  • The Aston Martin DB11 is perhaps the post-modern grand tourer. The British marque has introduced a V8-powered model intended to broaden the appeal of the DB11 to a range of new customers. We take if for a run in California to see what it's all about.

    Beautiful colour for an Aston.

    The DB 11 is one of the most beautiful cars on the planet. It exudes style, grace, and savoir faire...three things the Japanese will never be able to replicate. There are only two Brit cars I would purchase - this DB 11 in either the V-8 or the V-12...either n the brand new convertible version, and the new Bentley Continental GT in either V-12 or V-8 versions.

    yea db11 really is nice, *seriously good looking. was hooked by the db9 era, the recent vanquish became a solid dream car to me. anyway, v8 hopefully means an all new vantage on its way!?

    The V8 is nice, but V12 is not that much more expensive, it's a proper Aston engine and it's a V12, so it's a dying breed. Maybe it's even the last gen of DB available with a V12.

      +Brendan Johannes not a chance on this one. Only a portion was shot in 4K. More 4K coming soon, though.

    God, I hope this company can get their act together and the new cars are, at the very least, as reliable as Hyundai Sonatas. I've owned quite a few cars and had the misfortune of living with a DB9 for nearly three years. They are breathtakingly gorgeous but, without question, the single worst ownership experience I've ever had to endure.

      @sgfreak96 Před 6 lety

      What era did you own that DB9 though? A 2017/2018 car is a lot different from an early model DB9, not to mention this is also an entirely different car. The AMG engine should hold up well.

    • @ThomasFerrugia
      @ThomasFerrugia Před 6 lety

      There was one era DB9; the car was essentially unchanged (except for minor upgrades) since its launch in '04. Mine was a '07 Volante and, while I completely understand the DB11 is an all new platform, it's assembled in the same factory, by the same mechanics, using similar techniques as the DB9. Unless the corporate culture's changed and AM management's suddenly become embarrassed to sell cars that fall apart while you drive them, then Mercedes electronics and AMG engines won't account for much. Besides its looks, my car's V12 was its sole saving grace!

    Excellent design in classic Aston Martin's traditions! I love this car! But quality of assembling of the elements might be better! Bad looking gaps are in car such level?

      +f1pace time constraints. I could have jumped it like i did in that old Polestar video, but there simply wasn't the time to shoot it all. It's a first drive event and that's how it works out sometimes.

      Jan-Michael Franklin I was about to post the same. If you look closely at the interior of this DB, there are some rough edges. Especially on the door cards. The stitching on the passenger door is all wavy. I’ll have the LC too. If you take into account depreciation and service costs. The LC really is a better choice.

    • @JanMichaelFranklin
      @JanMichaelFranklin Před 6 lety

      niptodstan It's way cheaper, arguably better looking, sounds better, and let's not even get into reliability.

      As an owner of an LC I couldn't agree more.

    • @goodlife1500
      @goodlife1500 Před 6 lety

      Brian Makse, I personally don't know they aren't, but from what I've read and seen. They don't seem to be known for the best of reliable. Hopefully this new one will change all of that.

    • @goodlife1500
      @goodlife1500 Před 6 lety

      Brian Makse if you had to buy with your own money? Would you buy a Lexus Lc500 vs DB11 in terms of ownership ?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  Před 6 lety +3

      +Good Life I should shoot a video with all the Aston owners who I know that have had trouble free ownership experiences. Getting tired of the Doug de Muro crap.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  Před 6 lety

      +Good Life the DB11 V8 is twice the price of the LC. I don't think they're getting cross shopped.
