    Your bikes looks fantastic! My first Gold Wing was a new burgundy 84 GL1200 Interstate. Just a base model. Next was a new 94 GL1500 LE two tone white/gray exactly like yours. This bike I installed those same Rivco air horns. Very nice. I’ve always appreciated the backlit handlebar switches for night riding. The 18+ Gold Wings are amazing and have an automotive decibel level horn, eliminating the need for the air horn.

I’m also REALLY hoping you do not sell your 2000 GL1500 anytime soon so I can continue to see your content on the bike. I’d be sad to hear of you selling yours and getting a 5th or 6th gen, although I wouldn’t blame you.

    I noticed you have different case guards your highway pegs are attached to. Mine is a '97 and the bars curve out in the back making it hard to even reach the pegs let alone use them comfortably. Do you know if other GW bars will fit or of good aftermarket bars?

    • @GoldwingDocs
      @GoldwingDocs  Před 2 lety +1

      They changed the style of those bars in 1998. Either will fit, so if you can find a set of the new style case guards, they will bolt in place of your older style ones.

    Wow..... as a gadget guy and a lighting/lights guy.... just wow... need more lights lol...but a freaking bike computer.... you have to be running at least 2 aux ports...one for sat and one for "aux" AND ported sat audio into intercom...
    Sooooooooo much to take in and sooo much done to do that!

    • @ScottsSynthStuff
      @ScottsSynthStuff Před 4 lety +1

      Yes - I figured as long as I was wiring an Aux port into the radio (with a relay switch controlled by the Bike PC) I might as well add a second one as well, giving me two switchable AUX ports instead of just one. I also built a ground loop isolator into my aux port interface, to avoid any noise getting in from misbehaving audio sources.

    wow! I have the same bike with no mods. I feel like it already has enough buttons. LOL That GPS thing is pretty cool though, I mean, I am not a Phone person, never had one/ so I have an atlas in the side compartment.
    My left control buttons are sticking, I cannot seem to get my emergency lights to go off all the way. I get tit to 1 blinker and then it goes back to full emergency. I starting to think moisture in there is causing it. I have not found a resolution yet though. You said this bikes a 2000 Model. Mine is a 99 50th anniversary, I wonder if yours is just a late in the year bike and is really 1999. I mean 2000 is 51 years.

    • @GoldwingDocs
      @GoldwingDocs  Před 2 lety +2

      Those sticky buttons are usually caused by the lubricating grease Honda had put in there during manufacture. It solidifies with age, and causes the mechanisms to not work correctly. Spraying it out with a plastic-safe solvent is the best (easiest) fix.
