Live Audio Troubleshooting Tools: Tesmen TN-213 AC Power Non-Contact Tester

The TESMEN TN-213 is an affordable non-contact voltage tester that can speed onstage and FOH troubleshooting of AC power loss issues. Techs and band members can have a quick test of power to audio consoles, guitar amps, lighting fixtures, video rigs, and AC extension cables to quickly determine if there is a potential major hardware failure, or a simple breaker or cable failure or disconnect (the dreaded "air gap"). All without disconnecting power cables at any point nor connecting probes. All things slowing down a process that usually is a small problem hiding in plain sight that this can lead you to. Find it quickly, make the necessary fix, and the show goes on.

Today's video is about a tool that works great for a quick AC power troubleshooter for techs and bands. It's non-contact so you don't need probes to use it, and you don't even have to unplug any power cables for this quick testing. It makes chasing down a loss of power or something that fails to power on in the first place, a breeze for the basic normal causes. And did I mention, it's also very inexpensive...
Electricians/installers use these, but the ability to be a troubleshooting tool for live audio and stage lighting might not be as obvious.
