The fact that Bill Burr was capable of making an interviewer go to therapy has to be one of the greatest accomplishments in a comedians career. Kudos Mr. Burr.

Eithan was lucky, bill new he was fresh blood in the water, he legit took it so easy on him, imagine. Bill grew with Patrice, imagine if Patrice was on the pod, either would have needed more than therapy.. that's all I'm saying
The way Ethan unconsciously operates in his confessed neuroticism does not match Bill's natural ability for calling out BS. Doesn't matter when this interview may have occurred, this was going to be the result.
I'm not sure why anyone goes on his podcast. Ethan's whole shtick is that he tries to bait his guests into saying something so he can insult them and make himself look morally superior/intelligent. You just have to sit there and listen to Ethan rant and give his boring opinion on everything. Bill just understood what was happening and called him out, and Ethan being the man baby that he is couldn't handle it.
Shocker how Ethan will fight tooth and nail against anyone he disagrees with online without the possible consideration of being wrong but the moment someone who he holds respect for just points out the flaws in his behaviour or perspective he crumbles and reconsiders.
"You gush, you gush over your daughter. Not everyone gushes. Did your dad gush over you?" I thought that was weird for Ethan to say that back then, and now it's just depressing. He has two children and pays caregivers to be fulltime replacement parents. Hila isn't innocent, either. She has said on a podcast that she can't stand being at home with the kids. They don't want to be parents, yet they had two children, and will groan about it as if it was a burden that the universe dropped in their laps. Those children are going to grow up and eventually see clips of their own mother speaking of them as if their existence somehow hurt their parents deflective podcast and sweatshop labor clothing line.
I think they resent the fact that without birth control, you get birth. Given how big lefties they are, you'd think they would have had the balls to walk their talk and just get an abortion to save themselves the trouble of trying to figure out how to raise kids despite being little more than adult-sized children themselves.

I use to like Ethan way back when he was in Israel. But Ive hated him for a long while now. But as a *huge* Bill Burr fan I got to say that _(especially in Theo's case)_ Bill was being rude for no good reason. I think Bill can be mean for no reason whatsoever - or sometimes no _good_ reason. Theo did not deserve how Bill acted, I don't think Ethan deserved it either although Ethan kinda had something like that coming. I mean it's a bit cathartic for me. But Bill shouldn't have been so stone-walled to someone who looked up to him and didn't do anything to attack Bill. That's my 2 cents and it's just an opinion. And this is from a MASSIVE Bill Burr fan. *Edit:* _When ever I typed "Theo's" it autocorrected to "the is". The autocorrect is more of a nuisance than it is helpful, but I'm too lazy to go to the settings and turn it off._
@The Corre you must've found out about Ethan and the H3H3 channel after he blew up. It seems like you wasn't an early fan from your comment. Most people subscribed after the vape nation video started trending. That was the biggest video he did BY FAR at that time. I remember being proud he had a video finally break 1mil views. I was a fan when H3H3 was a small channel. Ethan and Hila was just dating and lived in Israel. You could hear bombs exploding in some of their reaction videos from that time. Anyways, back then Ethan was not an extreme leftist with horrible takes like he is now. I'm Left leaning btw, so I'm not being politically biased when I stress how radical his views are now. When he was starting out and through his golden age of online content Ethan was not afraid of pushing boundaries in his comedy and had somewhat sensible takes on social and political issues. A lot of videos are deleted and can only be found by mirrors/reuploads of him ranting against the extreme Left AND extreme Right. But only the former was removed from his main channel. Like you, I can't stand Ethan anymore. I haven't even watched a video from him since he started his podcast. But I don't wish harm on him and I feel bad for all he's going through. That moment at 8:10 when Ethan takes the conversation from Bills daughter doing MMA, to Bills concern about his 2 year old getting S.A.'ed is one of the most uncomfortable moments ive ever seen.
There was a local morning radio show here in Los Angeles on KROQ called “Kevin and Bean” and they had Bill Burr on one time. The host Bean is an outstanding interviewer, and he would often make remarks to the guests and almost guilt them into answering by making himself out to be the victim. Bill Burr was having none of it during his interview and called him out on his interview tactics during this interview. Bean tried another similar angle and Bill kept calling out his tactics and made Bean basically question his entire career during this interview. It was legendary and talked about by the morning crew for years after. This was a man with 30 years radio experience who was shamed into silence. Ethan never stood a chance against Bill.

The interesting thing about this is that Bill was as normal here as I've ever seen him and I've probably watched everything he's ever done. There's a range of interview responses with Bill but there's nothing in this interview that made me legitimately uncomfortable, or makes me think Bill was actually uncomfortable at any point. If I recall correctly, Bill even said he thought it went fine and he seemed to understand that Ethan was new at this whole endeavor so afterward he understood why Ethan had the reaction he did. It made Ethan better for it, he took the necessary steps to work on himself and his craft, and it all turned out pretty well I think
If you listen to Bill he's trying to in a small way to get him to loosen up, but Ethan is steering farther in the wrong direction. The problem is Bill is not one of his buddies so he does the worst thing a straight interview. Also Bill is more annoyed by Ethan's assumptions about him, he's able laugh off most of the amateurish interviewing. Ethan's biggest mistake is assuming he has more in common with Bill only to have him basically say "nah, your more cynical and weird than me". Bill clearly saw a truly terrible interviewer, but not a terrible guy, which explains why he was on a second time. It also doesn't help that Ethan's awkward, guarded, and not comfortable not being the alpha in the room (when his wife was enjoying Bill more than him.....yep lol)
It's just nice that Ethan got humbled, big time. I always thought he had ego problems. And Bill is just a class act for reaching out to Ethan and wanting to do the podcast again.

Nothing will crack someone with insecurities faster than speaking to another person that just unapologetically knows how it is. We’re social creatures and healthy competitions force us to grow.
The biggest difference between Ethan and Bill, is that Ethan pretends to be edgy and Bill is just Bill. He doesn't have to try, he just is what he is and largely gives no shits. The sad thing is, at first you can tell Bill IS trying to pull some punches and give Ethan a little leeway but Ethan needs constant reassurance and goes nowhere with it and Bill was just not going to do it for him. Bill's actually not a bad guy and more self-aware than people give him credit for, and I doubt he'd intentionally push Ethan to a breaking point.
This is a very common thing for someone that battles insecurities and is hyper self aware. Not even knowing Ethan, I’m sure this is a very big moment for him. He set it up by making sure Bill knew he thought he was on a different level. To have not really mentioned being a huge fan or being nervous usually has a better result. Bill isn’t going to get upset that you aren’t idolizing him. I’m glad he got through it though.
Ethan’s pressuring of Bill to talk about his family wasn’t too bad, and it’s probably true that Bill wouldn’t have cared about it if Ethan just moved on after. But Ethan saying “geez” and getting all butthurt about Bill’s defense is what made it worse.
That would've been generally disrespectful to insist a guest talked about their family when they didn't want to, but on top of that, he kind of exposed Ethan as not being as big of a fan as he had stated/being kind of a kiss ass, as it is well known Bill doesn't talk about his family like that even on his own podcast.
Are you fucking kidding me? what decline are you talking about? I think h3 has one of the strongest most loyal fan bases on CZcams. And his show gets better every week.

Bill Burr is either the easiest person to interview or literally a nightmare depending on who you are. If you arent rough around the edges, you are going to be in for in for one hell of a ride.
The video with him and Snoop Dogg instantly bonding together is a good example of this. Two people from completely different backgrounds, but just know how to talk casually with each other.
Its crazy how internet works because this podcast being an absolute failure is actually one of the only memorable post OG h3h3 videos, so it becomes a huge win both in exposure and views, thats the whole reason why we are here.
The worst part of that interview and what turned me against Ethan was how pushy he was about bill talking about his family. Anyone who has listened to bill knows he is protective over his “civilian” family members including his family and children. Not everybody wants their entire life and family exposed to the internet and receiving backlash because of it. And Ethan was very pushy about it all
"Civillian family" Because bill's fighting in the trenches for our rights dammit! Tbh I think Ethan was crossing a line, but Bill went out of his way unnecessarily to be a prick and didn't come off any better. Bill basically talked to a retard, made of him to his face and went on. I can't fucking stand Ethan, but it's just painful watching him pick on a dude who basically was on his knees 5 minutes in, tapping out.
This situation and Idubbbz trying to "see the true Sam Hyde" give me the same vibe. It's like they expect something that was never agreed to and get frustrated when it doesn't happen.
You forgot to mention how ethan would bully his guests and enjoy the thrill of making fun of them in a subtle way that the guest wouldnt be able to discern the true circumstances. Bill buck broke him.
I genuinely like working with people like Bill, the thick skin you start to understand you’ve developed rears it’s head when they start saying some real fucked up shit to you and you just laugh it off. People like bill are toxic to be around. They will never stop pointing out every little thing you do so you start to fit into how they think you SHOULD be, You shouldnt laugh it off you should tell them to get fucked
That last comment when Bill said he was worried about Ethan was the worst man. The whole thing was uncomfortable, but damn Bill never worries about anyone, especially back then. I feel like he's calmed down a little bit in recent times.
Bill, like myself is from Massachusetts, and the way he talks is so normal here. We are harsh, but caring, so him being down on himself brought Bill to push him.
What people don’t seem to understand is that Ethan was always playing a caricature of himself. He always tried to play it off as if he was joking or being satirical about most things he talked about. And what happened when Bill came on the podcast is he had to be real. There was NO hiding, because people like Bill bring a certain reality to weak-minded people like Ethan, who put on the image as if he’s actually more intelligent than everyone else. It was literal ego death, that’s what everyone witnessed. Ethan sees and understands the world from a screen. He doesn’t actually know hardly anything about any subject. Ethan’s always had the ‘California/LA brain’ that’s extremely flawed and it relies on not only hypocrisies in one’s ideologies, but it’s constant flip-flopping in one’s views (and not the kind of flip flopping one does when they learn something new and realize they were wrong).
Just want to let you know that that isn't ego death, it's something completely different. Ego death typically happens with the aid of LSD/psilocybin and is a sensation where you forget who you are for a moment. I've experienced it before. It sounds scary but was surprisingly calming and joyful.
@@CrizzyEyes Sorry bruh, you still haven’t grasped it. I’ve done every psychedelic there is, and the first thing you should learn from it is that not everyone needs it in their life. Ego death can happen in an infinite amount of ways. It’s exactly what happened in the video. When fake people meet the realist people, the distortion they have created for themselves falls right in front of their own eyes, and there’s no more hiding.
Great job! I didn’t even know that Ethan wasn’t just a podcaster. You mentioned how he seemed like a child asking questions on career day. How is that any different from a large percentage of Rogans guests where Joe has no way to engage with the guest other than to use a similar tactic of basic questions that anyone would ask??
Bill is a natural at humbling people in a non malicious way and it throws the other person off guard and they don’t know how to react. I don’t think he’s even that negative when he goes on these rants in his own podcast. They’re just frustrations throughout his day that he vents out in a comedic way and chuckles about it after the fact. Probably why he does them on his own; he just doesn’t want to bring that negativity around other people. He’s like a roast comic that doesn’t have to try and instead of feeling insulted makes you feel disappointed in yourself; which is even worse lol
The thing that makes Bill Burr so hard for some people to interview is that he's completely okay with being uncomfortable. He came up with Patrice O'Neal. Compared to that, there's nothing that could shake Bill. He's fine being an a state of discomfort, but if you put him there, know he's taking you with him lol
Bill can read through it all. Ethan is just trying to impress Bill because Ethan wants to be liked and accepted by Bill. This is like trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. Ethan is too tense and in his head to make it go well
Rule 1 of interviews. Don't interrupt the guest. If a guest is open to the question and gives an good answer. Don't force it. Let the guest do the talking. It's a reason you have two ears but only one mouth. Listen twice the amount you speak. At least. As long as the interview flows without awkward silence. Let it get its own life.
I think this is great actually, it's the equivalent of most of us when we embarrass ourselves in front of some girl or guy that we like and we over think about what they think about us now, while they probably just thought, lol that was weird, and then never thought about it again. And how this overthinking can make the problem worse in the moment

Dude H3 used to he held in such a high regard by everybody. Now Ethan has fallen from grace, and I don't think he can come back. He showed his true colors, and made it obvious what he cares about. I guess he had no backbone to begin with.
everyone loved it, voice of reason everyone could agree on
What are you even talking aboout
I have yet to meet a real person who isn’t terminally online that liked the show
For all you youngin (under 20)
This is why you stay socializing with people. Ethan collapsed during this episode because he’s been cooped up for his whole life. Get out and meet people. Have conversations. Push yourself outside your comfort zone. You never know who you run into on the street
i’ve done this, dropped out of my study, now i live alone and just do nothing. starting studying in a new city tho, will do this, force myself out more!
Solid advice. Been around the block means you get to try better the 2nd and 3rd time around. Need to dribble the ball a shit ton of times before you can actually take a shot.
@@noelsarabia70 Absolutely man, until recently I couldn't say I went around the block at all because I just assumed I didn't need socialization and needed to talk to people. I believed I could be on my own with almost no interaction. Oh, how wrong I was. Also living with someone who pushed everyone away and never did anything with their lives is why I encourage people younger than me to get out of the house and connect with people. Yes a lot of people are stupid, idiots, etc. But don't stop *them* from *your* attempt to make a real connection with someone about something you both enjoy, like, or love
@@justgivenofox9543 I was antisocial for a long time and now in my early 30s I feel like I missed out on a lot. You know what I just recently realized too? As a male, it’s important to join a group, clan, team, etc. having other men hold you accountable and push you is a cheat code. Never be fitter, never been more willing to try new things and fail. We’re social creatures and healthy competitions force us to grow.
@@noelsarabia70 what type of group are you a part of or could you give me an idea ? 😅
"Im so neurotic"
Yes Ethan the whole internet has come to learn that.
Did Ethan never listen to Bill on old O&A? lmao Bill was so gentle during this interview
Bill had more chemistry with Hila than with Ethan. No wonder Ethan had to go to therapy lol
It was fun to see both Theo and Ethan discuss bill after their respective podcasts… like they were in therapy consoling each other 😂
Ethan is an absolute snake
Nah, snakes aren't obese
@@YOURDADSDILDO Snakes also get rid of pests. Ethan seems to attract them.

@@FukaiKokoro sounds like you're a pretty big fan of the show from the way you comment about it...
It was so hard finishing this video, I can’t imagine how bad the full podcast was
Theo and Ethan talking about their experience with Bill sounds like two Mortys talking about their Ricks.

Look at burr and Rick Glassman. Now tell me how rough glassman is.......
@kk12ienothing wrong with being soft?

Its crazy how internet works because this podcast being an absolute failure is actually one of the only memorable post OG h3h3 videos, so it becomes a huge win both in exposure and views, thats the whole reason why we are here.
Getting roasted by Bill is one of the greatest moments outside of getting into a roast battle with Harland Williams
The worst part of that interview and what turned me against Ethan was how pushy he was about bill talking about his family. Anyone who has listened to bill knows he is protective over his “civilian” family members including his family and children. Not everybody wants their entire life and family exposed to the internet and receiving backlash because of it. And Ethan was very pushy about it all
"Civillian family"
Because bill's fighting in the trenches for our rights dammit!
Is idubbbz the cuck youtuber ?
@@punishedbarca761 exactly!
And of course Ethan and Hila are very protective of their kids so he seems to have matured on that at least.
You forgot to mention how ethan would bully his guests and enjoy the thrill of making fun of them in a subtle way that the guest wouldnt be able to discern the true circumstances. Bill buck broke him.

THANK YOU! Nobody has addressed that.
Well said! 🙌🏽
Someone tag Ethan holy shit this is raw
Based
Just want to let you know that that isn't ego death, it's something completely different.
Bill said, ' you got that dog man.. you got something to live for..' hahahaha
The fact that his wife is laughing so hard when hes getting roasted is just rhe funniest thing

Ethan realised that online life thing isn’t real life. And that crashed his soul.
The way ypu framed it at the end was hilarious 😂

Bill is a natural at humbling people in a non malicious way and it throws the other person off guard and they don’t know how to react. I don’t think he’s even that negative when he goes on these rants in his own podcast. They’re just frustrations throughout his day that he vents out in a comedic way and chuckles about it after the fact. Probably why he does them on his own; he just doesn’t want to bring that negativity around other people. He’s like a roast comic that doesn’t have to try and instead of feeling insulted makes you feel disappointed in yourself; which is even worse lol
The only time I’ve seen it flipped around is bill on mike Tyson’s podcast lmao
The thing that makes Bill Burr so hard for some people to interview is that he's completely okay with being uncomfortable. He came up with Patrice O'Neal. Compared to that, there's nothing that could shake Bill. He's fine being an a state of discomfort, but if you put him there, know he's taking you with him lol
It's so crazy to hear Ethan actually admit he was wrong and not double down.
You don't see that anymore from him
He’s on drugs now
Bill can read through it all.
