Scrollsaw Stand | Woodworking Shop Project

- I bought myself an entry level scrollsaw so that I could make some marquetry for an upcoming project.
Unfortunately, entry level scrollsaws don’t come with stands, and I quickly found that using a scrollsaw on the floor is a bit uncomfortable.
So I built myself a simple plywood stand with all the fancy features like not having to sit on the floor.

Great job Paul! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks 👍 Been too long since a fistbump ;) 👊🏻
Looks like some fun times coming up 👍
Hopefully, I'm concerned I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew though, haha!
Good job bro!🔥👌🏻
Thanks Łukasz :)
👀 Nicely done my friend 👍🌟keep them coming and good luck with your channel 👌
Love the Qld ppe
Melbourne got its one warm day in the last 6 months and it happened to be a filming day ;)
"Definately has nothing to do with me losing my angle cube" lol! I can't relate to that at ALL! 5min of looking only to find it on the opposite side of the saw body!
The problem with them being magnetic is they can be knocked off and then grab onto the underside of cast iron tables too! At least, thats the rumour I've heard ;)
Nice work x100 better than the stand that came with my scrollsaw. 👍🏻
Thanks Joe, did your legs get cramped on the floor too? :D
The Wood Knight A little, I think with the splayed legs it’s always going to be tricky.
Nice scrap ply scroll saw table, mate. 👍🏽
I did pretty much the same thing.
Any ideas on other things I should be kitting the stand out with? I think I need to get some clear plastic tubes to store the blades, but that sound suspiciously like having to go to Bunnings :|
@@TheWoodKnight
I just made 2 side sliding draws with caddie inserts for the accessories.
Oh, I slapped some castors on mine too.👍🏽
Another good project. What is the drill/countersink bit you used please?
I have a video on the countersink bits I use! czcams.com/video/J7L2MMX7L_M/video.html
For this project, it was specifically the Carbitool bit www.carbitool.com.au/product/drill-countersink-with-ball-bearing-depth-stop/
Hay Paul its Rob your old mate from Mooroolbark ;) how are you man, hey what's that bit your using and where did u get it from the p&n ones u recommended are a bit pricey great build buy the way, i have a cheapy gmc scroll saw and iv been thinking about a stand take care mate stay safe
Marquetry...hmm, gonna try your hand at making something similar to the Hannah cabinet?
hahaha, I'm going to start with something much smaller and simpler - a little ladybug adornment for a serving tray for a friend. One day I'll get proper fancy (or hire somebody to be proper fancy and palm it off as my own), but not to start off with ;)
Hi Paul, nice and simple and I’ve never thought about raising the back to get a better perspective. Love the marquetry pack. Any chance of getting details as to seller. Cheers Jenny
I picked up the 0.75kg "mix bag" (arrived in a box) from Top Veneer www.topveneer.com.au/product/marquetry-mix-0-75kg/
They're in QLD, so if you're in Melbourne like me, AusPost are a little slow getting past the border!
This was new to me as well. I rarely use mine, but the next time I do, I will be modifying the mounting to tilt it to give it a try.
The Wood Knight many thanks Paul. I’m in NSW and deliveries through AusPost are generally ok. Cheers
How many rubber bumpers does the scroll saw have under the machine
What is that cool countersink bit you’re using?

Me at 2:35 “Why doesn’t he use an angle cu...... oh....”
The worst bit is it didn't even fall on the floor, just fell and magnetised to the side, out of sight :(
@@TheWoodKnight Hehe. I was thinking this same thing the other night before you replied. Bet it dropped on floor or got stuck to under table or something. It's always the handsome men who are clever enough to buy the cast iron saws and not the aluminium ones.
But then comes the most important question... where the hell you gonna store the machine and stand when not in use? 😅
Its light enough and relatively small that I *can* just bring it inside to a spare room. I could use bolts for the legs instead of screws to make it smaller again, but we'll see how much of an issue it is :)
Why not have the single leg in front? More room for your legs.
CZcams fluffing 😢
I have been called fluffy and adorable brfore. Thanks!
Pretty complicated build. Could have been a lot simpler.
Thanks! I'll take that under advisement.
any scrollsaw from carbatec is not entry level, not at those criminal prices
This isn't one of the $1000+ Excaliburs, but their new saw, which is more or less the same as Timbecons saw, but with a higher power motor
@Ian Gardener It's only $90 more than the Ryobi that Bunnings sells, how entry level do you want??
@@MatthewMakesAU I couldn't find one under $1200 on the carbatec site.

Man, these colors are just so *distracting* ;)
*twitch* why are you like this?! 😭
