@@godemperorofmankind3.091 because in competition you cant just live off the 25 games before the finals series. Do you win the competition Just because you were good in the round robin? No! Eels came from no where and beat the teams that shouldve made the finals that year dogs and dragons choked when it mattered while the eels slithered passed them with ease. Eels all day
I remember watching this game from home, full of emotion being 11 years old. Jumping at tries from Goodwin and Morris + Big Hits from Hannant and Idris on Moi Moi. To crying at Mortimer’s crucial try which led to the loss of this game but mostly because of the way Hazem ducked out. He really deserved to go out on another premiership win. I can recall every moment watching from home on a giant big boxed Sony TV ahaha.
I’ve been seething for another game between these two at this level. Was a great game of footy can’t wait for another meeting between these two great teams. May 28 can’t come soon enough!!

This is why Parramatta have only played 2 grand finals since ‘86. They don’t have many players that can perform well under pressure. The 80s Eels team had guys like Sterlo, Kenny, Cronin, Price, etc. In 2001, it had guys like Hindy, Lyon and Hodgson but still lost and 2009, Jarryd Hayne almost single-handedly led the Eels to the Grand Final.

This was the real grand final. Unfortunately the Storm played the cheating game and Archer and Slater were in cahoots together. It’s a shame a team of this calibre didn’t win a grand final.

It's concerning watching parts of these games where refs disregarded someone stumbling with a concussion. I understand that is how the game was but I wouldn't call someone tuff if they've lost some if their memory or brain function after the games.
It’s interesting watching this game and thinking about the modern game, it seems a lot slower. I wonder what it would have been like if these games had 7 tackle 20m tap restarts and 6 agains.
