- If your Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer starts cutting off during use, red or white lights begin flashing, or it becomes overheated, these could be signs that your filter needs cleaning.
To maintain optimum performance, your Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer filter needs to be cleaned once a month as shown in our video guide.
Professional stylist, Elly, takes you through simple steps to clean your filter:
Step 1. Debris should be wiped from the outer filter cage and from the inner filter mesh using a soft, dry cloth.
Step 2. For stubborn debris, the filter mesh should be brushed using a new or lightly used clean dry toothbrush.
Step 3. If your appliance continues to experience issues, wipe the filter mesh with a warm damp cloth or wet wipe, then leave the appliance to sit for around 5 minutes. Brush the entire inner filter mesh firmly for 1-2 minutes, ensuring all moisture is removed before proceeding. Finally wipe the filter mesh using a dry, lint-free cloth. Rotate the filter cage back into position, then switch the appliance on and allow to run for 1 minute. The appliance should work as normal.
Always switch off and unplug your appliance before carrying out any maintenance. If it's been in use, allow it to cool down completely.

I have had my Dyson for 3 years, did not know it had a cleaning brush. Lately it had been stopping, did not realise that the filter was blocked!! After seeing you, I looked in the box and found it hidden! Thank you very much!!
hii where did u find it cos i cant seem to find mine
Where is it hidden?
Also i did not see any spare filter…hmm
Thanks, Elly!
No filter brush with mine, no spare filter and the filter cage does not come apart at all so cannot be soaked. Mine is an early model.

I got mine a year ago abd dont have those either 🤷🏽♀️
I almost broke mine trying to take it apart
I’ve had 2 hair dryers, neither came with a cleaning brush, the filters arnt detachable
What about cleaning the silver foil filter below the cage? That is the real reason for the drier not blowing properly. The cage is just protection for the foil filter.
I didn't get an extra cage with mine..
Same
@@greyzoanimation6024 I didn’t get the cleaning brush either..
@@Accuaro Neither, i think i should I write to Dyson or call…
I didn’t either
I didn’t get the extra cage.
I just got mine about a month ago and it didn't come with a cleaning brush?
Same. Where are the instructions for this maintenance? 🤔
This is for the professional hair dryer
@@Listen2me400 it’s in the small square black box .. down next to the guarantee book (I found mine there)
@@Listen2me400 the new ones don’t come with the cleaning brush or the changeable filter cap
