  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Borton weaves stories of developing young women on the basketball court to become leaders in life. Through her stories on the court, she talks of the importance of enjoying the path to the future.
    Pam Borton is an Executive Coach, Consultant and Motivational speaker with Pam Borton Partners, a company she founded in 2014.

    In April of 2014 Coach Pam Borton transitioned from the University of Minnesota after twelve years as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. With twenty-seven years coaching Division I basketball including twelve years in the Big Ten, a highly competitive and demanding environment. Her specific focus was developing leaders, assembling successful teams, recruiting and hiring quality people, and winning her entire career.

    She has successfully developed leaders both on and off the court using a coaching model focused on developing people and peak performance. She has developed many elite players, former assistants who are now leading their own programs or organizations. Pam coached her teams to a Final Four, Elite Eight, and a number of Sweet Sixteen’s.

    This was so inspiring!!! I am a team lead and mentor as well and enjoying the journey is what I remind myself of each day. Teaching youth to be leaders it’s also a passion of mine. I’m very grateful to have heard this talk.

    You should try be an Army Recruiter. We deal with a lot of hatred from the community, lots of rejection. Yet, someone has to defend this country. Political, religious beliefs aside, who will if not the few who want to do better and defend our country?
