Hi Jordan, ah, anything 'Mister Rogers' always gives me a cosy feeling. I'm so pleased you got to ride the trolley. It's nice to go back and visit your childhood once in a while. Great vlog Jordan.
Jordan, I love this amusement park. I grew up on Captain Kangaroo and then in 1968 started watching Mister Rogers. Thanks for bringing back a lot of childhood memories.
This was so sweet. Amusement Parks like this makes an old person feel young again.
Love this park. Took our son there a lot when he was small since we have family in the area. Our son now lives in Pittsburgh doing grad school at university of Pitt in the physics program. I rode the trolly a few years ago just for fun. Thanks for the memories.
Oh My Jordan had me in tears of happiness watching Mr Rogers as a child and seeing how his dreams are still around plan a trip with my son & his family my newborn granddaughter to enjoy thank you safe travels
My parents took me and my sister here every summer and it was a must to ride the trolley. It wasn't Daniel Tiger related when we went but did have all the original characters like Corny, King Friday, and Lady Elaine. In the end, everyone would sing "It's such a good feeling" and we were encouraged to hug our loved ones on the ride lol. Such good memories. It was disappointing when they changed it up. I live in Maryland now and my sister is in college, but summers at Idlewild were always the best. Thank you for this!
This ride was one of my favs as a child. I rode it when it was just like you described. It was mister rogers neighborhood. This kinda makes me sad that it has changed so much

Anything Mister Rogers brings back my childhood memories. I remember when Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was on back-to-back with Sesame Street and I never missed either one of them!
Love this. I watch Daniel with my great grandkids. It's a great little show. My kids and even grandkids watched Mr Rogers. Just an extension of him
I LOVE THIS! My kids are growing up watching Daniel Tiger and I grew up watching Mr.Rogers. I took my kids a few years ago and they loved all the Daniel Tiger things. I want to go back. Now that they're older they'll still love the Daniel Tiger stuff but they can also enjoy the water park part.

This is a cute park! The Mr. Rogers ride used to be a lot more unique, they actually had animatronics of the characters at the different scenes. You used to be invited to “Come along to the castle hug and song party”

So cool, I used to come here in the late 80's and early 90's as a kid when we visited family in the Pittsburgh area. Brings back happy memories to see. It actually looks somewhat like it did then.

When I was a kid, I always thought the trolley was a caboose that could somehow move without a locomotive, mainly because trolley was red and cabooses are red

I haven't been to Mr Rodgers Neighborhood in years. I used to take my kids all the time, but, .... They got big. It has changed quite a bit since the '90's. They used to have bigger versions of the original puppets. Maybe Lady Elaine Fairchild scared too many kids?! Not a fan of this version, IDT.

We visited this charming historical park during a roller coaster convention back in 2010. Then it had all of the beloved puppet friends of Mr Rogers. I understand why they changed the theming but sadly it’s not the same experience without Roger’s.

I thought that that would be rather lame, but it was actually very cute. At the risk of telling my age, I was six years old in 1968 when Mr. Rogers first went on the air, and so it was definitely a part of my childhood.
i watched daniel tigers neighborhood with my daughter the other day and while i like it it was certainly missing the host like fred was on the original series. i wish someone with a love for children could have passed the torche.

My girlfriend is from Latrobe and lives there. Every year we take her daughter to Idlewild. The trolley is her favorite ride. I actually enjoy it. The whole theme park is to visit.
I also filmed the story book forest, I was really impressed with that part of the park as well!

Rode the original ride as a kid, and the version with Daniel as an adult. Liked both, though I do miss those wonky puppets from the original.
Fun vlog mister Rogers need more people world like him
Mr. Rogers transitioned in 2003. Daniel Tigers Neighborhood debuted in 2012. Mr. Rogers didn't have any direct input. The Rides theming could have stayed the same if PBS continued to rerun Mr. Rodgers's Neighborhood. But Mr. Rodgers on very rare occasions made references to pop culture touchstones. One that comes to mind for me is in 1977 Mr. Rodgers got permission to go to the set of the Incredible Hulk. Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno explained to the audience how fantasy television was made. I guess children were confused by Dr. Banner's transformation.

Mr. Mcfeely, the baker, and the rest. Wondering why they have the cat named Ekaterina instead of Henrietta. NEVERMIND.. New generation of make believe neighbors. Lol

I must admit I’m a bit sad they’ve rebranded it-I would have liked to see it with the original characters. Guess they felt they needed to keep up with the times though.

I felt immense shame when I said Oh sh!t aloud🥺 watching Mr Rogers neighborhood.

It's sad that they got rid of the original animatronics, especially the rotating instruments in the museum go round, and the building itself actually used to rotate too. That was the best sene on the original ride, its replacment with the "find my space helmet" is undoubtably the worst sene on this version. Also I miss jokes like "King Friday the 13th", and as a "Chuck E Cheese adult" that likes animatronics I obviously miss the artistry that the Sally Corporation put into the original animatronics (if you've been to Great Wolf Lodge, you've seen this style of animatronics), they were much better than these cheeply done 2D figures.
I have such great memories going to this park when my children were small.
What did they do?! Geesh, what a downgrade… :/
Sad they took the original Mr Rogers worked and recorded on all those years ago with the ORIGINAL characters with better animatronics and everything and turned it into a cheap knock-off of itself from the new bootlegged cartoon. :/ All this is is voice-overs with cheap cutouts of the cheap bootlegged characters from the cartoon that only move an arm or something. :/ Ugly. Yeah, unfortunately the original was falling apart but the characters were more timeless, better looking from the original and actually had personality, (when they worked, they were honestly REALLY impressive how they moved for how old the original was, it’s rumored it was made in the 70’s…) Sad how the kids now only know these characters from that new bootlegged cartoon and not from the REAL show of Mr. Rogers. :/
The original was timless too because sadly Mr Rogers and the cast were pretty much long gone but their voices for the characters from the recordings for the attraction and everything lived on with the original attraction for how long it was open, why, WHY did they destroy something that was so loved and timeless for decades? All those beautiful animatronics and recordings Mr Rogers and co. did for it GONE, they threw that all away completely disrespecting and insulting the whole thing and pretty much insulting Fred destroying it and ruining it for this cheap piece of cardboard junk with cheap bland imposters from the cheap bootlegged cartoon no original fan will ever like or remember, they seriously couldn’t put this somewhere else instead of completely disrespecting Fred and the original version and all the hard and timless work put into it by completely re-doing it like it never even existed?
Maybe it’s me, but I grew up with the original show LOONG before the cartoon was a thing. XD
I miss the original characters so much… Sad how all you see is those cheap bootlegs of the cartoon versions of them everywhere now, I don’t get it why is a bootleg cartoon of the original being milked being played all the time and you see it everywhere all the time while the timless original Mr Rogers isn’t even on TV and you barely even see it anymore, seriously, why? Is it that hard to play both? You can’t beat the original, a bootlegged wannabe cartoon of it like that that tries so hard to be similar will never replace it.
