    Hey guys, my son just bought a set of BC coilovers from you all last week and we were both a little unsure about how the whole preload thing works but thanks to the guys over at BC Racing, we were able to watch one of their awesome videos that totally explained it and how to do it etc. However, since you guys are our new 'go to' peeps for racing parts etc., I thought it would be cool if you guys did a quick video on how to preload coilovers. Forgive me if you already have a video on this, I went through your videos and couldn't find one but in my defense, I am middle aged so a little slower than y'all. Keep up the great work, guys, my son and I love watching your videos!

      600-1000 at max. Same goes to any other body kit thats made out of plastic. Once the mold is made, more they sell cheaper it becomes for them. Like most selled product like S13 bunny kit is probably paid it self long time ago and cost is pure cost of plastic = 20 bucks.

      well, you can build your own "rocket bunny" style body kits and make a profit if they were that cheap to design and make.

    Not sure if you’ve covered it before but I’d like a video on measuring your car to calculate your maximum offset. Or the measurements a wheel manufacturer will ask for when buying custom offset wheels. People mess it up a lot and it’d be nice to know how to do it properly. Thanks looking forward to buying some wheels when I find the S550 Mustang I’m looking for.

    I have a BC adjustable kit on my 2005 E55 and I absolutely love it. It makes the car feel more like a proper sports sedan than the marshmallowy AirMatic did and removed the problematic system that is an issue in many of these aging cars. The kit went in without any issues and I got it through FCP Euro so it’s got a lifetime warranty for as long as I own the car. It completely transformed the driving experience in my lightly modded AMG and it now hooks up and handles like a much more modern car while still retaining the ride quality you expect from a Mercedes. Great product in my experience and would buy again.

    I installed these in my 2008 335xi and i couldn’t be happier. Aside from some minor squeaking and playing with adjustments (to be expected with ADJUSTABLE coil over kits), I can’t complain at all especially with the price and the fit and finish of the kit. It was very very well packaged and the kit came with everything it was advertised with. They aren’t bad for a daily driver. My OEM shocks were void of fluid since they rusted through completely.

  • @goldblade84
    @goldblade84 Před 5 lety +7

    As I posted in another video, BC Racing w/ Swift Springs is significantly more comfortable than KSport (at the same spring rates), but for road use it is still harsher than custom lowering springs on OEM Struts (with increased spring rates), and is actually too smooth for my liking. If you really want to coils, I'd definitely recommend them over KSport though.
    However unless you drive on perfect roads, or you track the car, and need dynamic dampener settings, coilovers IMO are never a set and forget suspension solution. What is most comfortable for local driving is too bouncy for highway driving. And what is best for highway is too harsh for local.
    Lowering springs at +20%F/+25%R spring rate (don't necessarily copy my staggered setup, I have a FWD and wanted to counteract understeer) will in my subjective opinion perform at around 80-90% of what the KSports can do, while having a subjective score (from a girl who knew nothing about car suspension) that is 2.3X higher than KSports... which IMO is definitely the balance I'm looking for in a daily.
    If you want to slam for looks etc. do you.
    But I think I'm among the top 10% of fastest drivers on the road in the dry, top 1% fastest driver in the snow, and I never have to baby my car because of the suspension like when I had coilovers on.

    • @pressrolls
      @pressrolls Před 2 lety

      Really?? BC is significantly more comfortable than KSPORT (!!!) ?? That's like saying getting hit in the balls with a hammer is more comfortable than being hit in the balls with a bat. Both are absolute garbage.

    • @goldblade84
      @goldblade84 Před 2 lety

      @@pressrolls I'm just comparing with the OEM and my Lowering springs. BC with the Swift Springs was actually too soft for my liking, I think it was an alignment problem more so than a coilover problem, but it felt too smooth or too easy in transitions where I didn't get a good feel of where the car was on the road when I started to turn it. It certainly wasn't uncomfortable like the KSports where it banged my head onto the roof, but then again I had custom selected my spring rates for the set that I bought and had them re-valve it to fit the spring rate.

I will agree their higher end stuff is pretty decent. I moved up to Fortune Auto 500's simply because of the warranty and ease of service.

Soon after the company was formed, it specialised in disc brakes, which were imported from the UK at the time. The company entered into a supply contract with Alfa Romeo in 1964. It became the supplier of brake components to Moto Guzzi in 1966.
      In the 1980s, Brembo began supplying BMW, Chrysler, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Porsche with brakes. The company went public on the Milan Stock Exchange in 1995.
      Brembo specialises in performance braking systems and components, as well as conducting research on braking systems. Brembo sells over 1,300 products worldwide, and is known for their aftermarket automotive brake components, including calipers, drums, rotors, and brake lines. Except in the North American market, Brembo owns the foundries which produce their initial materials and supply the manufacturing plants. In all other markets the company controls the entire production system from raw materials through distribution. The company holds QS9000 and ISO 9001 certifications.
      Brembo brakes are also used by a variety of Formula One teams including Ferrari, and brake supplier of the majority of MotoGP teams

      Sam Meyer early kustoms(the predecessor to low riders) used to weigh the car down and or cut/heat up the springs to reset them to sit low these were the more stylised versions of hot rods of the day early kustoms had 3 styles mild where the car would be lowered and may have some bolt on parts like grills changed
      Bombs (that eventually became low riders) would generally have the same style as a mild but would be lowered further and have wilder paint jobs and additional chrome added
      And full kustoms where the body would be extensively modified to appear lower and sleeker
      Hydraulics didn’t appear til the late 50’s
      Low riders like most modified car styles can trace their routes back to the hot rodders of the 20’s and 30’s where kids were modifying street cars to be as fast as they could get them at the time they probably didn’t realise it but when they were lowering the roof line and raising the floor to lower the body they were improving the drag which made the car faster
