When I first came across it, I binged a bunch of his videos once, and even if the topic was something that I wouldn’t normally be interested in, it was still interesting to listen to it.

Joe’s greatest skill is being able to voice many opinions, yet when it comes to a divisive topic where he might alienate someone or get attacked, he plays the “I’m just a dumb comedian” card and speaks in generalities that appease all sides. For someone who’s a deep thinker and has had many discussions with many guests, he surely has a firm opinion or belief on a controversial topic, yet he’s extraordinary careful to never state it. I've always found Joe to be a breath of fresh air specifically because he doesn't pretend to be an expert in every subject and is willing to admit when he's out of his areas of knowledge. This is unfortunately extremely rare on the Internet these days. Everyone seems to be an expert on damn near everything. It is so vitally important to have people around you who don't think the same as you because they will make you see issues in a different light. Yet one gets called left and the other right because if there's only 2 parties, one will be on each end of the spectrum when that spectrum only has room for 2 spots. The thing with extreme people's/parties views in my country, is both of them act out emotionally rather than look at facts. Whether that's left or right. But in the USA this is the case for both parties, albeit the Republicans are almost entirely emotionally based whilst democrats do often bring up facts in their reasoning. The thing is, it's impossible to discuss politics in the USA whilst bringing up facts, I honestly think most Americans can't differentiate between opinion and fact anymore. Every time a minor social policy is brought up it gets shut down completely, even when it has worked well in literally dozens of other Western countries over several decades. And the strange thing is, the average republican is pretty poor, so how could they vote for a party that does everything against their self interests? It's brainwashing, so impossible to really discuss things with them when the lies are imbedded so deeply. There's so much discussion about emotional stuff and facts it's just beyond belief. A big talking point is the multiple gender thing and transgender stuff, something that 99% of the population doesn't care about but they act like it's a huge deal. Another one are facts being debated for whatever reason. Things like global warming not existing, a government controlled healthcare being bad, the unwillingness to reinvest into infrastructure, acting like a wall stops immigration when the majority of immigrants got through via ship/plane, ... It's just laughable, you cannot argue with facts. I have no idea how a person can truly believe the lies from the Republican party unless they're immoral and simply push the agenda because they're rich and want to keep the poor in line and their taxes low. The USA desperately needs more political parties, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

I love your videos, but this one in particular. I had literally just gotten into Joe Rogan and this whacky JRE-verse right around the time that the Alex Jones Returns episode came out. Didn't even know who Joe was for real, had just seen a lot of stuff about him on reddit and eventually started watching clips on youtube before playing the full podcasts. So seeing it all contextualized like this is really neat.
It's not that Joe wanted to let the trial stuff blow over, Joe was being a good friend and wanted to protect Alex from himself. Alex would've got himself in some shit if he came on before or during his trial. It would've made it 2000% worse for his court proceedings. No questions asked.
Definitely remember when these came out, and the 1st one might as well have been a paid infomercial( very well could have been tbh..) on how amazing Twitter was with every question being as much of a softball as humanly possible. The second one was way better but still awful even with Tim Pool as a surrogate interviewer for a lot of the same reasons. I love your videos, but this one in particular. I had literally just gotten into Joe Rogan and this whacky JRE-verse right around the time that the Alex Jones Returns episode came out. Didn't even know who Joe was for real, had just seen a lot of stuff about him on reddit and eventually started watching clips on youtube before playing the full podcasts. So seeing it all contextualized like this is really neat.
It's not that Joe wanted to let the trial stuff blow over, Joe was being a good friend and wanted to protect Alex from himself.
Alex would've got himself in some shit if he came on before or during his trial. It would've made it 2000% worse for his court proceedings. No questions asked.

Definitely remember when these came out, and the 1st one might as well have been a paid infomercial( very well could have been tbh..) on how amazing Twitter was with every question being as much of a softball as humanly possible.
The second one was way better but still awful even with Tim Pool as a surrogate interviewer for a lot of the same reasons. I'm pretty sure Jack Dorsey definitely got a courtesy call warnig him that they would actually be asking at least semi real questions which is why he brought his P.R. lady/ verbal bodyguard to stonewall anyone asking anything remotely critical. It would be really cool if did a video on some of the Doug Stanhope episodes after talking about some of the worst ones could do a vid about one of the best guests/eps. I think I know what happened here. so people often fly in early to do the show and sometimes its mentioned "when we were out for dinner last night you told me that..." or they talk about a guest showing up early and playing pool or trying out the archery range. so im guessing its likely these two got a chance to talk beforehand and Joe realized "this guy has no idea what was going to happen when he did this, its too much for him and hes just trying to look like he knows whats up". For instance I listened to a postcast of the woman who created "incels". she created it to help a bunch of people at her school get together and talk about their lives. then she gets a girlfriend and moves on, next thing she knows 40.000 people are calling themselves incels. Or the proud boys started as a joke. This guy started something that got away from him and asking him hard questions would just show how not incontrol this guy is.
