At Storybook, we had an awesome time with character interaction...the characters (Dopey, Grumpy, Snow White) came around 3x for a significant period of time (Grumpy and I had an argument 😃 ) When that happened both Dopey and Snow White came back to our table and joined in, AWESOME!, and they were busy! We did need to go and meet Evil Queen...but she liked my memory book I had her sign so she had a full on convo with me and my daughter. We loved it so much we realized after we got home that a significant number of photos were from the Storybook Dinner experience. So recommend! (fyi- our apps were unlimited and keep bringing us more, but didn't need it...we were full!)

Either Topolinos at The Riviera or Narcoosees at the Floridian. Besides having amazing food, both will give you prime viewing access to the fireworks shows without having to fight crowds. Even if you go there for breakfast only (and the character breakfast at Topolinos is just as good as the others!), if you come back later in the eve and show your receipt, they will still let you go to the viewing deck to watch them.

The food is really good and the experience is even better. We went for the first time last trip and it’ll be a go to from here forward. The interaction with the characters is so immersive, just because they have more time to actually interact with you. We have pics of Pluto sneaking dessert with us and Mickey scolding him for stealing a bite. It was an experience that even the non-Disney adults said was going down as a core memory. AJ is right about it, in my book, and for what it’s worth, I can’t recommend it enough. 😊

Any chance of doing a video of the best places to eat for those with food allergies?

    • @UnstapledLisa
      @UnstapledLisa Před 7 měsíci

they have addressed food allergies in previous videos I think the trouble is that all the restaurants depending on dietary restrictions have foods that should be safe the only restaurant that I think of is gluten, peanut free, vegetarian if not vegan is Erin McKenna's bakery.
What AJ has recommended in the past is looking at menus online either at website or the disney my experience app which will sometimes say allergy friendly highlighted on menu items that are or contacting the restaurant you may want to experience directly.
I truthfully am disabled so I only watch the videos to relax as I can't go to DW again and I also know you aren't the only person to ask for content like that, I just think that the reason why they haven't created specific restaurant videos is that other than Erin McKenna's bakery which I think is sweet specific only catering to various food allergies and being vegetarian at least, all the other restaurants in the Disney bubble do not have any other restaurant that was created for allergies only so it would be a really short video.
But again as someone who's loved these videos as an escape and been subscribed for like 6 years she has mentioned numerous times on checking menus online for restaurants you may be interested or asking for input from the restaurants themselves once you've arrived as most have books of their menu items and ingredients in each entree, which I get might hamper you wanting to plan this in advance unless you contact them ahead of time.
Unfortunately though that's not much of a help if a Disney World restaurant doesn't have on their menus online highlighted of foods catered to those with different allergies if you're looking to know for example for a restaurant where you may want to eat at that requires an advance dining reservation.
It also might help checking out DFB's blog or using a search engine putting " disney world restaurant food allergies" in case other disney bloggers have a list, too.
Sorry I couldn't be more of a help. I hope you have a great time on your trip.

I saw a really great reviews on skippers canteen Magic Kingdom. My son and I were celebrating my 60 and his 20th birthday while we were there. Our trip was in September, right between the two birthdays. We made a reservation because we could order from the menu rather than having a full lunch for a sit-down as we had had breakfast at Crystal Palace - buffet. We expected some Skipper and some Disney style service. We had a great experience everywhere else in disney, but I will not go to this restaurant again. There was no indication that it was anything special. The food was really good, but there were no jokes and the wait staff appeared annoyed by us, rather than happy to see us. It wasn't worth it. I'm going with my father-in-law and friend in January and we will definitely do counter-service instead.

It’s very good. We have eaten there multiple times. They also do take out (or they used too), which is nice after a long day at the parks.

You didn't mention the bast fine dining restaurant on the property. I am not going to mention it here because I don't want it overrun.

Why anyone would go to DW for "dining" is beyond me. As a general rule, the greater the character involvement and "immersion" the worse the food. The absurd cost is even more infuriating when you consider it's masssed produced 99% of the time. (Most great restaurants (outside DW of course) are small.) The only mention of price is "higher than you may like". LOL Let's face it - most folks get fast food - burgers, chips, fries, shakes, chicken fingers, soda etc
the advertising is misleading to say the best. Le Cellier advertises "dinner" for $49....if you don't have a drink, appetizers, side or dessert. Some friends took grandkids and ate here (just the two) - with tax and tip: $242. (glass wine each, an appetizer each, entree, 1 side each, split a dessert) the main complaint of many was environment - too loud, too crowded, too slow, had to wait with reservations.

Warning: Those with a fear of heights (acrophobia) will NOT want to go out on the balcony at California Grill! But you can likely still get a good view from inside, just request such when you arrive.

Probably same reason I can’t go to Ohana or California Grill this winter. Reservations open 60 days plus the duration of the trip for certain Disney hotel guests. Those guests book most or all the open spots in the coolest restaurants in seconds, so unless you’re that good and lucky or using a travel agency, well, good luck getting a spot.

“expect it to exceed your expectations?” If I expect it to exceeded my expectations and it does exceeded my expectations then that meets my expectations. It doesn’t exceed them. That’s something of a conundrum isn’t it?

I think it’s clear that this communicates the idea “expect this to exceed your preconceived notions of what you think it will be before you go”.
