The Cheapest Food in Disney World

- You don’t need to be spending $200 on dinner every night in Disney World, or $50 every time you stop for snacks for the family. There are bargains to be found in the theme parks, if you know where to look.

50's Primetime Diner once made me a completely off-the-menu brownie for my dessert, thanks to my allergies making all the on-menu desserts off-limits, and to this day I still think of that brownie. It was as big as two slices of cake, slathered in gooey syrup, and just... one of the best desserts I've ever had. THE best I've had from a restaurant. I will always sing the praises of 50's Primetime Diner.
Aww that's awesome!!
This story absolutely melted my heart! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
That is so sweet! They really do make it a magical experience for everyone! ❤️
Aw, that’s so sweet. Was it a milk allergy? Or nuts?
Disney popcorn is amazing (especially if you have people with lots of allergies...it's dairy-free so my nieces who are allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts and gluten can all enjoy it - just beware of the carts that have a specialty flavor because sometimes those get mixed together), same thing with Dole Whip, they can both enjoy it so we love that Disney has these options!
Jesus how can on person be allergic to that many things? That has to be the worst
@@ricanvibez It definitely makes family get togethers interesting!
Do you happen to know if you can use the refillable popcorn buckets at any of the parks? Or just the one you bought it from?
@@jodinsmith1 you can use them at any park.
@@HandleHandle233 my family and I go to Disney world every year and from my experiences, the vendors have let us reuse our bucket that we bought the year before (or maybe even two years before but i wouldn’t count on that just in case) but Disney does say it expires after your stay, so i would try it out and if it doesn’t work the worst thing that could happen is you just have to get a new one :)
So glad Nomad Lounge made it on the list. My husband and I enjoyed this in December on our adults-only trip. I agree that they have the best churros on property and was pleasantly surprised with their $10 ribs, which was our biggest "steal" of the trip.
I am a Marriott rewards member so I stay at the Swan and Dolphin. The Fountain has creamier soft serve than any Disney location which I much prefer.
Which hotel is better in terms of facilities and number of rooms with balconies, Swan or Dolphin? Thanks.
The bakery in Morocco also has mix and match pastries! 2.50 each and then a discount as you purchase more!
Its not on the menu but you can ask for the Fried Chicken at Trail's End and they'll serve it.
My two cents...my last trip I drove (from CT) with a cooler of food. We stayed at the cabins in Ft Wilderness. Day 1 I cooked and stored the food. (I needed some additional casserole dishes which guest services provided.) We ate about 1/2 of our meals in the cabin. This was done more for nutritional reasons than costs. Disney World is a physical challenge best met on a wholesome diet. We ate out enough to try a few new things, so a good compromise.
Our last trip we spent in a 1 br at Old Key West. It had it's own kitchen, which was very helpful.
Literally just waiting for them to announce the dining plan is back before we book our next trip. 😂
I was devastated to find out the dinning plan wasn’t available when i booked my trip!! Hopefully it’ll be back soon
Still waiting 😭
@@collettelowry4227 still waiting! We can’t afford a trip with these gas/airline prices right now anyway lol
@@The_Alexandra_B we said screw it and booked a trip to Universal 🤷♀️ I’m tired of waiting on Disney to bring everything back (DDP, all character meals, Fantasmic and at this point I might as well wait until Tron is done) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Disney is way too expensive for me to not get the trip I want. We will be back one day but for now Harry Potter/Jurassic World here we come!
3 words my friends...CARROT. CAKE. COOKIE. 😃
I started watching some DFB videos to prepare for a Disney trip a couple years ago and after hearing Sanaa mentioned a few times I booked a reservation for lunch during our animal kingdom day. It was the best meal we had of the trip and the bread plate that they have could have easily fed the three of us with out our added entrées, but those were great as well. Thanks DFB for a great recommendation.
I literally just watch these videos for fun planning to do never have I’ve been watching this channel since 2019 and just enjoy it
Same
Me too
Gluten free churros?! 😮Wow! Hard to find snacks like that. Made me so hungry AJ. I had to stop video several times t look up menus of restaurants LOL.
9 more days!!! I can’t wait, I’ve been watching all of these videos preparing. This will be my fiancé’s first time, and a surprise for my 10 yr old. He’s expecting me to be the tour guide and “know it all” because I’m indulging in all of DFB vids. Hahaha
We love the all you can eat places, especially Garden Grill and Tusker House. Both always have great food and character interaction. Well worth the price. Never been to The Fountain, but I'm definitely going to try it now.
Off subject - I love listening to you! You just sound happy! Thank you for filling my Disney need, with a sweet attitude.
I am loving your CZcams channel. We are going to DW in January and really appreciate all the tips we are getting. The only problem is your channel makes me hungry every time I watch it.
I can. not. wait. to get the pulled pork mac and cheese from Flame Tree BBQ.
Yesss, poutine! It's one of my many locations as a CM in Disney Springs c: So fun to make, and even better to eat!
requesting an updated vegan video once again! thanks!
Hi DFBGuide, thank you for your content as always. I had a proposal for a video: ranking the sauces of Chicken guy. Keep it going!
11 days!! So glad I watched! Love you guys.
Via Napoli is great. The pizza is amazing. We just came back from our Disney trip we ate at via Napoli and 50’s prime time cafe.We decided to get the Carmel corn at Epcot, it was unfortunately stale.
The last time I was at WDW was 1989 and the best food I had on the trip was the baked mac n cheese at the food court area outside of the Land. I know the area has been redone probably countless times, but that thick square of baked goodness will forever haunt me! Love these videos and so wish it was quicker and easier to go!
Food has changed there but it’s still hands down the best quick service food you can get in future world. I’m kinda surprised AJ doesn’t talk about it.
Great as usual. Thank you😎🌴✌️
Ill be taking my first solo trip in September cant wait!!!!
That sounds so great. You can do whatever you want whenever you want. Have a safe and fun trip!
That’s very exciting.. I would love too go solo one day.. ❤️
I took a solo trip - it was such a fun trip and I had a lot of fun people watching. (it was pre-covid) so I was able to sit with folks I didn't know, share tables/benches/rows in rides and didn't have to worry about my kids or other folks not being up to ride something or having to seat 5-6 people. :P And also, I didn't have to talk to anyone, lol Just take in the sights and do what I wanted! I even had some dining reservations for food they wouldn't normally eat, it was amazing.
I've been going to WDW on solo trips since the 90s. Solo trips are better than multimember groups for the primary reason of there being no requirement to agree to set eating times, no meeting at X place at X time, and you can go back and forth to whatever park you want to visit without a need to agree in advance. The downsides of solo visits include higher cost of hotel rooms and the awkward announcement "Willner party of one" over the PA system. I enjoyed every solo visit I've had to WDW.
Bout to head for the Airport! Here goes nothin' lol
Love it all. Thank you!!
I literally pack 3 meals in my cooler backpack, so this video was made for me. 😌
I went in the beginning of July!!! I ate popcorn while my family was on a ride. No regrets 👌🏼
50's prime time food seemed fresher than Sci-Fi diner.
I think sci-fi is mostly for the atmosphere. I didn't think the food was bad though.
@@justsomegirl9085 I personally didn't like the food at all. That was in December 2018, they don't even have the bbq platter on the menu any more. Now it's all burgers with a few other options
I’d love an updated what’s best to eat in Hollywood studios video or ranking the restaurants
Definitely useful info!
here's an easy tip for trying out the idea of the pongo lupia before taking the trip and laying out so much money for the snack: Philadelphia Cream Cheese (in your grocery store's cheese and yogurt section) makes several flavored cream cheeses, including one with pineapple in it that you can get in a SMALL container. Try that out warmed on a lightly toasted bagel or bread slice. Easy peasy.
Counting down to January, having a bit of a budget trip but still looking forward to our trip!
Same we’re only doing 2 parks and universal.. but as a family of five any money we can save will help.
Liberty tree is amazing!!! I have a gluten intolerance and my boyfriend has multiple allergies. They were so accommodating and it was the best GF bread rolls I’ve ever had!
i'm going to disney with my 4 little nieces/nephew, the oldest is 6. The only souvenier i KNOW i'm getting is a 50th anniversary popcorn bucket- i'm gonna wear it on my hip every day we're in the parks, and then every time the kids say they're hungry for a snack while we're in the middle of a line or someone's in the bathroom- because yknow how toddlers are- we don't have to break up the group of 12, they can all just mooch off my popcorn. It's cheap and delicious. Bonus points because their mom is vegan and the popcorn is dairy-free.
Love it!!! Tell us more about the popcorn flavors and refills 🍿 thanks 😁
I’ve been watching these all day and I am STARVING
I watch with a snack beside me and a glass of water.
@@candycemonroe7345 smart, I’ve just been longing for a mini mango pie for the last 3 years
Hi AJ love all the videos! Just wondering could you do a video with tips for traveling to Disney with a child with disabilities 🙂
We've got reservations for Liberty Tree Tavern on our upcoming trip in September.
Liberty Tree Tavern is my favorite restaurant by far.
@@hseifert1130, Mine too! Everything is great but the dessert is amazing.
Thank you for all the cheap food...this makes me so happy😁
I had my first pongu lumpia yesterday (7/28/21). I liked it. I do wish the wrapper were crisper.
If I want a non-chocolate dessert (a rare occurrence!), I'll get it again.
First time at Geyser Point on this trip. Not much for gluten-free diets (a nice chicken sandwich is about it), but nice atmoshpere.
G-f churros as Nomad Lounge are awesome!
Disney Popcorn is next level, but Tokyo Disney popcorn is the best!
I have not had Disney World/Land popcorn, but I did have Tokyo Disney Sea popcorn! I had the Garlic Shrimp flavored popcorn and it was the perfect snack to eat while watching a theatre show!
Nice to know these deals, im moving in January, close to Disney World, i got my season pass ready to go enjoy my lfe.
Thanks AJ😀
I was at Disney a few days ago and my family had a Sci-fi reservation. It sadly conflicted with our rise of the resistance boarding group, so we ended up rushing dinner and ran with to go boxes of French fries over to galaxy’s edge lol. Since we hadn’t eaten there in 2 years, I was so excited, but we got seated way later than our real reservation time because everyone was avoiding the rain by waiting at the tables which to me was, rather annoying. Sci-fi is a great restaurant that I highly recommend!!
We love Disney!!
I think of "The Fountain" as "Beaches & Cream II". If B&C is booked up, it's just a short walk away!
I can't imagine what prices Disney World charges nowadays for their menu items. The food seemed expensive even back in the mid1990s. Don't most people just leave the parks around lunch time or the early afternoon to go grab lunch or an early dinner at the local restaurants outside of the parks to save money? Or some people just go to their car and grab a sandwich and drink out of their cooler? Definitely much cheaper than eating in the park.
We always eat in park because the time lost by leaving and coming back just doesn’t make sense. You kinda just fall into a fugue state with the prices after a while. On the way home last time I went into a gas station to buy drinks and was momentarily shocked that the 3 bottles of soda I bought cost me like $6 instead of $12-15.
@@jadecoloredglasses5822 I guess with the Magic Kingdom park that makes sense about losing time since you need to take the ferry or monorail back to the main parking lot. It didn't seem to take too long to walk to the car from Epcot or the MGM studios parks when I used to go. But then, you didn't need the fast pass or Genie pass thing back then and the lines were reasonable. The fact that it's a certainty that you'll be in a long line for each ride seems ridiculous for what you're paying for.
LOVE LOVE That Dole Whip; it's like a law that you have to get one at Disney!!
Can you make a Video on Aulani Disney Resort and Spa? (Hawaii).
The caveat to all of this and she said it, is that most of this is cheap for Disney. The quick service seems typical for other restaurant prices.
I know for when some friends come down Megaplex I'm thinking of taking them to Homecomin' or Hangar bar or Ragalan Road.
Warm cream cheese and guava paste....yummmmmmmmm
Nomad lounge for the win!
Where were you in February? My kids had he three of us sharing when we could. Three adults is a lot to share
I Can't wait will be there Sept 30th thru Oct 7th. Will be there for the 50th!!!!!
Any updates on whether or not you can use the Tokyo Disney buckets for a refill? I "accidentally" bought too many when we were there because they were too cute.
The gas station as you exit the magic kingdom parking lot. Best prices on property.
I'm going to Disney World so excited✈🛫😃😊😄
As captain cheap, this video is perfect for me!
... I only do signature if someone else is paying for it. I SAID WHAT I SAID
Can y’all do a “Meatless Meals/Snacks Options” video?
Disney popcorn 😋😊 I hope Disney keeps the family style, I'm not a fan of buffets. Thanks for sharing ❤😃😊❤
I like buffets, especially when they feature Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, French Toast, pancakes, fresh fruit and fruit juices. As for Disney popcorn, that's my first choice of snacks to eat when watching TV in your hotel room. Ditto for munching caramel popcorn and Mickey Rice Krispies treats while binge-watching Disney movies when your legs are hurting from too much walking in the parks.
Amazing resource AJ!! I know this is DISNEY food blog….we LOVE DFB and are usually a Disney family!!!!!!!! BUT we are going to Universal this summer…does anyone know of a video just like this but for Universal?! 😊
Check our rix Flix he does purely universal videos. He's probably got food ones don't remember. Also all ears probably got some reviews.
@@savingfelvkitties7424 I love Rix Flix!! I wish he would do one that’s just like this- the cheapest eats!! Thank you for the recommendation!
Dev from PC Dev and allears do cover universal food, but I don't think they have done a cheep eats video.
Cooke’s of Dublin has Gluten Free fish & chips. Yum!!
Neve pay for water u can get free water almost anywhere
yes! the video we need.
I am going next august and I am so excited for it.
Cheap food at Disney is a misnomer!😁
Depends have you been to six flags lol
@@TiNyBaNgLeTiGeR 🤣
Please do a video for cheap eats in Disneyland! Also a video on how to do Disney with baby/toddler would be super awesome.
They made me hungry but can you do a video of gluten free food in disney world
I would like to use you guys as my reference for my Disney adventure
Always get the carrot cake cookie I eat half safe half for breakfast the next morning with my coffee
Probably shouldn't have started watching this while hungry and waiting for my lunch 😄 I'm starving now
I’m surprise by Disney’s poutine prices, it’s really similar to the regular price we pay at dinners in Canada!
Never been so early! I'm so looking forward to our trip in August!
While I know this is from 2021 a small tip about "buffets" regardless of where you are. Watch those heavy meals TOO early in the day, lest you and your group get hit by a food coma during your stay. An end-of-day thing? It could be perfect for closing out the day. A heavy meal may leave you napping on rollercoasters and/or court a sudden and unstoppable bathroom break at any time afterwards as well as a possible embarrassing ride moment when your stomach goes upside down! LOL. :)
Any info on the dining plans coming back
I love disney!
Hi, did Garden Grill used to do breakfast? 😋
AJ's husband must really love Via Napoli because that's the only time I've ever heard him mentioned lol
At captain cooks you can ask for a grilled cheese with fries and a pop but it’s not on the menu
Hey AJ, how do i get this cheap food guide in my email I signed up but can't find it
Thxs in advance x
Sadly our September trip from uk has been cancelled for the 2nd Yr due to corvid, so we leaving it till 2024, but still handy to have where to eat cheap
Disney popcorn is the BEST!!
Could you do a video on sweet but sugar-free treats?
Disney is losing it's Magic! 90 minutes to get on a kids ride, no Fast Pass. Then they change $5 for a ice-cream you can find at target, 4 in a box for 3 dollars. Most of the little extras are gone! It's sad!
My friend requested the fried chicken from trails end. :)
*gasp* AJ talked about Wine Bar George and didn't mention the Fire Cheese! Clearly, this was a grave oversight. ;)
Unrelated but, since social distance may be important for some children, has the DFB team tried tent camping on Disney grounds? Is that ever worth it?
We officially booked our next Disney trip for May 2022 and I am already making my plans!
Can you make another Disneyland video please?
YALL making me so hungry rn.
Does Disney still offer a dining plan that gives a lot of choices of places to eat? We dud this SEVERAL YEARS AGO and it was so worth it
Yum!
Does anyone know if Starbucks partners can use our discount in the parks?
WHOA NO !! not the Chicken Fried Rice @ Yak & Yeti
I got that once and found a MEAL WORM in the middle of all that rice. YUCK !!!
When we made the place aware of it they only offered to remake it - NO THANKS !!
😮
Can you do a Disneyland one
Are there any plant based options at trail’s end?
They have entire plant based versions of the regular family style dinner; beyond meat sausage, jackfruit pulled ‘pork’, veggie chicken, and a bunch of veggies...their bread/salad and dessert options are plant based too. Same goes for breakky.
Water!
Each time it hits 30•C outside my body just goes
Honey
We're in FLORIDA
and then it puts dfb on and I'm like
Okayy then?
I LOVE Disney popcorn and I always get the fancy container to refill.
Do you happen to know if you can use the refillable popcorn buckets at any of the parks? Or just the one you bought it from?
