Chubb Rock kicked one of the best verse's in Hip Hop.
Man, I love listening to Premo. This is a man at peace with himself.
For real, his place in hip hop is already cemented.. such a legend in the game
No doubt. Preem was solidified off of his ‘93-‘95 run alone!😮💨😮💨
Yeah man started ramping around there
Great comment, Comment.
Spike Lee's movie soundtracks are CRIMINALLY slept on. His musical vision for his projects, and the musical scorers he collabs with are phenomenal.
Yes! Clockers is one of his most slept on films AND soundtracks, this had the Chaka Khan joint, the Desireé joint, and this masterpiece of true hip hop.
@@garrytreymendeziii5650 yessir. I even love the opening credits Jazz song People In Search Of A Life by Marc Dorsey.
Mo Better Blues is one of my favorite Movie Soundtracks of all time
@@dn30001 That song gives me chills. I love that record.
@@Unkle_Mike its SO slept on
I listen to this atleast once a week, those bells keep my "hip hop" soul clean...😂🙌🏾
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
You a real one
haha that's dope fam! *Gotta preserve the soul.* Respect ✊🏾
They are like wind chimes or the bell in the middle of yoga or the sound of the ocean.
Reeeeeespect - ***salute***
I still got this SEALED on 12” from when it dropped. CLASSIC.
I got 2 copys ive sctatched the shit out of lol an i used to have the covers on the walls like wallpaper
You da man
@@fijiunlimited4503 lol
Used to have this and D&D All-Stars, 1, 2 Pass It. Should’ve never sold them. Can’t recall if I ever had Classic. Love to get all three again.
@@pungisotu i kept all the best shit..when i got cdjs i got rid of my 1200s to my brother gave him all the wax to use with em an told him...the decks are yours to do what u want but the wax goes nowhere
Put Jeru The Damaja and O.C. on the same track and there is no way to lose. Spice it up with the Chubbster and oh lawd!
*Snapple facts!* 😎🤙🏾 Respect to you & your channel for preserving that real hip hop fam ✊🏾
@@SkyBlew Appreciate that!
I actually think the Chubb Rock verse is the best one.
@@gyozakeynsianism chubbs verse is defnitley the best; but standalone, O.C is doper there’s no way to lose with him on a record.
As a DJ and student of Hip Hop, this is straight up museum material. Preem will ALWAYS be the absolute pinan le to me, but I only wish other producers would do the same. Hearing stories and letting the young bucks learn a bit about how it was is crucial. I'd love to hear Kanye, Pharrell, Tip, and others do a series like this. Just hearing the similarities and differences of the thought processes would be addictive to audiophiles like me. Salute Preem. We appreciate you.
My brother’s favorite track (RIP). I listen to this song all the time and reminisce 😭
He’s the GOAT in my opinion. Other producers may have produced bigger records or have more influence but nobody has ever made better beats than premo
Chubb Rocc came back to his verse recently with the whole Barbara Walters controversy. Check the Fresh Era podcast for his episode. This man is a legend all the way back from the eighties to now.
My fave non-Gangstarr Preemo production. Being a Westcoast kid, felt like this record capture the gritty nature of NYC at the time.
Both crooklyn Dodgers joints are classics, wish they made an entire album with those legendary brooklyn emcees. BK ALL DAY!!🗽
The crazy part is, they could still do it and on Bucks label, Duck Down Records... keep it all the way BK!!!
It would have to be Primo and Q-tip producing the entire album. That 3 one by 9th wonder was wack
DJ Premier keeps being humble, giving respect while being the great producer that he is. It is so inspiring to me!
Jeru's verse is legendary!! He did it live a few years back in Amsterdam!
Chubb Rock really is a great lyricist, his delivery and voice are unmistakable!
"And if I ain't a Bboy, Premier never used a bell" -Mos Def/ Yaasin Bey
"...you don't know? You better ask somebody..." 💯 all time classic!
Preemo himself being legendary calls other artists "dope, legends, never seen artist like xyz", that's so modest of him.
Can't go wrong with this version or Q-Tip's...Classic Material!!
Yea the og is something else!! Masta Ace KILLED IT!!!!
There is a Q-Tip remix of this track? I've never heard any remix of this song (at least not an official remix).
@@HipHopHistoryGuy q tip was part one
@@HipHopHistoryGuy it’s called Crooklyn. Its on the OST.
@@HipHopHistoryGuy Q-Tip actually did the OG version..."Crooklyn". It's my personal favorite Q-Tip beat.
The first Crooklyn Dodgers always takes me back to the movie Kids where they roll a blunt to that tune.
As a native Houstonian I am proud to note that one of the greatest hip-hop producers that helped shaped the classic east coast sound came from my city 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
This just proves time and time again that love trumps hate. Y'all gotta collaborate and work with each other to succeed in all aspects of life.
That kick and snare coming in on the 3/4 is signature NYC
This was a huge hit in Poland for people who listened to rap back then. This was played by every DJ at every rap party. Salute to the master Preemo for that amazing beat!
The fact that all the verses from both songs are being mentioned as people's favorites shows just how good those MCs were. Mine is from Jeru - "chips that power nuclear bombs power my Sega..."
Yoooooooooooooooooo this was and is my joint!!! I'm glad Preem mentioned Q Tip as one of the great HIP HOP producers.
Preemo = Number One!
DJ Premier, if you are taking requests please do 1, 2 Pass It next. Also, Alchemist please do a similar channel, you have endless production hits.
I'm gonna have to top this and say "SupaStar"
@@titanjake8640 need a whole doc just on that group home album
Pete Rock and Madlib need to do one of these too
1,2, Pass and the remix was slamming
I second this.
Crooklyn and Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers are 2 of the greatest hip hop tracks ever created! I spin my doubled sided 7” on the regular 🔥♥️
The way you flipped that sample goes to show, if you know what you're doing, you don't need a big elaborated sample to make a super mega banger. You've always been the king of that. Loving this series Preem 🙏🙏
That Buck, Ed and Ace joint was 🔥. The return was 🔥 too. 90's hip hop was the best ever.
Aldo this song brings me tremendous joy, it also gives me major nostalgia to the point of tearing up... It is such a beautiful time capsule of what we were going through way back when.
Classic... one of the best hip hop songs in my opinion. One of the greatest beats of al time. Rip to the greatest.
I still get goosebumps when I hear this track. Legendary!
Still remember my best friend saw the video on Rap City. He called me to come over to watch it and I was blown away. One of the greatest tracks produced EVER!!!!!!!!!
One of my favorire Rap songs, that Clockers scene is legendary!
I don't even know what song I want to be selected next week. All I know is I'm ready
Man Preemo is like a walking, breathing hip-hop encyclopedia. His connections and knowledge just go so deep, I could listen to him tell stories forever. I hope he lives for a long time, we need this man around to be the hip-hop historian.
Everytime I hear Special Ed's verse on the original, it gives me chills..
It just hits different...
It was great to hear him again after being off the map for four years.
Preemo is so friggin humble. And it’s amazing how he ca remember details about the other rappers. Thank god I grew up in the golden era.
Nice to see Chubb Rock in good health.
One of my favourite Preemo tracks. Love how the sample is just a straight forward loop with no chops at all.
"You watch Channel Zero with that b*tch Barbara Walters" 🤣😭....classic
I remember the first time I heard this joint….man that damn piano….I ran and got the single….played it to death hoping that they’d all do a project together….didn’t happen of course but that song is a classic….one of my favorites….still listen to it on the regular
Every time that OC verse comes in.... oh man! Waves of emotions. I used to pause and replay that verse over and over. O been one of the best out for years. Classic shit.
Word! Being doing the same thing since 1995.
Premier, I don't know if you will read this. I believe this is one of the greatest beats in Hip-HOP history PERIOD. When this came out, I play it for about five hours straight on vinyl. This beat got me through high school and college. Mind you, my degree is in music including. my PhD. Thank you for everything. -Dr Chad "Sir Wick" Hughes
Dude we need Paula Perry sessions with the track Extra Extra ! With premo
Both versions are absolutely *LEGENDARY!* 😎🤙🏾
This is one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE JOINTS. The song is older than me but means the world to me. Chubb Rock, O.C. and Jeru killed it. Jeru's verse is in my top ten verses. PERIOD.
This track is everything. This video and the gems you dropped are everything. Respect.
That Young Holt Unlimited Classic!!!!
Whenever I hear that song I connect the bell sound with the kid's bike. Such a great song for a great film.
I loved watching this but gotta be real, the OG Crooklyn Dodgers is one of the greatest east coast classics of all time. Even with premier on the beat, the 95 can't top the original.
DJ Premier is the G.O.A.T.
Word already this is the best channel on your tube 👏.
I am hitting the thumbs up button already because my 2 favorite jams are part 1 and part 2 Respect
Dj Premier is a manifestation of talent, wisdom, experience and humility. He has all my respect.
And, man, salute to the floppy disc!
🇨🇱
The clean edit was dope cuz of the scratches on the cuss words
Masta Ace and Buckshot are soo slept on for real #CrooklynKids
I can't wait. One of the best tracks in hiphop. I wanna know all about those bells (or triangle sounds?).
O.C has one of the sickest verses i’ve ever heard on this joint
Once saw Jeru perform this track live at London's Mass club in the early 2000s where he switched out Brooklyn for Brixton, where the show was located. Made it even more special. Thanks, Primo!
One of Preemo’s greatest beats one of my favorites still knocks this day 🔥🔥🔥I love this series keep rocking it
I like the way he is paying tribute and respect to the pionneers. That today's most rap listeners doesnt know or care, even tho those pionneers were really influencial for the development of the HipHop culture.
Crooklyn Dodgers and Return of The Crooklyn Dodgers are still one of my top tracks of all time
One of my all time favorites. Chubb sets the tone with pure fire.
Thanks, Preem! You gotta keep these coming! Eventually you have to do one on D.I.T.C.'s "Thick," B.I.G.'s "Kick In The Door" or Ras Kass's "Golden Child." All are classics!!!
Dude! I love when premier drops a new “ so what’s up?” Keep em coming!
Tremendous series right here. What a body of work. Salute, DJ Premier! 🙌
CHUBB ROCKS FLOW IN AND OUT OF THE POCKET, THE TRANSITIONS, THE CALL BACKS WITHIN THE VERSE ITSELF..... UNMATCHED. SALUTE.
I remember hearing this loads on Kiss 100 in London when I was growing up, even back then I felt that this was a level above everything else I was hearing. And that piano / bass sample was such an ear worm, I got hooked.
I wish he would’ve spoken on Jeru’s verse, it was ahead of its time! I remember hearing it and consistently rewind to hear his verse over & over. “Subliminal hypnotism & colonialism leaves most n*ggaz dead or in prison”,🔥🔥🔥still one of the illest verses from beginning to end I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing in my soon to be 47 years of living!
I'm really liking that cover in the background. lol
One 🖤 Premier.. Thank you for reminding manz’ about the real Roxanne😍 The fly butter pecan Rican! Love and Respect to you Reina para siempre ❤️
I can't flex ..." that bell 🔔 rings " makes it more classical
Jeru's verse on this joint is one of the greatest verses ever PERIOD.
It cemented his legendary status. Everyone will always check for Jeru because of it.
Real Mfkn Talk.. Frfr
He's done better on other tracks. But Chubb Rock's verse is the one that makes the song.
Nuclear bombs power my Sega...
@@markoz673bajen8 metaphor that encompasses the interwoven hypocrisy of Capitalism
DJ Premier for president!
Keep em coming 🐐
These are the best!
God damn i miss those days! Chubb rock is the truth. Real hiphop dont die we multiply!

One of my favorite Premier beats
Keep these episodes coming Preem!!!!! Love this shit!!!! 💯👑🐐🏆🔥
I could listen to you all day. Thanks for sharing your memories.
This hole stuff here is magical, Preem! Keep it up!
This is one of the most slept on greatest hip hop songs ever. Chubbs verse is so deep that I'm just now starting to grasp some of the lines.
this beat is on my list for the greatest Primo beats of alltime

Good shit Preemo
DOPE AF!
I love that song. thanks preem
LOVE THIS
One of the best joints ever.
Another great one!!! Thank you ! That song is forever a classic
This song was such an inspiration to me . I still have the tape. I had never rapped before this song , I always thought about it but was insecure as a kid but this song and beat was so raw I freestyled to it . Spike Lee low key started my rap life too . Big ups Preemo 👑
I love this jam!!!
LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!! Respect Preemo
Hell yeah another good one can’t wait ❤️
Thanks So much Preemo,
Best series on CZcams! Keep it goiiiing
