Tesmen Voltage Tester, TESMEN TN-213 Non-Contact Voltage Tester

Tasmen sent me two of these voltage testers. The first one I used and I was very impressed. It was able to track the wires inside of the walls. I opened the second one to make a video and it seemed to go off everywhere in my shop. I could be 18 inches away from the wall and the light would start flashing and the machine would start beeping. I thought that maybe I had some sort of short in my shop. So I went up to the house and was getting the same type of results. So I do not know if this is normal as I normally have a voltmeter that I normally use to test if a wire has power. My voltmeter also has a non contact pickup on it. So instead of saying whether this is good or bad I just want it to show what I found so that others can make a informed decision as to whether or not this is the for them.

I have a similar one and it doesn’t do that but I have to touch the outlet for it to go off
