From a former Disney World cast member. During the summer, stay on the side walks when possible. The doors to the shops are always left open so you can catch a cool breeze from the AC's as you walk by.

As a Floridian when you said that can be a monsoon one minute and sunny and the next. There’s a third option, both of them at the exact same time. I’ve had to wear my sunglasses in the rain on multiple occasions
That’s everywhere in the south. I live in north GA and that’s a common occurrence
We always bring individual Propel, Gatorade or Pedialyte drink mix packets with us. Super convenient, lightweight, no issue with flying, etc. This is much easier than trying to bring Gatorade bottles. Just mix one into a free ice water from a counter service location. Works well for us.
that’s actually so smart
Great advice.
Yep, Ive always done this too, crystal lites from Walmart before we go
Liquid IV, works for potassium deficiency. Thoses cramps you get, headaches, muscle twitch.
1000% with you on that!!
Thank you so much for starting the conversation on keeping your phone out of others' field of vision during shows.
And in your pockets on dark rides.
0:01 yes it is. I went with my cousins who didn't want to do anything, my dad who hated the sun, my aunt who only wanted to shop at gift stores, my brother who wanted to do all of the rides he was too small for, and my mom who was screaming at us all. it was fun ofc (its Disney world lol) but the right people make the trip a lot better.
This is why we have agreed to all go in our own directions and only meet back together for meals LOLOLOLOL
That is why we went and told the relatives about our trip AFTER we came home, made the trip so enjoyable not to listen to their petty squabbles.
@@Notta_Brat that's very smart
Don’t be scared off or overwhelmed by all the tips. They are just that - tips to make some things go more smoothly. It’s like someone telling you not to forget the mosquito repellent when you go camping.
"It's always gonna rain." I'm considering myself lucky that we've always somehow avoided Florida rain!! For anyone wondering, those trips were in the November and April months.
We always do our Long Trips in November and January and usually have the best weather with very little rain. The rainy season in generally from mid May to Mid October (We live 2 hours away near Vero Beach).
It rained every day i was in Orlando. I knew that going in.
I have been several times and almost always got rain. I’m just expecting it. The best was April warm but not super hot. The worst was august.
I once had a 4 day trip in September and it didn’t rain at all. I consider it a miracle 😆
We have always lucked out too. And we go nearly every month!
I just got back from my trip in August and I’m STILL watching these videos daily 🙃
Choosing the right hotel is very important! My fiancé and I just went last week for our 8 year anniversary/engagement and we stayed at Coronado Springs and it was lovely!! So romantic and quiet and lowkey. We ended up skipping Disney Springs on our Disney Springs day and just stayed at the hotel and relaxed by the pool. Much better than staying at one of the more "kiddie" resorts.

We are leaving in 2 days! It’s my boyfriends birthday and he has no idea. I’m going to surprise him when he comes home from work that we’re leaving to spend 3 days and 3 nights at Disney. He’s never been before(:
ahhh that's awesome!!! I hope y'all have the BEST time!!!
Sooo…. How'd he react??
@@mothercain.. I’m not surprising him until Friday. He’s gonna come home thinking we’re leaving the next day but I’m gonna tell him surprise! We’re leaving now- here’s your suitcase let’s go.
I’ll update Friday night(:
Eeeekkkkk so exciting! Have a great time!!!
That's so sweet! He will be so excited!!
I think Disney killed the magic by nickel and dimeing people to death and too many rules, poor Walt......
Always a shame how early he died in the history of Disney. I wonder what it would be like had he lived into his 80-90's.
I have NEVER had as much anxiety about planning a vacation as I have doing my Disney vacation. There’s too much to plan now, and you can’t just go to parks, and getting dining reservations on a whim😩😩
Youll be fine
we didn't plan anything ahead of time except which days we went to each park bc of having to make reservations. we were there in August and had a blast!!
I agree. I am going Dec 12 and have never been this stressed thinking about virtual passes, mobile ordering, etc.
That, too many people, waaaay too much money for all of it, and the heat/humidity are why I will never go. I want to, but I won't.
Agree
In the same category as fireworks etiquette: please hold your child on your hip instead of your shoulders. Kids aren’t the only short people in Disney 😅🥰🎆🎇
Great tip. People are so rude during fireworks.
Get there early so you’re up front
@@jamesnelson5536 good tip but with these wait times you got to skip the fireworks and go for the rides during that time
@@XteamMAB you can?
Personally, I think the kids should get the priority viewing. Just my opinion. If I can’t see because there is a kid on their parents shoulders, it’s fine, I’m glad they can see clearly
As far as carrying a white noise machine, CZcams has great long videos with fan noise or any other noise you enjoy. It’ll save from carrying a fan or white noise machine. It’s a godsend for me in hotel rooms!
I disagree. The videos have too much of an electronic sound and they don’t work for me and my son. Can’t beat my Marpac Dohm machine I never travel without it.
We just came back Saturday the biggest mistake was to wait to buy a souvenir. There were 3 items I wanted and I said oh well I'll get it on our last day, there is plenty left over. All of the things I wanted were gone.
There is a packet called hydro-water and this works GREAT for dehydration!!! I personally like to add a packet of lemonade to make the taste more appealing. 😋
I have them packed for our first ever trip to Disney... so glad toknow i planned something right!!! Thank you!!!
Would like to see a video of food souvenirs... Like souvenir cups from drinks or food that you can only get by ordering food.
If you can make so many mistakes going to a themepark something is seriously going wrong.
Love your videos tho :) Thanks for all your tips!
Yes, I totally agree. Disney Corp has ruined vacations.
legit who wants to be so stressed when youre going on vacation lol
Right now, after looking at all that can go wrong, I can sum up all these mistakes into one: going to Disney, period.
Swan and Dolphin are seriously a godsend. Also if you are Costco member can get an AMAZING deal deluxe resort for moderate prices. Maybe not the best if you want Disney theme 24/7, but for everyone else it's the best. Seriously stay there all the time now. Just hope the secret doesn't get out too much.
When it comes to mousekeeping… just recently returned from a 10 day vacation, on the third day I suffered heat exhaustion and ended up needing the bathroom cleaned. Called the front desk explained the situation and they were super helpful. Echoing AJ, keeping extra water and Gatorade in the room fridge kept me from having to visit the ER.
Hope you're all better!
U can’t really practice getting a virtual queue unless u have a reservation. I have Disneyland magic key and I have tried just to see if there were any available. U can now add all your party to the list before 7am so all u have to hit is the refresh button at 7 to get those passes. I was able to get rise of the resistance passes this past Sunday and it was easy
“In the summer there are only 2 guarantee temperatures: Hot and Humid” listen to the lady folks especially about the weather in general. Had a math teacher who moved to Florida who made this comment: “why don’t you kids bring your umbrellas on days it’s gonna rain instead of huddling under the covered walk ways and get to class faster”. Us just staring at the man saying: sir the weather is never accurate you only know it’s gonna rain 30mins before. He changed his tune by the end of the year. Always be ready for that Florida weather shift.-Florida Local who has been here for 20+ years.
Thank you for advising against the “my party’s just ahead of you” ploy.
I was in the park at the same time as a large high school crowd was visiting. One chaperone was doing this with a rowdy group of about a dozen teenagers. I stopped him and suggested that those of us already waiting in line for the last 30 minutes would be happy to allow the small group ahead to come back and join their friends at the back of the line, without trampling on the landscaping, and we can each wait in line together. I didn’t make a fuss, but they settled down. Most of them returned. Through the landscaping again. Which could have gotten them kicked out.
I could vouch for last week (sept 6-10, 2021). Longest wait for anything at all 4 parks was Mickey & Minnie’s railroad for 40 minutes. Most other rides, no longer than 30 minutes with some 10s or even 5s. Best time to go imo.
Art of Animation has always been the safest choice with kiddos for us!
Liquid IV, for Potassium Deficient. Bring at least two per day.
(To the nice Lady on the boat in 2018, THANK YOU, you have saved me many a cramp)
Great for hydration is a product called Hydrant. It’s in a powder form and doesn’t take a lot of room in your bag, isn’t full of sugar like Gatorade and mixes well with water warm or cold and not nearly as expensive as smart water. Got through 6 marathons including a Disney run with it.
I’m 100% an ice person LOL. It’s a must as soon as I get to any hotel, it makes the sink water drinkable somehow:
I’m so used to icing my water at home using the dispenser in my fridge door that having tepid water has almost become unpalatable. I have to have the ice. 🧊🧊🧊
My wife and I absolutely love all of your videos, thank you so much for helping make our Disney trips even better❤️
At 37:47 I NEED one of those hats! I refreshed that logo as a WDI intern many moons ago.
With videos hitting 42-53 minutes, you might as well be picked up by Disney+
At Disney prices, I shouldn't be hearing any noisy or upset kids from nextdoor. It's called soundproofing. Come on disney. How cheap can you get?
Wow, Karen much?
Doesn't make them a Karen.
It makes them somebody (like most people) who have no desire to listen to your crotch goblins screaming and crying all the way through their vacation.
If they can't control their kids, they need to keep them home.
@@crystalfarley7359 - crotch goblins?! 🤣 That is hilarious…
A few months before my vacation and reading these titles on DFB gives me anxiety! Have a magical day! 😬😭🤗
she overreacts a lot
While I was watching this I was like, poor newbies! These videos can be really informative and I love them for my Disney fix, but I always think this information overload is very anxiety-provoking. Also, the amount of junk she had packed in that park bag is extreme overkill. Have a great, chill time!! 😁
@@shannonbk6860 thank you Shannon! There's definite overkill. I've been subscribed to her channel for two years. I've been visiting Disney World since I was a kid. Haven't been back to Disney in a few years and this time I'm staying on property an I feel defeated listening to some of AJ's videos. Disney is expensive but the atmosphere and memories should make it worth the trip.
Love your humor AJ! Definitely about the rain and lugging around heavy items - get a locker for extra clothes and souvenirs and stay hydrated
That works great, we did and were so amazed more people don't do this!
Time to get the popcorn and enjoy this lengthy episode.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm always so relieved when I get caught in some rain at Disney. Such a relief from the heat lol
Also know that Disney no longer brings the Floral and Gift orders to your room. This includes the decorations. You must set them up yourself.
AJ, you made our Disney trip so perfect because of all your videos and now that I'm watching this video, I did amazing because all your advice so THANK YOU!! You are incredible!!
Definitely get fresh ice as soon as you get back from the parks! We used that ice every day and nothing was worse than having a melted bucket of ice water 😩
I was at the opening of Disney world when it was only that went back several times when I was in Florida. So sorry to hear so many rides have closed they had many a happy memorys for me.
When I watched one of your videos a few months back...I said to myself "eh, I ain't never going to Disney"...but now I constantly watch your videos and it's great knowing all these tips haha you got my follow 😊 and recently my friends and I are now planning a trip to Florida sometime in March or April. I told them about your channel and now they're leaving me in charge for the planning, I already got a notebook full of tips and tricks from your videos haha so thanks a bunch for these videos haha they really, REALLY do come in handy
After many trips, I feel u know my stuff - I nod along with many of your tips, but I always learn something new!! Thank you!!
Thanks AJ for this super valuable post. Leaving tomorrow morning for a 9-day stay and you gave us four tips I hadn't thought of or heard elsewhere! 😍
We are going to Disney World in November and your videos are helping so much. Thank you AJ!
Drinking around the world is also more expensive than many people realize - drinks cost $10-16 each so that’s $110 to $176 per person! That’s another park day, a fine dining experience, an after hours party, a spirit Jersey and a pair of ears and a mug…. Get the kidcot passport and share a drink or snack at each country as you tour the world showcase
Drink enough water, its soo important, The Florida heat and all the walking can make people forget to drink water. When I worked at EPCOT most people I met who where ill was due to dehydration, And we always gave out free cups of water when people asked. So ask for free cup of water :)
It was an emotional roller coaster back in April when I snagged ROTR boarding group 6. Then I realized that I had a 8:50am breakfast at Topolino's with HS opening at 9. I rushed over to Topolino's for opening time (I think 7:30am) to see if they could help me out and seat me early. Luckily they could. Even still, only made it into the ROTR queue with 5 minutes to spare in the hour return window. (29:45)
I am too nervous to book a dining reservation on my Hollywood Studios day in case I am able to get a ROTR boarding pass.
@@jeanettesmith765 same! We go in a couple weeks and we will just grab quick service on our HS day. I am not taking a chance!
Imma end up planning a vaca to Disney... and these videos are gonna be a lifesaver. I love your videos! Thanks for putting all this work and love into every one you make!
Always a GREAT job AJ! Love your videos! Is there someplace that you could make a "listing" of usual expenses that we need to know now? Ex: park ticket ranging from ______ to _______; park rides (new now with Genie +); parking; magic bands; dining plans; average meals; snack range; Mears shuttle; resort mugs:-------the typical "required" things we have to budget for. DFB is much appreciated for updating us in our planning! It's definitely different Disney details than what I've been doing for 20 years.
One time we were in line for Seven Dwarfs and some clouds rolled in. Then, of course, it started to rain so they closed the ride. But then.........lightning struck the ride. So after waiting for probably an hour before the rain started. Then about 15 minutes during the rain. Kaboom. Now the ride is closed due to the lightning strike. Ugh! Of course this was on our last day so we didn't get to ride it that trip.
A.J. I love the way you 'make fun' of every day things on these videos. Everybody is asleep here and I'm trying not to wake them up by chuckling at your funny jokes. Take care my dear.
I'm actually planning a Disney trip as we speak, so this was perfect timing, AJ!
I’ve been to WDW a ton over the past few years, and the people cutting line saying “my party is right up there” has gotten SO BAD the last 6 months. Last month it happened to me 3 rides in a row! If you got split from your party, they can step to the side and wait for you to catch up. Don’t be that person who thinks moving up in line is cool. It’s not.
Yes it was bad over the summer at DW and Universal. If you see one person in front of you on their phone chances are they are waiting to tell someone they are close to the ride and to join them. Employees will do nothing about this.
I was waiting 4hours at flight of passage amd a whole family did that 8 persons. I was so mad!!!! 😡🤬🤬🤬
I love Disney. Go often as I can. There is no wrong and right way as long as you enjoy yourself and leave feeling good.
Love these long videos 😍 16 days until my next trip 😊 I'm getting hyped!
Thank you AJ. Just when I think I'm losing interest (just cancel it) in our vacation next year you remind me that we're going to have so much fun. I appreciate that. ✌️🌞🌻🎉🎶🌴
I'm still anxiously awaiting the return of the dining plan just for the simplicity of being able to order what ever we want for a sit down and not have to worry about the pricing.
I am from a country where drugs are highly regulated and it's crazyyy to me that you can just buy advil at a hotel gift shop. By the way if you ever go to disneyland paris you won't be able to buy any medications there and as far as I know there is no pharmacy delivery.
Oh my gosh if you use your phone on a dark ride- I LOATHE you. Think of OTHERS! I have astigmatism and it RUINS everything 😭😭😭
I once had the stomach flu. We had lunch reservations at 50’s Prime time. My husband showed up two hours in advance, and canceled our ADR,they did not end up charging us.
At Disney Now. Love your advice.
I used to go to DW at least once a year. I live in Nebraska, but it was where I liked to vacation. I have not been there for 7 years And it now sounds like a total nightmare. I once was able to take my nieces, nephews and extra family members to have one adult for each child. I coved all costs and spending money. Their is no way I could afford for just me to go now due to price increases. The prices of tickets is so inflated now and the other charges for every little thing are incredibly ridiculous. There is no reason they charge this much, especially given the fact that the quality of everything has decreased in the past years. The food is less in size and quality and double what it cost before. Transportation used to be so easy from park to park and to and from hotels. With a park hopper you could park hop at any time of the day to any park, You didn’t have to have reservations to any park we didn’t have to do all these extra steps that are required which makes the vacation a nightmare. The fast passes worked decently enough for the most part, and it was free. There needs to be added bonuses for staying on Disney property which they have now taken away pretty much. So basically now it’s half vacation it used to be at about 10 times the price.
Going in February for the first time since 2010 and your channel has been amazing!
FYI: in a previous video she mentioned that adults can order kid’s meals at Disney World restaurants. Most restaurants, especially Topolino’s Terrace, did not let me order a kid’s meal due to being over the age of 12. I was able to order kids meals for myself over the app for those that have mobile ordering. The kid’s meals are perfect for when you are tired but just need a small meal after staying in the skyliner, bus or monorail line for an hour.
T-Rex was a MUST for us when kids were younger..now their “must do” is DeLuxe Burger 🤣
The grocery store on the board walk was a life saver when it came to hydration. Luckily we stayed in the Boardwalk hotel so it wasn't far when we were dying of thirst
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THIS INFO IT WILL BE VERY HELPFULL WHEN WE GO IN MAY 2022
Fantastic And Sooooo Helpful AJ! Thank You Sooo Much! Stay Safe!💖🥂😉
thank you! it’s been a while since i’ve been and i didn’t know a lot of these tips :-)
HEARING AJ SAY "SUS"IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING LMAOO
AJ you have no clue how much I needed a 53 minute video today 😩
37:24
That reminds me when I was a CM I told a ton of people to hold it where they were so my fellow CM could push their cart back to base it was fun
Did you say TRex is very expensive? Mushroom Ravioli $24.79
Lobster cream sauce, Roma tomatoes, spinach.
That is not expensive compared to other Disney options. Also, I'd rather see monkeys freak out then sit in boring Wine Bar George and eat "Very expensive" small plates, but to each his own. Everyone enjoys a different atmosphere on vacation esp at DIsney.
Great points thank you. Another winner as usual
i love being early to videos 🥰 your channel is my favorite!!
I caught mono two days before our family vacation in Florida. Bad timing for mononucleosis!! I purchased an insurance for canceling for reasons beyond your control. Phew. 8 days for 4 people was a pretty penny, especially flying from California to Florida! My plan was for us to try try again...my mono turned into chronic fatigue sooo I'm still wanting to go. Meanwhile I'll keep hydrated. No one needs a 3 day headache. Ouch AJ, that must have been a bummer!! 👋🏻😀🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁💕
I love your longer videos!
Same!
Love seeing all the things we are doing right, and a few that we were doing wrong
Thank you for the Mears tip, I did not know about it. Just got on there and reserved for our upcoming vaca. I knw Magical Express was gone but not what replaced it.
New idea, people can send in videos of them at Disney World or land and they review something they just experienced, and u can stick it on your Instagram stories
Love these hydration powder packets. Highly recommend!
This will work best to those who have access to transportation, but if you go off property on the east side past Disney Springs (Apopka Vineland Rd), there is a Walgreens less than a mile in either direction. Easy and fairly economical if you need basic meds, sunscreen, etc.
We stayed at the Dolphin and it was absolutely fabulous.
Thank you, A.J. 😀.
I never did figure out the bus system when I went to Disneyworld!
You just wait for a Bus that has the location you want on the window sign… get on and have fun! Simple. You just can’t go hotel to hotel. So if you want to get to another hotel you have to go to a park or Disney springs first then switch busses to the other hotel
This is great!! Being kind to cast members will get you far! Magic can happen!! That what to pack for the park video is awesome also!! Study up my friends!!
you're so sweet for making this! : )
Your very sweet, thank you!
Yes an hour of my favourite thing to listen to when I’m working on a project in my van!
Haha! I'm a bit older than you and I'm ALL ABOUT the ice!!! 😁 Going to the ice machine is one of the first things I do after checking into a hotel.
When training for and doing my full and half marathons I carried salt packets with me. When the electrolytes go to low, I would lick my hand or dump water on it then dump the salt on my wet hand then lick it off. It is gross and tastes nasty but it is better than an electrolyte crash!
I just left in April 2022 I still watch this video and planning another trip very soon
I can't afford to Disney so call me bitter if you want, but all the check in and lists sound like a absolute pain. I usually like to go where I feel at the time and if it's fun I'll wait in line and do it again, vacations should be relatively relaxing.
Handicap placards are so useful at Disney. I didn't realize just how helpful it would be until I brought mine.
AJ the voice of WDW
“It’s always gonna rain”
so true- I remember once my family went to Disney and it rained *SO HARD* for around an hour. We were stuck under the little tent on the Jungle Cruise waiting area for the whole hour, and we spent most of it eating goldfish
For a solid 5 seconds I thought you meant goldfish like the actual fish. I genuinely was like “I know an hour is a long time but it’s not eating live fish long” 😂
You can get Emergen-C packets or pedialyte at the dollar tree. I will use the packets when I feel parched and it helps a lot.
Put a little sea salt in your water. I know it sounds odd but it also adds electrolytes. Or Mio with electrolytes if you need some flava!
Sodium isn’t the only electrolytes you need. Potassium and magnesium are also very important, hence suggesting pedialyte or Gatorade
"It's gonna rain." Yep, it sure will. Rained darn near every day on our trip in 2011. But we also saw some amazing rainbows!
Does this channel have a sister channel for Disney cruising??
I'm 100% one of those people that always has to have ice in their water/drinks! If its not cold, chances are I won't drink as much water. Great video! Thanks.
Yea me to
Same here. We went to Europe a few years back and they never put ice in their drinks. It was torture to me lol. Luckily we were on a cruise and the cabin guy knew I liked ice so when we came back from our excursions there was always a big bucket of ice waiting for me. He was a life saver
