  • Hey Friends! I know its been a while. Its been a busy first quarter in my world. Im in the middle of a mixing a record and I have a lot of down time while things print. I figured I would make a shop talk episode about owning the Eventide H9000 FX processor.

    Thanks for posting this video, I hope you do more on the H9000. Honest question, all quirks aside, would you recommend purchasing the H9000 for personal use? I have a home studio, plan to use it mainly for myself, and down the line for friends, family, initially low key projects. Reason I’m asking is I have an opportunity to get one for what I think is a great deal, and I have a lot of hardware I’d like to run through it and use for computer use as well.

    The mute issue is a pain, but a quicker way to fix is to select H9000 as the Asio driver in Windows and the switch back to your main audio driver. On Mac it may be the same. Select H9000 then switch back to the aggregated driver once the mute message goes away. I use RME as my main interface.

    Do you recommend any presets or algorithms for vocals or any category for that matter? Sorry to bother, just have a trial period to take it for a test run before deciding on keeping.

      I use Bigger Is Wider as the last algorithm on every chain, that is magic. Vocals work well with H3000 micro pitch. There is an ambience algorithm that is really cool too that is very subtle verb. Shimmer and BlackHole are amazing on background vocals to make them huge.

    mutec mc series would probably solve your sample rate conversion issues
    for an apollo replacement look at metric halo, has dsp like apollo but way better digital IO, especially for interfacing with h9000

      @@billylaguardia i watched your video only one time but I get the feeling you should make your Apolo the master clock and run all other gear as slave and have the h9000 feed the audio in and out via ADAT.... Did you try that?

      @billylaguardia  Před měsícem

      @@lachopakapura Hmmm… never thought of that. There is only 1 ADAT port. I just assumed it was “in” only vs bidirectional

    Please put some H9000 on your voice… just to make it less unpleasant.
