
Who else watches these to help them sleep?
i should be sleeping so its the other way around
ive got a big slice of key lime pie on my desk. well somehow or the other i keep nodding off and i get pie in my face. trying to eat it but i keep passing out. so yeah these vids do help you to go to sleep. no offense to the creator, it is a great video, its just 3:00 am and i really should be in the bed.
Anne Stahlman ASMR RESTORATIONS
🙋
Anne Stahlman His videos are so relaxing and satisfying!
R&R: *pulls out lead test*
Us: "Oooooh..."
R&R: "Lead test positive"
Us: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
When he swipes the lead with the card, it’s satisfying but gross 😫
What does it mean when it test positive?
@@alexanderortega7754 it means the old paint contains lead, which is very poisonous if you breathe it, so he can't just go with the sandblast 1st, that's why he uses a paint remover and then sandblast.
@@inky_69420 it’s my least favorite part 🤢🤢
@@huracan200173 ah the 1900s when the US gave literally 0 fucks about any kind of safety and just made toys with sharp metal edges, Urianium, painted with led, and made elastic and shooting toys with literally 0 safety features.
Thank you for demonstrating lead paint safety! It’s a small thing that could make a huge difference for a young, unsuspecting viewer.
I love the recent little additions to the videos, the dramatic zooms and cool angles, you're really making it your own and it's awesome to watch you grow and try new things!
R&R : “so I’ll make a new one!”
Me : *has My Mechanics flashbacks*
Sarah sc I came here with the intention of expressing a similar sentiment.

With all those tools it wouldn't surprise me if R&R could build a real battleship in his workshop🙂

**panics in V8 engine**
Me, watching the paint flake off, the struggle with the tabs, the messy goop of the paint peel, the sheer amount of work to be done: Gee, is it even worth the trouble?
Me, in tears, seeing the final result: IT’S SO SHINY AND PRETTY AND I APOLOGIZE FOR DOUBTING!!
I personally think the work is the enjoyable part, the end result is just a bonus haha
Every woman i know says the same thing….but most don’t usually apologize….thank you
@@mikek4610dude… did you mean ”what I think every woman says”
Leaded paint no less. This one is dangerous as well. Much to learn and enjoy in these videos for sure!
See I’m watching that and I’m like “oh see that that’s defiantly all lead paint and lead based metals
Your restoration skills are so far ahead of any other restorer of these kinds of objects on CZcams it's not even fair. Some get one part or the other right but you fabricating that missing deck gun with no fear was sublime. If I could subscribe more than once to help ypur channel grow, I would. Carry on mate!
One cannon is missing.
Me: Scratch this project.
R&R: I'll make a new one.
Mike Thomas rescue and restore. Now with fettling!
My mechanics is the OG of make a new one.
I've never seen My Mechanics. I'll check it out.
Vintage Electric Oven is still my favourite, but this one is a close second. WOW! Spectacular work and transformation.
Me too!! Ugh just thinking about it 🙂
Man I hope you come back with more. Anytime I need to put my kids to sleep, I watch this with them. They find it so relaxing. Good work!!
Good news: new R&R video.
Bad news: we have to wait 3 weeks to get another one.
Great video as always dude. Keep doing this awesome work.
Toni Salazar ....oh but it will be worth it! The hours upon hours he spends on each is amazing! He is all about quality, not quantity thats for sure and it shows!
Toni Salazar it’s ok though. We all understand that he has a job and a life and that’s what I love about these smaller channels. I love that this is just a hobby and CZcams isn’t their life. When ur is the videos seem to always just become too much if you know what I mean? I don’t mind the wait🤷♀️😁

And over a month later still waiting for a new video to drop...
I noticed you put more effort into the filming and editing this time. With all the cool close-ups and slow motion. Good job as always!
R&R isn't just a craftsman, he's a Time Lord! Reversing time to make these toys new again. Just found these thanks to my Star Wars recommended feed, I'm digging these old toys also! typo, it's early...
this is my kind of ASMR, not just a bunch of tapping, clicking and crunching noises...someone doing something productive without using a bunch of extra music or sound, just good ol' restoration at it's finest
"I'll make a new one" - Sounds familiar lol
My Mechanics says " I make a new one" not ill...
@@LambeauLeeeper He used to say "I make new one"...
Yeah, but never for cannons though!
That intro was pure fantasy. Artisan and filmmaker.
I love that you don't talk and there is no music. Peaceful!!
P.S. As a retired body and paint man... I appreciate that you use sand blasters and powder coat. I've seen channels where they use sandpaper and spray bombs and NEVER look as QUALITY as yours. Great Job and thanks for the Entertainment!
So, what's your view on sand blaster vs. laser cleaning?
"I'll make a new one."

Gosh, love it when you take the time for all the little details so that even the colors are restored as what they once looked like !
I keep stumbling across your vids on CZcams, I think, sure I'll watch this thumbnail for 10 seconds, a few hours and several videos later, it's no longer on my phone and instead I'm hammering back a pot of tea on the sofa and binge watching this! Haha. Very good videos, I really appreciate your quiet style as well, makes these as therapeutic as they are interesting. Keep up the great work.
You are SO sure handed with tape, and decals. It blows me away! I can't even get an address label straight on an envelope!

ur gonna have to teach im how to slam ur face into the blast cabinet lol
Your "Maytag" restoration was beyond awesome....nice work!
...they hatin

I love how all of the sandblasting is shown. It seems that most of the other restorers will show the very beginning and cut to the end.
I legit got depressed when I thought he wasn't going to sandbast.
Well you have to get the lead paint off first or you know potential bad things come from it. But yes it’s very worry some thinking that he would sand blast

I'm so glad you have a legit setup for painting. It drives me nuts when others use spray paint to restore items. Great channel and thanks for sharing :)

@@CARATMom I know what you mean. My Mechanics spoiled me; I almost can't watch any other restoration channels, but R&R is high level. I could watch this all day. I just discovered him recently and am binging now.
Great job! Of all restorers I've seen on CZcams, it's you who by far has the most keen eye for details and perfection.
Your videos are the best among other similar channels, please consider uploading more frequently
That turned out gorgeous! Great job!
I will never tire of this process. It is my favorite to watch!
One of the most beautiful restorations that I have ever seen. You are a true master of your craft. Truly amazing.
Hi yea I'm just writing to complain that I have not gotten any work done around the house cause I've done nothing but binged watch your channel lol!!!
Without any sort of context, it looks like you're just painting the pieces when sandblasting. Knowing you're sandblasting them makes it so much more satisfying to watch. Great job! Love these videos!
Hey your not the "I make a new one" guy, you're the powder coating guy. You are also one half of the two best restoration channels on CZcams. Amazing work!
Literally half of the restoration channels just rip the item anew
Some just go the extra 400 miles to give it the “hey look tree roots for an axe handle” look
It’s annoying
Just stay true to the original
The sandblasting is always my favorite part. It’s so satisfying!
I just love these because I love the feeling of
Keeping history alive. This isn’t just some old junky toy to throw away. This is history. ❤️❤️ keep up the good work.
I’m so thankful there’s no music ❤️ Thanks for the great videos
Glad to see a new video! I was blown away by how you managed to align the golden/red lines on the side panels.
Another beautiful result. Well done. 😊
First off, that opening? Clever af my dude.
I also love the slo mo shots you got, those were really interesting and it was cool to see how the vibrating polisher kinda spins the abrasive material around. And my god, that slo mo billowing power paint was captivating!
And, as always with your videos, I’ve never been so excited to watch paint dry. XD
RR videos are probably one of the few I watch at normal speed and don't fast forward.
Reverse painting/Anti Painting never gets old with sandblasting. So satisfying.
I absolutely love when a new R&R video drops. Totally makes my day 😁 I can’t wait to see what’s next 😁 Another home run 🍻
Him: *Restored a 100 year old antique*
Me: *Can't glue a toy together*
We've all been there at one point lol
I feel as if everything is ok with the world when I see time being reversed here. What a splendid result! There are 999 people who disliked this video? How? New toy retailers???
Probably both
Ahh yes, when the dislike button still showed numbers
Some people think repainting/replacement parts on antiques is a travesty. I dont subscribe to it but I do admit I saw an Apollo command module that was retrieved from the ocean and totally restored to like new and was disappointed. I would rather see the bumps/bruises of something historical. A toy boat? Have at it. But not everyone thinks the same and that is OK.
@@fireygaby there are Browser extensions, which allow you to see the dislikes again. :)

this is the best restoration channel, sadly, is very underrated
Yes it is very underrated
I see this vice 12:42 and think, "he needs to do a little labor trading with my mechanics". They both do exemplary work.🤩
Hey R&R,
I was watching another restoration channel and after he made a couple of mistakes (in my opinion), I searched for something better! You’re the MAN! And I love all the toys (tools) in your workshop! 👍🏼
Best Restoration channel on CZcams! I love your attention to detail and dedication to making the pieces look as they would have right off the assembly line. The artistry that goes into these... Especially when the paint work isn't simple, or missing parts have to be fabricated... So satisfying, and so amazing!
Fantastic! I am officially hooked on these wonderful, restoration projects. And this is the first powder coating processes I have personally seen done. This is addictive!

I'm going to be controversial here and say that the original cannon is so perfect compared to the new one. They really did their bit back then.
@@deadloader1922 Well one was made in a factory with specialty tools and the other was made in a garage by a guy with a hammer. It's hard to replicate the original tooling look

Torn over leaving as is or restoring. The patina on that piece was incredible.
waaaaww !!! that's what I call "a good job"... a very professionnal restoration
over the top restorations ,,, I LOVE IT , this gentleman and MyMechanics are the two best resto people on the youtube hands down !!! and they both ,, Make New Ones !!!! does it get any better !!
That is one of the COOLEST toys ever lol
Always happy to see more of this!
Making this ship new and shiny makes me realize why kids love toys of any make! You really are a master of your craft and I do love your videos. Keep on!
Your videos always fascinate me! Every time you bring in a piece so badly battered and corroded and looking like it’s beyond repair and I’m thinking, “There’s no way he’s gonna be able to restore THAT!” and, “How on EARTH is he going to be able to restore THAT?” and you always amaze me! I love watching the sandblasting too, but just as much I love to watch the powdered painting and the curing of the powered paint just to see what color it’s going to be! I also love to watch you meticulously take apart every little piece, clean it, blast it, remove the rust and paint, powder paint it, cure it, grind it, build new pieces, nickel plate it, make new stickers and put them on, and put everything back together again! It’s so fascinating seeing the inner workings of these antiques and collectibles! Wonderful videos!
damn I wish this guy uploaded weekly, I can't get enough of these vids!
One day when I'm old and forgotten I want to retire as one of these rusted toys and be restored by this guy. Great job on the videos I really love how simple yet intriguing they are
Sandblasting is the most satisfying part of these videos!! Love it!!
I am surprised that the temperature in the paint curing oven doesn't make a goopy hard-to-remove mess out of the adhesive on the masking tape! Love your videos: I could watch them all day and night!
Old toys are pieces of art, where craftmanship and quality were still valued, compared to (mostly) plastic and rushed-made toys today.
Wow - that's an incredible transformation! Amazing.
In our throwaway society it is so nice to see someone like yourself take the time (and care) to restore things. I love your attention to detail and the obvious passion you have for what you do. I know it’s work on your part but it’s very relaxing to me to watch you.☺️👍 Your work is top notch!
You know he’s good when he can create a copy of something that’s 99% perfect just from looking and measuring with basic tools
This toy is so old it was still made in America lol.
neoasura lmaoooo
I get it lol
But I couldn't, need to see it finished 😁
@The Grim Reaper out of curiosity : are you being sarcastic?
@The Grim Reaper no, not stupid, but depending on were one stands regarding guns, that could have been sarcasm. And outside of the US, making weapons is usually not Something to brag about. Were I come from, the government tries to downplay how many weapons we produce, so I actually could not be sure if you meant it like you wrote it.
So no, not stupid, just from a different continent.
Also made in America Budweiser beer. ...
Crayola crayons. ...
Harley-Davidson motorcycles. ...
Hershey chocolate. ...
Jack Daniel's whiskey. ...
Im from the UK and guns are known about people do own them and yes we have an armed police service
There just not as popular here.
This is better than any asmr I’ve ever watched
Your attention to detail in
restoring this is amazing!
Well done.
you did a beautiful job of restoring that and replacing the toxic paint with a beautiful, glossy paint which - if some child started biting the toy - wouldn't cause any harm. It looks like something I would have loved to get for Christmas
This guy is so calm and it’s so safying
All these skills, equipment, and experience are amazing. I'm at a loss for words.
I’m glad that you tried to keep the original paint scheme, cause a lot of other channels would do different ones, taking away the toy’s authenticity and charm.
We love chilling out to your videos with a nice cup of tea! So awesome to watch your process!!!
The way he like breakers it apart is so cool and nice to watch and the way he seems to care for them it’s so nice to watch
if they raised the titanic, dude could legit restore it with some wd-40 and sand blasting. maybe a little nickel plating.
titanic is huge

43 peeps recognize hyperbole and appreciate it. then we have dumb and dumber.
Looks brand new for a 100 years old replica battleship. Awesome!
You are an absolute magician! Can't imagine somebody older watching their childhood toy come to life. Truly remarkable to watch a toy from the 1920s spring to life as if fresh off the assembly line 🙂
I wish that he was able to upload more often cause I love these videos Expresly when he does a car one
That also could have been amazing with just the paint removed, the oil-stain patina looked great on the old tin, but amazing work as always, do love that you powder coat these, and not using cheap rattle cans on them. Classic craftsmanship like this deserves more respect than a 4.98 can of spray paint from the local mega mart.
HOW can there be so many people that dislike this? I think it is brilliant!
For the Star Wars toys I can see why people would get in a tizzy (even though they shouldn't)... still boggles my mind.
"I'll make a new one". You are just too cool. Great job!!
This guy is insanely good at what he does, he makes it look so easy
So when the lead test is positive do you just be more careful in the sandblaster and wear gloves the whole time?
Yes because lead is poisonous that is why they stopped using it in pencils because if someone bit it the. They would die of lead poisoning
Random Gaming Channel pencils use graphite.
and hold your breath :)
