Tons of GR8 Ideas!!! I've just purchased a 2015 GMC Savana and I'm going to use a bunch of your ideas! Thanks Devin!
WOW! This is probably the cleanest build I have seen! Good job on the swivel table!
That looks awesome! And on route. Hells Canyon is now on the itinerary. Thanks!
Very nicely done. I think that swivel top was genius.
Great ideas! Very simple yet functional. Not overdone. Perfect for a weekend (or longer) THANKS
Chevy G10 and G20's are nice. I've always like those vans and they are fairly reliable and parts are easy to get.
Nice van, man! Check out my project g20 at zephyr garage channel.
Devin has taken a very imaginative approach. I particularly liked the swivel counter top. I bet some of the RV manufacturers could learn from that. Also, the bed arrangement was creative and well-executed.
Nice project. Love that grey water tank too.
You did a great job on your van and I'm glad that you take great pride on your work. I told my wife that I would like to buy a van for camping and vacation trips. You gave me lots of ideas and I will also try to do a good job like you did. Thank you for sharing your video.
Hello Devin? In hope that this little note finds you well and in great spirit. I found your video to be very warm and matter of fact. It shows that you are thinking as you convert the new edition. I have a similar style. I look forward to your next video. i am retired and living in an efficiency apartment in the city and am thinking about converting to living in a van. Your video was great for thought provoking of some issues that I need to figure out. Thx for positng best wishes for your trip. a fan called Rhonda
That bed design is really great...
Nice work so far. I will say right off you NEED TO TAKE THAT ACID BATTERY OUT OF THE SLEEPING AREA, IT SETS OFF FUMES YOU DON'T WANT TO INHALE!!
Awesome job putting up the insulation all the way around, you'll be glad you did that. Think about putting a couple solar panels on the top roof... you'll be glad you did that also!! Make sure your inverter is strong enough to pull quite a few things.
When redoing your sink area think about building it so you can stick a small
refrigerator under one side of the sink and you will want a sink pump also. Invest in
some dual batteries as well and make sure you in case them in plastic containers, it might be better to get the GEL Batteries also, no fumes!!
Don't forget the commode either for those emergency nights and start stocking
up on those gallon Juice bottles for peeing in, they have a handle on them so it's
easier to hang onto. Also your going to want to tint your windows all the way around and install a curtain that wraps around the front wind shield for privacy.
Make sure you choose LED lighting, way better than the original and uses less
energy. If for some reason you remove that bed and box to improve on it, make
sure you use some insulation spray coating for the bottom of the floor, it makes
for a good barrier for the cold nights and keeps the cool in when you have air.
sthwestb thanks.
sthwestb he's fine don't be paranoid
I have a 94 with a slider... I added ladder on back, ladder rack on top and bought a 10 ft trailer.. I have purchased a lot of tents/camping gear over the last few years.. who needs an RV when you have a mobile MASH unit? With a van, you always have a fairly safe place to retreat in a storm or dangerous winds.. great project, great van!
Nice conversion, you have a nack for space saving. I'm sure as a sideline people will employ you to do their vans. I've had camper vans all my life, wouldn't be without one. My fav I have had for 20 years is a 1969 chev 108, it even has flowers on the counter top, magic mushroom sticker on the back window. Happy trails, enjoy you rod trip coming up
John Mainwaring Thanks!!

Very nice setup with the bed, that is a clever idea, kind of like a futon.
Nice job. I love it when people customize to exactly what THEY do.
best one I've seen so far, simple, clean, and functional. well done!! may model mine after yours. thanks!
I have a 95 shorty van with the 4.3L. It has 279000 miles on it now still all stock doesn't leak or burn oil. Just keep your oil changed every 3000 miles and lube your fitting. And you will have it for a long time. P. S. nice job with the interior.
Good ideas , clean work ! Keep it up !
Suggest you pick up a large tarp ( 15' X 25' ) and an assortment of bungee cords and some paracord to add an awning attached to the roof rack ( a few simple PVC poles support the outside corners ) . An extra large tarp could serve both the side AND rear areas of your van by creating a GREAT area of shade and rain protection for picnicking and lounging , ▬ Ultra cheap too ! probably less than $50 for the tarp , cords , poles , ALL of it !
great work. Your enjoyment in working on the van will be greatly exceeded by the fun you have on your trips. You can't take away great memories.
Brilliants idea with the table, the rear cooking table, etc. Love the set-up - Peter V.
Glad you like it!
Nice camper van Dev great job so far
Just throw in some wall to wall shag carpet, some velvet curtains to hide the bed, and a little strobe light and disco ball and you'd have yourself a cool little "Shaggin' Wagon!" But seriously, great job on your build out, nice, clean, simple and functional
That is super well built dude wow. You did a great job, impressive!
Great job . I like the idea for the swivel out table top .
Lots of great ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice van! You made some really neat changes and your summer trip plans sound awesome!
Sweet dude. Im glad you got some stuff done. Working on this 83 G10 and still have the same problem with not wanting to put just anything in it. I have to test fit it all first. Man you have to get a electric water pump even if its a windshield washer fluid pump from salvage yard. pumping sux. You cat even put a (T) in it and rout it to a outdoor shower. Shoot you can even double up the pumps with a (T). Anyways- glad to see some great craftsmanship in a van and nice liiking stain job.
Great insulation and interior work.
I like to do the same thing to a new GMC 2500 extended diesel van.
Front and rear a/c and no windows and plain white on the outside.
Thanks for the pointers....
Great job, I will definitely be thinking about your designs when I start modifying my van, thanks for sharing!
Nice one! I hope you have lots of fun with your car.
Nicely done! He put some careful thought into his project & is shows. Thanks for sharing!
Love the simplicity...Also looks nice and tidy.
Love short vans, and that GM 4.3 is my favorite V6 because it's very torquey, durable, has a significant aftermarket, and is easy to make more power.
Great idea with the swivel table!
Try putting fresh 5 gl and gray 3 gl tanks under the sink.
Post more of your trip.
Well done!
Thanks. I rebuilt the kitchenette with some fresh and gray tanks under like you mentioned, works awesome. I'll put of a video on my channel soon.
Nice clean look, great job! going to use your idea's!
Very cool! Like how you used the foldouts!
simple, well thought out unit. bravo!
you just gave me a bunch of good info for my van build. thanks man!
I agree, very clean
Great build ...I build a lot of stuff like this also and doing a conversion on a truck topper shell now ... but you did a great job and really detailed . thanks for the video have fun with it .....!!
Nice little set up you have.
I love the plan to change things as you travel in it, realizing things need to be in different locations than what you first thought. New subscriber here, waiting to see your progress. A great video, well done!
this guy seems like a caricature of a California skater type

Thanks, brother.
Kickass job on the van btw
Some really good ideas.
I want to see this project finished please! I love it!
Check out City of Rocks, Southern ID. It's great for rock climbing and camping. Try to find the BLM land above the regular state park campsites. You can use the facilities below with about a 10-15 minute walk. Nice van too. I like it.
Nice work
Lava hot springs is a cool little town in Idaho. Dope van!
Wow, great job !
+samuel reyes Thanks for watching, we appreciate it! Have a great day!
Seems like a super cool guy real creative
Sweetness.. cool rig..
nice job on the van...enjoy....
One thing I have noticed on most of these home builds, no spare tire! What do you do when your in the middle of nowhere, and blowout a tire? Heres a tip, go visit some salvage yards, get an outside mounted spare carrier that goes on the hinges, and swivels out of the way. And you can put a lock on it to keep if from being stolen. Something to think about!
That's exactly what I have done. I think it cost me around 5 bucks or something cheap. Picked up a door ladder and swiveling seat bracket while I was at it.
Great job well done
Nice design making the most of limited space. Currently I tow a trailer but i am considering a van conversion project. It would be so much easier to get in the campsites and the camping season would be extended for me as well.
Damn! Nice deal man, pretty slick set up you got there! Craters of the moon is pretty awesome, I spent most of last summer working around there, wish I hadn't worn my Whites out there though, that rock will cause havoc on your boots! I live in Idaho there are many great places to go, if you are looking for a nice hike and some beautiful scenery I would suggest checking out the Sawtooths in Stanley. Amazing country and GREAT fishing. Hike up to the Bench Lakes at the base of the Sawtooths!
Dream car!!
I actually subscribed to Devin's channel a month or two ago. Cool videos. His channel is NWtrailClimber
Good job. I would have gone to lighter colors so it wouldn't be so dark inside. I also like a lot of lights inside. I understand students are on a limited budget, great work. I installed in my travel trailer LED lights inside, my cabinets have pin switches that have led license plate lights that come on when the door is opened. Nice for finding stuff. Maybe in your future.
Nice van, the Shorty full sizes are cool
Thats sweet man!!
Looks cool!
Exactly what am looking for..
Great job
Cool van good job
Nice rig mate.
Very nice!
Cool van! But he said, "arts and crafts" at 3:55! LMAO!!! Awesome.
very nice. I dig it.
Great job...didnt know dirks Bentley had a camper van
From Boise drive 84 west.Take the exit for Weiser and drive up through hells canyon following the snake river. Amazing...
good job !!!
Great ideas.
u did a great job!!!!
+Parñell Tousaint Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it! Have a great day!
Do it!
Nice job!!! I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with it. :-)
Devon, good video, thanks I would be concerned about using wheel well to fasten the angle iron to, but maybe on your van that won't create a potential rust area from road salt and water. You have skills for a DIY channel host man really.
good job. smart of to you make it so roomy.
Excellent video.. devin has done some really clever things.. I didn't see a link for his info
just an idea here. i'm starting my van build soon as I just got van and I've watched a ton of vids read tons of blogs and mostly people do what you do with the built in ladder but i don't like it cause i'm worried that makes easy access for thieves, even locking things down thieves got cutters and stuff and I don't want to give them leg up latterly.
i'm taking an old exertion ladder, using just part with feet things and chopping it down to width of inside of my van then cover chopped side with rubber so I can prop up on side of my van and will be stable/not slide/move on me or scratch up side of van.
Nice.
Good start. :)
Keep on dreamin'
