Very nice, it is always nice to see someone spread the knowledge on to take care of one’s equipment, plus it makes one feel better about themselves and their horns

Flitz is amazing. Not just for metal, but for vulcanized rubber, acrylic, and any hard material that has experienced oxidation or discoloration.

Nice job. I use PlastX. It's meant for plastic, and so it's extremely gentle and won't thin the brass. I also use it on my eyeglass lenses. The Flitz liquid is fine though. The Flitz paste is a bit abrasive.

Quick question, did you oil the brass after using the brass polish? Recently got a beautiful old trumpet. I've used Flitz brass polish, just never tried to freshen up a horn with it

I have a few raw brass horns and I've noticed that all of them smell of raw brass very strongly. Is this with all raw brass horns or just older ones?

Does removing the laquer make the tone improve?

Hagerty silver polish was recommended to me…. It's not harsh and works well.

Cool, but what about protecting it afterwards, and trying to let the polished look stay a bit longer? Renaissance wax?

I have used the wax you mention on raw brass. It worked very well for me. After cleaning, I would use a clean cloth and apply a small amount of the wax and rub it in. Allow to dry then lightly buff to bring back shine. Wax is not cheap, but does the job.

A silicone gun cloth works well.

I'm sure it would if you have an unlacquered saxophone, though you may want to talk to a saxophone expert in case there are some differences in the approach.
