I Tried Working For Amway For 60 Days

- I hope you enjoy this video of me explaining my experience while working for Amway. Everyone’s experiences with this company are different, but they all seem to be stressful in some way. Many people succeed with this company, I just did not happen to be one of them.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with Amway representatives. I was misled to thinking someone was sharing their experience about alternative careers. I realised after 3 calls that it was all a scheme to befriend and recruit me into Amway without even being directly asked. I researched the products & found ingrediants that wouldn't work for me & the costs were very high. I declined to join & that was when I received very distressing replies. Their words were very intimidating, guilt ridden, gas lighting phrases (it wasn't about the products or sales). I was shamed & told I was missing out on health benefits & a better future.
Everyone has the right to say "No" without explanation - this experience was upsetting & no one should feel this way.
Thank you for this because this is literally what I’m currently going thru. I went thru the first round of spring leadership this past weekend and it was inspiring BUT ONLY TO DO WHAT I ALREADY HAD MY HEART SET ON 💖 to made to feel that I wasn’t enough or doing enough was insane. I asked a few people in the group on how and why they got started and it worked for them but as someone who is an introvert already that is stressful. It sent off some red flags the second day and it isn’t something I’d want to keep doing. To be made to feel like what you genuinely want to do isn’t enough blows me.
Girl you just told your truth. That's what you're supposed to do! You should look up Amway Income Disclosure statement. It's an MLM & according to the ftc 99.7% of ppl in mlms lose money or barely break even. Thanks for being honest
Anyone starting any type of business initially loses money before making profits.
@@Dennis.Short1 Problem is I found the training is not good.
You’re right. Sometimes it can be utterly pointless. That is why I do my own research/training via other NWM programs right here on CZcams. Amway/ my upline may frown upon it but what can they say or do. One person that I follow that has helped me so much is Grant Cardone. And he isn’t even a network marketer. If you get a chance… get his book - The 10x Rule. That has helped me so much.
That’s why I liked when we were using the “tap root” method.
Limitations and failures are building blocks for success. Get out your comfort zone and go out there and get it IF YOU want
Sounds like you are with world wide group! Have you been core today?
Thanks for uploading this. Ive been trying to do some research after my friends been tryna recruit me. Def not gonna do it, but i love living vicariously through you haha
Y’all seem to forget that this is a selling business. Don’t focus on recruiting/sponsoring. Focus on moving the products. That’s why the company provides you with your own website. Once you start making money selling the products that’s when you start showing other people how to make money selling the products. A lot of people, including myself start off doing this backwards.
I completely agree with you. I was definitely one of those people as well 😩
Lol. Literally nobody sells anything in Amway.
@@akshaygovindaraj3563 , when you actually sit and realize what’s happening, distributors are selling to their down line. When you promote a product, promote it to your down line and sell it to them at distributor cost of course and don’t forget to create a receipt so you qualify for your PV. Actually that’s how I bought my first eSpring Water purifier. Right through my sponsor/upline.
Well the sponsors mostly focus on you recruiting people under you. The more people you have under you the more money you make.
@@tannerfleming1907 and that’s pointless if none of you are selling any of the products.
I know I'll never make it in sales. I hate having to "convince" people to sell a product because I know I feel uncomfortable when people approach me about buying stuff. I'm nice and I feel bad when I'm not interested. I also hate this "recruiting people" since I've never really had the urge to ever lead people.
Omg you are literally me! Lol 😂🙈
@@omgcici Its a curse lol. It sucks because if you're good at sales you can make very good money in just about every field possible but I don't have the personality for it.
The key is first don’t try to recluit them give them samples of the products and they will became customers firsts
LMAOOOO I adore yo personality omg. 😂😂😂😂 I watched this entire video because I was so entertained lol. Glad you got out of that.
You are a lovely, sweet woman with a kind heart, and you feel quite bad if you think that you've disappointed someone. BUT you were NOT the problem here. It's all on Amway and its multi level marketing structure.
First of all, no legitimate company with genuine products would allow a (corrected for accuracy) supervisory sales representative to ask you to pretend to be a customer and purchase products to plump up sales. That is dishonest AND delusional, because it means the company will be making annual sales projections based on false information. However such behaviors are frequently mentioned as being 'behind the scenes' behaviors by former sales people from many different MLM companies.
Second, a professionally managed company will have a much smaller sales staff, AND a legitimate company won't push recruitment of customers into the sales force. That would be like a customer walking into Walmart or Target to buy something, only to be told that in order to obtain the specific product they were looking for they would have to purchase an array of different products and stand in the store selling the products AND recruiting other people who may have also come into the store looking for only one item.
Third, in the example above, the entire big store is in competition with its own recruiting salespeople, and at the same time the store is trying to recruit MORE sales/recruitment people and put THEM in competition with the store AND the extra sales/recruitment staff they already have on the floor.
Fourth, a professionally managed company with genuine products that are in demand or have an established customer base would ONLY hire experienced sales people, and would be very likely to provide mandatory additional training in sales tactics specific to their products.
You are not at fault here; your bad experience is the inevitable result of dealing with a company focused on recruitment instead of on actual sales.
🧢
I love Amway products. But I just started 3 months ago. I don’t have any customers part of me yet. But I’m going to try until I will become successful ❤. I very love you video.
Go be core instead of watching youtube! Send a kate to your upline and tell them you are motivated, coachable and committed to your dream
The Amway products is definitely VALID😂💯
My friend invited me and I have appointment with the team today so I try to find out how it work and realize that it not my way and not what I want to do.
I was approached by a guy he’s giving me free books and audios to read and listen to, I’m going to milk his teachings and catch ghost when I’m ready to start my own thing 🤷🏾♂️
I wish there was an Uber for anyway where people request product and you go to them to deliver it
OMG YESS I FELT THISSS !! i am not that typa person to just text people in my contacts, and i did once they kept asking me and the responses i got were “oh not at this time” or “i’ll look into it” and the higher ups would always say oh in a few days check up on them like 😓😓 it was phew stressful
business isnt cut out for you then
simple
Girl thank youuuu!!! U don’t kno how much you helped😭😭🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
I’m so glad I came across your video. It was very informative. Someone I know recently tried to recruit me for this and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it and after watching your video I definitely know this is not for me lol
😅 this is currently me.
my cousins are trying to get me to join & start. butttt something about it just isn’t clicking with me 😩
Why would you compare yourself to someone else’s story? Like make your own choices in life, instead of Google search and CZcams.
@@manaanspicy9590 it’s actually smarter to do research first beforehand so you know what your getting yourself into. And I made a choice I decided not to join 😉
Just left amway, and I agree with how stressful the work actually is. My sidelines and uplines literally don't sleep at all.
That’s no good. Can you physically tell that they don’t sleep (droopy eyes, fat gain in midsection, moodiness)?
@@mdell-t4655precisely!
Hello. Just wondering if you would want to change you title since you were not actually working for the Amway Corporation, but had registered to be an Amway Independent Business Owner.
Amway has great products, but it's not a job. It's a Home Based Business opportunity. It's traditional Network Marketing.
I understand what you are saying in de video.
LOL You're literally a 1099 Contractor not a business owner.
My sister keeps pushing me to get into it or buy from her and I feel like at this point I have to cut her off. Anyway destroys peoples lives and ruins their relationships to those around them, I’m glad you made it out early, a lot of people get sucked into it
personally, I think its nice to keep the money in the family, if your sister is offering you a new product similar to something youre buying from walmart i dont see why not give it a try.
It's not a sustainable business model and that's why 99% of people don't make money. You can only pressure your friends and family to buy overpriced products for so long before they realize it's a rip off. Anything Amway sells can be found similarly elsewhere for much cheaper. Good on you for not wasting money under pressure.
@@kaitlynzebell6740Similar to Walmart but three times the price...ok.
That's your sister you can't cut her off. Show her the light and if you can buy from her, do it. But let her know her business is not sustainable.
Definitely love Amway and my team! It’s terrible when people exploit the industry and mistreat people. There is a way to do it well but it takes time and honesty 😢 Good for you! Always stand up for yourself and against predatory people!
The people making millions ain’t just making their money from Amway.
They learned real marketing but don’t teach it.
Can you send me some info?
is it a scam?
@@nemuelpaiva3738 The crazy Pt about this is Amway is a legitimate company. Affiliate marketing, brand ambassadors, franchising, e-commerce and direct selling can help generate income while moving volume (the purpose of any business). But predatory behavior is never ok - I don’t stand for it in traditional or non traditional work environments. It just doesn’t take all that! People have too many options! If you’re pressuring someone, you’re doing something wrong!
@@ladiSims so what is your takeaway or advice is it a scam or not because i do not really want to lose my time there i have family to feed
I 'tried' 'working for Amway'. Had NO idea what she was involved in. The only way you can 'work for Amway' is to get job with corporate. This person has NO business trying to own a business. Just get a job and hope you can keep it.
I was just about to start working for AmWay until My Finances dad told me to watch your video! And I’m glad I did. I know the truth behind them. They are extremly convincing at telling me that they are a legit buisness. Thank you for opening my eyes for this!
I’m so glad I was able to help you before you made that decision 😊
Your analysis is spot on.
One of the most disgusting pathetic experiences of my life was meeting with people from Amway.
One out of one million people become millionaire's in Amway.
They try selling (usually people struggling) a dream.
thanks for this video I knew it was too good to be true. saved me so much time and energy going into more one on one meetings with this person
instant turn-off when the music blows up way higher than the dialog 0:05 18:00, but the candid take on your experience was interesting to hear. I walked away from amway as soon as i realized that selling products were secondary to recruiting. One of my buddies actually pushed hard at selling and it was an astronomical waste of his time for a few years.
I love how you kept it real! 😂😂 I understand everything you said in this video.😂 love it.
I just bought mens daily multivitamin to help this lady. And fell through the rabbit hole. Here i am listening about AMWAY. Anyways great story ❤
Disagree on one thing: there are NOT tons of people making a lot of money in MLMs. Only the top 1%. Anyone saying “I make millions” is very likely lying to take your money for mentoring. Ask them to show you bank statements if so. Again, only the TOP 1% do well. Just look at the disclosure statements
Same as jobs.
I was in Amway when they had motivational tapes and I was required to subscribe. When I ran into a money issue, I stopped and had the sponsors talk to me. A year later I quit.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience in the business. I experienced similar things in the business but I realized I wanted to take control of my business and build it organically and low stress. A beautiful and amazing nice person like you (even if you're shy) still has the potential to do good in this business. You just have to find the right people that's willing to help and work with you.
This video is everything! You are hilarious
Very informative video and I enjoyed it. You seem to have a great personality. 😊 Thanks for the input on your experience.
no girl the ranting the whole video was great and well put …this was literally the same experience i went through thank you…i’m early but yea i’m not down..
I’m in it as we speak the whole first year is free right now but I leave when I want to and
Not show when I want they’re not your boss it’s your own business so I behave accordingly
Hej! Well, it seems that your upline told you that you were hired as a salesperson at Amway... and ofcourse your not (I know you know that)!
You never hired as a employee at Amway (if your not hired at the factory in Ada, Michigan)!!! So for those people who read the comments, you start your own company and sell product's from Amway... or connect new people who also want to buy good product's, big difference!
It depends who your upline is and what your team looks like. I lucked out that I got selected on a team with super professional IBOs. My upline would never force me to invest in something too ahead of what is in my personal budget, and he respects that I am a software engineer who works 45 hour weeks. I also have a life outside of work which my upline respects as well. I still get 8 hours of sleep per night. Some people may have been chosen by a manipulative upline who just mooches from them and acts unprofessionally. Everybody has different experiences and I understand what happened to you.
I agree that the products work.
If you’re still with Amway: I’d be curious to know your pin level, your upline’s pin level, your average PV per month, how much you personally spend on products per month, and how much you spend on business materials/personal development?
@@hellogirl1998 good question. I usually spend around 100-150PV a month getting the products me and family need. My upline never pushed any further except for New Years Eve. However, my upline does make me come to every live meeting and function, which will not happen as often because I have other things to take care of. I just want to see what will happen if I miss a live meeting or function, because I know my upline has done that before. He also makes me subscribe to BWW, which I might have to unsubscribe from for a bit because I’m behind. As long as I’m making good sales and getting people in my downline, I should be fine.
@@mdell-t4655 Thanks for your reply! I’m curious on what level you’re subscribed to BWW at? Are you participating in BOTM? Does your team do 1 business plan meeting and 1 product meeting per week? Have you recruited anyone in your downline? What’s the most PV you’ve sold in one month? Are you recommended/guided to post on social media frequently? Are you guided to friend a lot of people on social media platforms?
@@hellogirl1998 I just recently unsubscribed from BWW. I did the 4x per month subscription. I am not participating in BOTM. My team does a business plan meeting 1x a week on Zoom and 1x a month in-person. We do all our product meetings 1x a week on Zoom. I have been in the business for 7 months and got 2 people in my downline so far, but now I only have 1 because the other person quit. The most PV I sold per month to people was probably around 40PV (over $100) because I had some sales before the weather got cold. I have not had time to make sales. I did create a business card and I will sell more often so I earn more while doing my work outside when it gets warm. Most of the people I reach out to are not my friends and family. They are people I connected through LinkedIn. They encourage me to speak mostly to my friends and family, but I only spoke to a few by referring someone else in third person.
I mainly find the functions and in-persons to be hard to get to because I live in a big city and don’t have a car to drive. I like that my upline doesn’t give up on me if I don’t reach certain goals fast enough, but I want him to understand that I don’t have all the time to make every in-person meeting and function.
@@hellogirl1998no i believe this person is affiliated with WWG (world wide group) in which case we have to ask have you been core today?
I went for the first meeting outta curiosity and boredom. I will say that till now the person who sold this idea to me has been really vague which still doesn't sit well with me, which doesn't thrill me one bit. But hey, buying Amway products to try and keeping it even after I leave? Yea I'd love that.
1. You DON'T have to join the trainings. If you have experience selling or if you know where to self train, you DO NOT have to join the classes by your upline. If they mad, they are the problem, not the company. Also, some people do need this type of leaders breathing down their neck to do their job of advertising the products so that people will buy from them. Else, they just do nothing and expect customers to just come in strolling to buy from them.
2. If you hate selling, this job and any other sales job aren't for you. Simple as that. Also, there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to call your family or friends to buy from you. They aren't your target audience. Go on social media and find your target audience by posting related contents and then show your products and their benefits and who have they helped or how they have helped you. Your targeted audiences WILL CONTACT you to buy. This is when your product knowledge AND your selling skills will come into play.
3. Girl, please do not listen to all these old millenial gurus who says you have to make cold calls or contact your family members etc etc. THEY ARE NOT YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE. PERIOD. Even if they buy, it is out of empathy and that empathy will run out soon!
4. If your upline scolds you for not meeting your 'quota', please F her upside down. The upline are supposed to market their own products too, not solely rely on downlines . OMG. They are equally responsible in doing their own sales. Also, instead of motivation rubbish talk, there should be a class on product knowledge and how to make social media postings, how to find testimonials, how to build you audience etc.
5. Buying products to reach your quote benefits THEM, not YOU. OMG, this is so unethical. I really think you found a very bad upline.
I did this and boy I quit 2 months in they want you to buy your products and pay all these fees for the app/ meetings nah I’m good there is no way you can money on the pay scale they have setup paying all that out
Exactlyyyy!!! It’s ridiculous!! Smh
Takes about 10,000 hours to become proficient at anything…how much work did you do in 2 months…hmmm
@@offwright2178 I did a lot of work in 2 months. It doesn’t matter if you spend 50,000 hours in it you will still lose. The pay scale isn’t designed to win anybody that’s ever taken a business course will tell you that. But you can still advocate for them and be apart of it.
@@OdinistNordic that’s very false business courses are taught from people making 50k to teach you to make 500k very quality stupid but network marketing is a trillion dollar industry so winners win I guess and losers quit
@@offwright2178 Yeah they make all their profit off suckers like you but I guess you can keep kissing up to you upline hoping you’re gonna make it if it’s working so well why aren’t you promoting Amway on CZcams oh yeah that’s right cause their reputation is garbage and they lie to get you in their bs scam but keep going on with them you’ll make it eventually
Anyone who is considering joining Amway please listen to this young lady
That's how it is, I've seen allot of successful people in my own country. I've also seen ppl join after me have great success. You also have to purchase a book monthly and also submit notes and share your take away. I didn't mind the online meetings but I had a serious problem with having to leave your camera on at all times. The continuous sale hunting frustrated me, I did gain a few loyal customers as well. You are also very correct their products are absolutely amazing,.great quality
Additionally I learned quite allot, The Magic Of Thinking Big, rich dad poor dad are some of the books we had to read among others. It shapes you into a better person over time
Great video. Perfectly started: You didn’t join a job to pay for that job
The truth man this guy from my school I haven’t talked to in like 2years called me up and acted buddy buddy to get me to join 😂😂
you certainly don't learn to be a salesman in 60 days
If you go into business with the mindset to try something your not taking business seriously. The reason people arent making money because they see this as a side hussel. Reading your description of the video shows it that you need a belief midset. Look at any diamond in amyway and look at their work ethic. Their work ethic backs up the fact why their that pin.
I am in Amway now for about a month I am not having that experience so far
im trying to get out. i’m supposed to go every tuesday every other saturday and a big one 4x a year and pay
Just stop showing up 😂 i did give my higherup a courtesy call to let her know i was quitting though
Ya I just denied they’re partnership offer last week. What a bunch of clowns
I wish they had pretty girls like you when I was in there. You make me want to go back in.
Try selling insurance... you'll like it much better...
Thanks for informing me that this is definitely a Pyramid scheme I was about to go on board myself but now that I'm aware. And did my own due diligence this is not It.
Sample out products. If somebody expresses they have a need, offer a solution. "Im stressed" recommend they try the less stress gummies. "I cant sleep" recommend the sleep gummies. "I need more money" ask if they'd like to come see the info session to see if its right for them. If its a no then cool. Move to the next. Read the books, listen to the audios etc. Study the products to explain them to people. Its a business, not a job. Your "legs" are actually just your partners. Idk. Thats just how i see it.
Almost nobody makes money with Amway, the top 1#... but the rest dont make enough to rent a 1 bed room apartment in the hood.
I work for a cleaning company contracted at amways global hq. I never knew about any of the controversy surrounding amways business practices.
Sorry but Amway is for Go getters.
Not Employee mentality people.
Thats where U are Wrong cause its not sales person.
There is a lot of Books that business owners read and Im talking about workers structures and compensation from a traditional Job or a Business with partners in Business.
Also I dont want to sound disrespectful but USA peoppe are trained as little as weak in these areas.
They get indoctrinated to be at school to go to college get in debt and then theu cannot find positions in the job that U study for!!.
All the CZcamsrs that post about amway or other parner in business structures.
They picture in their mind that you gwt paid to do nothing.
But in any business its about building your portafolio of clients.
But if you go with the mentality of going to work and if You are lazy you wont make no money.
Of Course you have to rhink like an entrepreneur not a employee mentality.
Im not in any of mlm structures but I got a lot of succesful people that they jave made it and with a lot of efford.
If it was easy to be millionare everyone will be a millionare.
Try in real state and from there let us know ur Outcome!!.
You will see its the same
I think you were recluit by wrong people, is diferente organización also the Nutrilite products are excellent you can do it at your own space also at this time it’s free to join, free admission to conferences and free audios and books
Wrong! The entire experice of Quixtar then Amway changed my life! I met people, learned success principles and got a dream that still drives me today in my own successful company. I'm not involded today, but my involvement opened the door to what im doing today. Amway, a job, college, marriage or anything you put your mind to will produce no more than you put in to it! Thank you Bill Britt, RW Weaver, Paul Miller, Greg and Liz, Steve and Alicia, Shawn and David all for never giving up on me!
How much money did you lose?
@@harrisindustries314 I didn't! At the end it was a wash, maybe made a few, but as mentioned above the relationships, principles and concepts I learned have helped me make hundreds and thousands and well on the way to millions. You have to get around the right people, amway and our actual training system is so different lol . I'm learning that everyone just has different experiences but for some people it's definitely a life changer 💯
Lmao you are so right about them not teaching you anything about selling products or talking to people. Just a bunch of motivational garbage to keep you interested. I joined to be my own boss not answer to a bunch of up lines and be stressed out. They also expect you to spend thousands on trips to the states for conferences that don’t teach you anything but motivational quotes either.
That's why they push recruitment so hard...to make money off charging you for bs like meetings and conferences on top of tricking you into buying the products "to sell" 🙄. It's a scam.
Why i never meet sweet girls like you in real life 😅
Your a smart young lady, you have a high IQ to be able to see through their trickery

I’m in the process right now and when they finish I’m tell them sorry I wasted your time but I’m out
listening to her you can understand how clueless...people are about building this kind of business...she was meant to be a customer, not a business builder. She should have been better off just trying the products one time and come back if you like them kind of thing...

You mean like a job? Legal pyramid 😂
They don't tell you how to sell products, but if you have the business kit, you should find everything you need to know about the business. Did you read all Amway policies? That is the first mistake IBO made . They don't read all the information about the business, just follow others IBO without find out first.
