Alittle about each place:
Blue Hills Ranch-
Located in McGregor TX is a 150 acre Giraffe and animal sanctuary. They have approx 7 themed cabins for guests to stay in. They offer multiple types of adventures and experiences while there, from swimming with otters to dining with giraffes. With picturesque landscapes you with truly be able to relax while you take in the serene surroundings. The sunrises will make even non morning people glad they woke up early.
If you're into local cuisine McGregor has some nice hometown restaurants you'll want to check out!
Mayborn Museum-
''The Mayborn Museum Complex celebrates the natural science and cultural history of Central Texas. This 143,000-square-foot building on the Baylor University campus sparkles with numerous vibrant exhibits and compelling hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy over and over again.''
Be prepared to learn a lot while here, we didn't even get to finish because there were so many amazing exhibits to see. From the outdoor village to the science areas on the third floor you wont be bored here. And if you need alittle brain break they have a kids play area that was the cleanest and most organized I've ever seen in a museum like this.
Dr Pepper Museum-
Built in 1906 by architect Milton Scott, the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company was the first building dedicated to the manufacturing of Dr Pepper. Creating a Dr Pepper Museum was the vision of a few devoted enthusiasts of both Dr Pepper and its history. The Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company became the Dr Pepper Museum in 1989. Today it is the Museum’s largest artifact and a tribute to the imagination and talent that fueled Dr Pepper’s success throughout the years.
If you enjoy history this is a place you'll want to visit. Even as a non soda drinker I found the Dr. Pepper museum to be very interesting and learned quite a lot which on our tour. And bonus, you get a free drink at the end of your tour that is freshly made!

That was a beautiful video.
The section which touched me the most was the butterfly paintings at the Mayborn Museum, just past the 13 minute mark.
An artist friend painted similar butterflies in flight around the childrens room in my church dedicated to the memory of my wife of over 38 years, who graduated to Heaven (undiagnosed heart condition) almost eight years ago. We were never blessed with children, but for over 30 years she taught the childrens and teens Sunday School classes.
That is so beautiful that they did that for your wife (sorry to hear she is no longer with us) I can only imagine the amazing memories you have with her. Those paints were definitely one of my favorite things in the museum.

Yeah that's about 3 ish hours from where we were and where we live. We have hotel points so that'd be a cool weekend trip for sure !
