Those hinged table saw wings are genius
I just love the perpetual smile on your face. Almost can feel the joy inside you as you do things u love. Keep up the Spirit and may God bless and multiply your joy.
I love the way you tilted it. Very ergonomic. I can't wait to build mine.
Life goals: Find yourself someone that makes you as happy as Steve is while woodworking!! XD
i know right i was thinking that too it's funny made me smile tho! i bought the pdf just cause
A thing of beauty, Steve. Simple, elegant and functional - a hard to beat combination!
Thank you Dwight! It works great.
What struck me as the best feature was the tilt. That small detail can really make the difference. Great job Steve!
Thanks Paul! All the folks in my club have their scroll saws tilted, so thought I would try it.
Great design, Steve! Like how it tilts forward.
Hi John! Thanks! Yeah, the guys in my club have their saws tilted and I liked using it that way.
Whenever i'm feeling down i just watch your videos, because you're just so happy all the time. Great project
Hey Justin! That's good to hear. Glad I could lift you up a little. Thanks man!
Looks great the low height so you can sit to use is another great ideal.
I thought it would be most comfy for long projects. Thank you
Watching those screws get drilled in must be the most satisfying thing in woodworking :):)
Steve... No one out there looks as happy as you do when woodworking!
Oh I'm sure someone does. It is just so much fun.
Good ideal. Like the tilt design. Shelves are a nice thought also, with storage for blades and whatever else is related to a scroll saw. I'm a hobby wood worker just looking at a Dewalt DW788. This stand just scrapped the ideal of buying the saw/stand combo which is $130 extra.
Great looking stand. The cut off bin is a great idea. It's amazing how much the piles of little cut off pieces grow while scrolling.
Thanks Chris! I put the cutouts on the bins so I don't have to open them to put stuff in them too.
The happiest woodworker on CZcams! Always smiling, nice work steve
Thanks Adam! It's easy to smile when having fun.
+Adam what I was thinking
Very funny guy!
I said the same thing . Makes watching a joy 🤩. Just found page 🎉
Steve, you are one heck of a good guy. Great plan, great customer service. I haven't built it yet, but it's on my to do list, after I finish some outdoor projects from my honey do list. Enjoyed the video. With all the smiling you are doing throughout the video, I'd have to say if we were neighbors you definitely would be one of my good friends to hang out with. I like happy people.
Jim from Wisconsin.
Just finished building this stand. I am just putting together a woodshop and needed a more functional stand for my Dewalt scroll saw. Very easy build with the plans and I got it done in one day. Thanks for making it simple and functional for us beginners. Keep up the good work Steve!
Hi John! Thanks for the msg. Glad you were able to use the plans to build one. I love rolling my stand outside to cut on nice days. The Harbor Freight momentary footswitch is a good addition if you don't have one, so I suggest using that instead of turning the switch on/off a lot.
I love the harbor freight foot switch too....a fraction of the cost of others too...
Steve Good gave a link to your scroll saw video a while back. I just bought a new Pegas 21 inch scroll saw to replace my DeWalt788 which died on me. I remembered it, found the link and bought your plan. You plan looks great and I think I will have a good time adapting it for my new saw. It’s like apiece of Shaker furniture- simple, practical and yet elegant at the same time. Just subscribed to your CZcams channel. Keep the great stuff coming!
Hi Michael - Thanks for getting the plans! Congrats on the new saw, that's a nice one. I had fun designing that stand. I didn't like sitting on a stool, so I wanted one that was regular chair height. The forward tilt is easier on the neck too. I'd love to see a picture of your stand when you are done. I like seeing what customizations people do, like paint jobs and different storage ideas.
What a great idea. That design works much better than the factory one and you get built in storage it's a WIN - WIN. Thanks Steve for taking the time to share it with all of us.
Thanks Richard! It works great and it's nice to be able to roll it around and outside in nice weather.
Great idea tilting the saw towards you. Much more ergonomic that way.
Thanks! Yeah, all the guys in my club have it tilted. Sounded like a good idea to me.
You have got to be the happiest woodworker on CZcams!
Well I do like to have fun and just go with the flow. I like my shop time.
Having it an angle makes a lot of sense, good design.
Thanks Dan! It is much easier on the neck and shoulders.
Great job Steve! You are still the only person who has a constant smile on when cutting wood.
Thanks! I will have to keep a look out for someone else who smiles. I do it without even knowing it. Sometimes I"m laughing at myself. lol
+Steve Carmichael I tried to replicate your enthusiasm in one of my videos but I looked creepy and fake.
Very nice design and build video. Perhaps instead of using riser blocks for the tilt, just build in the tilt with shorter front pieces. This may further reduce the vibration. This could be made so the tilt is adjustable. I have found a tilt of about 5° works out well for me. Also, has anyone tried turning it 180° and having the narrow end in front? More room for your legs.
Very smart design on your scroll saw stand. Love that the saw was tilted and the valero on the back of the drawers.
Hey Dale! Thanks!
I love Steve's joy in what he does. I'm going to have to try this project out.
Thank you David! I appreciate it.
I had a great time building this project. Steve’s design is thoughtful and functional. I don’t build many shop projects with “design elements “ but the curves in this stand are nice touches.
Thank you Earl! Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment and getting the plans! I added the curves to get some of the sharp edges out of the way of my legs, make it more compact, and so it would just look cooler.
I don't know what it is but I always end up smiling watching your stuff. Its fun to watch. Awesome job Steve.
Good to hear Douglas! Thanks man!
Smiles are contagious! :)
OK here we go. Great video edit. Great sound editing. Great project design. You smiling the whole damn time you're making the video makes you among the best woodworking CZcamsrs. You look and sound like you're actually having fun in your shop.
Thanks! Well, I am having fun in my shop! lol I smile when I play drums too. It's some weird concentration thing and don't even know I'm doing it till I watch it back.
Great little stand for the scroll saw Steve.
Thanks Richard!
Thank you Steve
I like this design. I already built a stand to another design, so I won't build this one. But I will steal the power cord storage idea. Thanks!
Glad you could get an idea from it.
The tilt is awesome. I can see how that will make it easier on your neck/back as you won't have to lean as far forward to see your workpiece.
Thanks Matthew
Thumbs up for the screwing part that matches rhytm of the music, and for cheerful smile when working on a project
Thank you very much!
Great stand. You are always smiling bet you don't never get mad you seem so easy going.Cool stuff
Thanks Charlie! You're right. I takes a lot to get me mad, and even if I do, I try to see the good in all situations.
An excellent working space under jigsaw. Jigsaw all lovely. Like!
Thank you Aleksey!
Great design good job Steve from the UK enjoyed watching
Great design. Very neat build.
Thanks!
LOVE THE VELCRO DOTS FOR HOLDING THE DRAWERS IN!!
Thanks Chris! It works great and was a simple solution. It was funny seeing the drawers vibrate out the first time. lol
Lol!!!
I like the way you have the saw tilted so you can sit and use it. Scroll saw projects sometimes take a while, and why stand when you can sit? Your videos are always interesting and entertaining and keep things moving. Not everyone produces woodworking videos that hold my interest.
Thank you very much! Yeah, the guys in my club have their's tilted and it helps with neck strain after a while.
Glad I found this before buying a stand. What a great design!
Nice project. Making the slant adjustable instead of bolting it in at only that angle would be a neat aspect.
Thanks Daniel! Yeah, I thought about putting it on a hinge at the front with an adjustment at the back, but then I figured I'd just set it in one spot and never move it anyway. Could be useful for multiple people though.
+Steve Carmichael Agreed. Thanks for inspiring me with your projects.
Great project! I love watching your work because there are few people who have the passion you have for it. It's all over your face in every video.
Thanks Michael! I just enjoy being in the shop and making things. Never realized I smiled so much.
Sweet design Steve! The storage and cord reel are nice touches, but what really caught my eye was the sloped mounting and 3-wheel base. Talk about simple and ingenious! Now I want to go buy a scroll saw just so I can build a cart like yours.
Tkae care my friend and try to stay cool this summer.
Hi Michael, thanks! It's really nice having the saw tilted. I thought the three wheels would be kind of tippy, but the front is so wide that it's not at all. You take care too!
It's a great stand, from a great guy... Cheers from México!
Thanks for the pattern
Steve you could not buy a stand build that well. I like the way you tilted it forward, that was a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Marc!
Really nice design, seems like you got everything covered!!! Love the add on for the cord and the drawers!
Thanks Tomy!
Just purchased your plans Steve and I plan to build the stand this weekend. I think that I will modify the plans a bit. On the front mount area I plan to install a hinge and for the rear mount an adjustable height assembly. This will give me an ease of height correction for multiple users or different stools. Great video as usual...
Hi Mike, thanks for getting the plans. I like the hinge idea. I'd love to see a picture when you're done.
Thats a beautiful stand you have made.
Hi David! Thanks man!
That looks great and very functional. Really like the cord wrap. Never thought of doing something like that... Always roll the cords up and set them on the machine.
Thanks Chris! Yeah, I like to keep the cords tidy. I always step on the plugs and bend them.
Nice build Mr Carmichael.
Thanks Todd!
Very nice design Steve. Simple and functional. I also liked your video because you jumped right into the bill and showed us add-ons throughout. For me I like your presentation style. I have one more build before I can start on one of these. You have motivated me to do some thing I want it for four years
Hey, I'm glad you like it. Thanks for your kind comments! Lots of people have made this stand. I love getting pictures of them. Enjoy!
Nicely made. Simple and easy design.
Thanks Bill!
THANKS STEVE!
I watched this video from a link from Steve Good. I was going to click the like button but it was blue cuz I apparently watched it before and enjoyed it then too. Getting old makes all things new again.
Hi Stephen! Thanks for watching! Yes, I saw Steve shared my video in his newsletter. That was real nice of him to do. I watch the same videos sometimes too and don't even realize I've watched it before.
Steve - I've been on the fence of buying the DeWalt scroll saw but I think you may have helped me make my mind up. Very well though out stand. Thanks
Thanks Lynn! I love the saw. It's kind of pricey though. I had some help with gift cards thankfully. There is a new JET scroll saw out that looks nice, but more $$$.
Nice job, I'll have to make something similar before long. Regards from the UK, Eric.
Cool, glad you can use the idea Eric! I'd love to see a picture if you make one. thecarmichaelworkshop@gmail.com
Beautiful project, Steve! How great to be able to wheel the saw outside to work. And the drum throne idea: adjust the seat instead of the tool. Brilliant, buddy!
Thanks Steve! Yep, I have the throne so why not use it. That Roc-n-Soc is the most comfortable stool ever.
It's the only one I use, too.
Great job Steve. Very well thought out.
Thank you very much! Tried to keep it simple and easy to build, yet functional.
great design Steve looks like I have a new project.
Thanks Billy! Awesome! I like using it outside. I suspect that now that the kids are out of school, I might have an audience the next time I'm out on the driveway. lol
Great ideas on customizing. Drum seat seems more comfortable than other options as well. Might consider a similar set up for my small band saw.
Thanks James! The drum thrones are great, especially the really padded ones with a gas lift adjustment. Mine is Roc-n-Soc, but Pork Pie makes good ones too.
love how practical your project is. just what I need too. I have a very small shop and often have to work outside the "shop".
Thanks Gary! So glad I made this stand. It's much more comfy to sit in a regular chair to scroll than on a tall stool. I added a 1 gallon shop vac in the space on the bottom too.
great stand there Steve...
Thank you Robert!
You always have smile on your face even while building. I love it.
Thanks Jason! Always having fun.
I just bought that same saw, and now I see the perfect table for it. Thank you!
Cool, thanks David! I much prefer to sit in a regular height chair than a tall stool. Also having the saw tilted helps with neck and shoulder strain on long cutting sessions.
Great design. I love working with plywood.
Awesome scroll saw stand steve i will be making me one thank you
Thanks Luther! Hope you like the stand!
Great idea! Love the design! I love that you rounded off the corners and gave it some flare!!
nice work Steve
Muy bonito y práctico diseño Steve, me gusta mucho que siempre sonríes.
Thank you very much!
Seeing you were outside it was less than 400 degrees. I like the stand a BUNCH but I just can't come up with one for a chain saw. Oh well. Keep up the good work you boney young'un you. Us old happy roundish guys have to stick together!
Yeah, it's not 400 deg yet but I know that's coming. Maybe the heat will help me become less roundish this Summer.
I just get wet and smelly. I 'spect the round is here to stay BUT I don't live in the oven like you do.
Absolutely brilliant idea, never thought of tilting the scroll saw. Would make it much easier to use. As usual l was entertain and impressed.
Hey, thank you very much. I used my friends' saws that were tilted and liked how it felt. I think sitting at the tilted table will be a nice break from all the other stand-up shop activities.
Looks great Steve!
Hey thanks! Not sure how I missed your channel, but I'm subscribed now. Will catch up on your videos.
+Steve Carmichael thanks!
Very nice Steve. I like that stand being mobile and all the accessories you added.
Thank you Mark!
Thanks again Steve. My new saw should be here next week and then on to building a stand. Your plan is well thought out and look very functional. Keep smiling and making that sawdust. Cheers!
I subscribed because of that epic smile. I know you enjoy the work. Thanks.
Thanks for subscribing Erin! Yeah, I enjoy building this stuff. I like designing something I've never seen before, then see how it turns out.
+Steve Carmichael keep up the wood work sir
I noticed that smile right away too...made me smile!!!
Nicely done Steve that stand is tricool
Thanks Patrick!
Love the stand! Now I need to get that scroll saw.
Thanks! It is a nice saw. I think it's the most expensive tool I bought though.
I'm only half way through the video, but I'm subscribing based on the cheesy smile alone. Freaking Hilarious!!!
Great work on the project as well.
Thanks for watching, subscribing, and commenting! :)
Very nice design. Looks great.
Hey, thanks neighbor! Sure was hot today, but nice out.
Amazing stand, love it
Very nice as always Steve. I have the same saw and was given the stand as a Father's Day gift about 8 years ago. Your's is nicer than the Dewalt! Love your projects.
Thanks Ken! I haven't looked closely at the DeWalt stand, but I knew I wanted to add a few more features to mine, like the storage and wheels.
Very handsome stand. Great video and I LOVE your pleasant facial expressions. A joy to watch AND learn from your videos. Keep up the GREAT work.
Very nice Steve, looks great,
Thank you!
Need to make this for my wife's scroll saw.
That would be a real nice thing to do. Tilting it forward will save her some neck pain too.
best design I have seen, simple and comeplet.
A great scroll saw stand, I think I'll have a go at one, definately utilising the tilt option. Thanks for sharing
Thanks George! It is much easier on the neck and shoulders with it tilted.
Just finish my scroll saw stand Steve from your plans. I love it. I email you a couple of pictures.
Love your enthusiasm! I honestly get a kick out of your smile as you work in all of your videos. That shows you love what you do! I have the Dewalt Scroll saw too and have been putting off buying a stand because of the expense. I'm heading over to your Etsy shop right now to buy your plans! Thank you for all the links...very helpful. Love your builds...keep it up!👍👍
Thanks for getting the stand plans. I appreciate it. I like how I can roll it everywhere and it's light too and doesn't take up much room.
Looks great Steve.
Thanks Jon!
looks great a nice addition to any shop love the vids please keep them coming god bless keep safe
Thank you Charles! Will have more videos soon! You too!
Nice project Steve.
Thank you Hugo!
Loved the project, especially the Velcro dots trick!
Thank you Jeremy. The bins were funny looking when the vibrated out. lol
it looks great Steve.
Thank you John.
nice stand ...also u might get a foot pedal for it and put a piece of packing tape over on off switch Dewalt and deltas had trouble with the saws and dust getting into the electric parts. the foot pedal is only like $15 at harbor freight.
I was wondering if the HR pedal worked ok. It's on my list. Thanks Brent!
Awesome, you should paint it yellow and black.
I'm thinking about it. Van Halen had a black guitar with yellow stripes. Or a yellow jacket. hmmm
That would be awesome, be sure to post it if you do!
I just came upon your site Steve and have subscribed. That is a really neat design, Steve. Funny comment about your garage sharing. I'm fortunate in our garage sharing. There is a "my side" and an "our side". From the age of the videos in the comments, it looks like I have a lot of your videos to catch up on.
Hi, thanks for watching and subscribing! Someday I hope to have a dedicated shop, but the garage works for now.
Cord winder was a good thought Steve. Nice project. Just needs some Steve Ramsey colors. :-) JimE
Thanks Jim! I'm still trying to decide on leaving it as is or make it pretty. hmmm
Love that design simple and functional. Nice work as always Steve!
Thank you Doug!
Very nice Steve, I love it.
Thank you Oggybobo!
