How Not To Write A Song!

Help! Is this really how to write a guitar-based rock song? I haven't done this for over 30 years and I'm a little rusty & out of practice. Plus, I've never really done it alone.
I've also made it harder for myself, by making it easier (to play) for you! I've decided that I can only use the riffs I've published in my 'Guitar Riffs for Beginners' shorts series. This means that the 'backbone' of the song should be easy for anyone to play. But, can I make a decent sounding song out of such constraints? You decide.
This won't be the song's final form. I already have an idea on how to experiment with the chorus to keep it in the same key (A major) as the rest of the song. Watch out for the next episode in this series in the coming weeks.

At the end of 2020 I was challenged to record a cover version of "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes on my guitar. The challenger said that if I recorded it then they would record themselves singing over it.
