Obi-Wan was, in fact, not the master of the high ground, but the low ground. Obi-Wan never shared this secret with anyone, including Anakin, in the case that anyone might find out. When Obi-Wan was fighting Darth Maul, he used the power of the low ground to defeat him. In Revenge of the Sith, Obi tricked Anakin into thinking having the high ground gave him an advantage; which prompted Anakin to jump above him. Obi-Wan then defeated him from the low ground. Therefore proving that, in fact, Obi-Wan was a master of the low ground.

Personally this idea doesn't work because obiwan was more patient and not as arrogant or quick to anger so unlike anikan who overestimated his power obiwan would have waited for another opportunity to strike and win the battle
According to one of the recent comics obiwan was constantly being over powered and was on the verge of being killed by anakin, Obiwan only won because anakin saw the jump as a challenge to his power which was a mistake. If anakin didn't jump obiwan would have been killed
Obiwan is a more defensive fighter to, so it's not really in his strategy to take such a literal leap of faith

To be completely honest, I was actually under the expectation that ob1 wouldn't be so arrogant like Anakin and actually not jump after Anakin at all. I figured he would know that Anakin would be prepared for a jump attack there especially considering Darth maul was super surprised because ob1 was grabbing a ledge and didn't really look like he had a feasible chance at all while Anakin can clearly see that his master Obi-Wan is still armed with his lightsaber and would be extremely prepared for jump attacked so ob1 would actually know better and try to find another way to approach or wait for Anakin in his arrogance.

I think it is in the novelization of episode 3, it is explained that Obi-wan is leading the fight to a position where his victory would be assured, even if that meant never going on the offence. Remember, Obi-wan was the master of defence.
peter solfeldt I know that he was a Master in defence he is one of my favorite characters but it's not easy to land on something and defend yourself at the same time especially considering Anakin was faster and stronger and in the novel it said Obi-wan's bones were being bent so he is not gonna defend himself while trying to land on something especially if Anakin hits him with his strength and will make him fall backwards

The only issue is when Palpatine arrived, but he wasn't to arrive until after Obi-wan left with Padmé, so they would have had a lot more time than in the fanfiction.

It's a good fan fiction, but unfortunately, it could never happen. Obi-wan doesn't get his power from having the high ground. Merely the existence of high ground in a fight. Examples: Won against grevious and maul with low ground. Won against Vader on mustafar with high ground. Lost against Vader on Death Star with level ground.
