Devin never overpowered his opponents he outboxes them and relys on his shell defense but in in this case he couldn't react to Ryan's speed which led to him get punched by power he couldn't endure. When your dont have the power to overwhelm or keep up with your opponent or can't rely on defense and outbox them your just going to get your as whooped
Also Devin doesn't throw many punches at all. He doesn't have combos. You can hurt a guy if you throw enough times even though it's not powerful. He's a jab and grab type of fighter. Very one dimensional and boring. I'm happy Ryan beat him. Boxing is better for it.

Devin Haney looks good against boxers who have too much respect for him, or who are smaller than him and who try to box correctly. Ryan Garcia was whaling away like a street fighter, and loading up on the left hook, and Haney had no answers. Garcia's chin was up and poor defense, but Haney is not Tank, and he doesn't have the power to make him pay. Haney's dad should have saved him after the knockdown in the 7th - If Bill Haney hadn't talked so much trash, Devin would have got the respect he deserved for fighting to hear the final bell.

Ryan outboxed Devin in several rounds, in addition to hurting him badly and knocking him down. Devin landed a few clean power shots on Ryan and he shook it off. As Rayo indicated, if Devin had power he likely could have hurt Ryan when he turned his back on him with the "shoulder roll".
