This is the beginning of the Rebuilding. BV is following his Job Description. Recruiting, Changing the Culture & Laying the Ground Work with a Great Staff. He wasn't left with much in year One & Two.
I love the contract extension and pay bump for BV because he is moving this program the direction we want to go. I think we are getting the trenches where needs to be and love our skill players

I was listening to a SEC podcast and one of the host said he was very familiar with BV’s defense at Clemson and OU’s defense will be brutal to score against this year.

Everything LR was not doing program wise and why Joe C had reservations giving him all that he was asking for, BV has accomplished with aces. First BV had a contractual agreement that he would get this raise and extension but even if it wasn’t you pay him because of everything program wise he has done outside of just wins and losses. People are holding that first season more against him than they are giving him credit for a 10 win season. He’s ahead of where Sark was at this point and look at Sarks praises now. The way BV stripped the program down to its bare bones and has completely rebuilt it structurally, administratively, roster wise shows he has what it takes to be successful. Success doesn’t always come when you want it but BV has shown his belief in his plan and how dedicated he is to it just gives me confidence that he is the right guy. I mean who would you replace him with regarding coaches we could actually land? I can’t think of anyone so his extension and raise, even though he already had it in his original contract, was still and is worth every penny relatively speaking. Oklahoma should never be in the bottom half of the sec regarding what our HC makes. He’s the right guy and all we have to do is sit back and enjoy.
He ranks 9th in salary in the DEC with his bump. Definitely not overpaid.

I believe in the direction Venables and staff are taking the program. I hope we begin to start putting more guys in the draft so we lose position coaches. Guys like Jones and Chavis could benefit from their rooms being littered with NFL draft picks and the program would also benefit.
Any OU fan putting too much stock in year one's 6-7 is a moron. Look at the first year of the HOF coaches. Pete Carroll 6-6, Saban 7-5, Stoops 7-5...C'mon man. Don't use the King to come against this as Barry was the OC already like Riley. That is very different than taking over a new program. We are building. DHS was right nisa and bozz44.

Just know it’s not every Thunder fan. Only the ones with the strongest opinions. The strongest opinionated fans tend to be the minority as well.

I disagree and would love to see a good big inside guy that had to be double teamed. I want blocks and rebounds. I would love for it to be Eady

@@DuragAllDay maybe the style needs adjusted to have that option because the 3 isn’t always going to fall and lack of rebounding really killed the Thunder.
@@gincain7988 Rebounding isn't a problem if we make our shots at our regular season average.
@@DuragAllDayDefensive rebounding stops second chance points. This was a big problem for us during the playoffs. Rebounding can make up for an off night beyond the arc. We need at least one big guy to keep the defense honest and force space for 3s. Think about it as a modified inside-out game.
@@DuragAllDay as a coach of the game and a player I can tell you your idea isn’t a winning strategy. Great when you’re hitting but that is never a given. It is much better to have the players available when needed
