I have the g502 hero as a productivity mouse and i don't mind upgrading to g502x lightspeed. I was considering the basilisk v3 pro but the g502x lightspeed is cheaper. The weight of the wired g502x is attractive but it doesn't feel like much of an upgrade over my current g502 hero which I'm not using for gaming, and especially with that average-looking rubber cable they decided to use.

I used the G502 Lightspeed for years and years. I messed up and found the MouseReview subreddit and began my steady decline into chasing FOMO and what was "competitive". I've used 30 mice in the last year. Consumerism took hold and I ended up on the Superlight, ignoring thumb and wrist pain that all these super lightweight mice gave me. Gotta have the "best" tech, right? Gotta be ready to be "competitive", right? Wrong. I'm 38 years old. I'm never getting out of Diamond, let's be real. Once I saw the G502X leak, I sold my entire lot, and snagged the G502X Lightspeed. I play all different kinds of games. FPS, MMO, etc. The extra buttons were always helpful and the comfort is unmatched. I always played well. Don't know why I did all that. The moral of this novel is just be happy with what you have. Don't do what I did. lol.

Same sort of story with me tbh, always loved the G502 shape more than any other mouse, but once I got into tac fps I was convinced I needed every tiny bit of advantage and wasted so much money on buying every new mouse that came along. Just for the hell of it one day I tried my old G502 wired just to see how much harder it would be, and to my surprise my aim while definitely more steady and my flicks weren't as fast, was still pretty accurate and I was still able to be consistent. Honestly people act like it's impossible to get good with a heavy mouse, but it's all just muscle memory. If that's what you've used for like 2 years, switching to something else might not be as beneficial as people think. I said fuck it and just bought the G502 lightspeed and that's what I've been on ever since. Looking to pick up the wired version of this mouse.

The Logitech G502 Lightspeed was my first real wireless gaming mouse and I loved it! These extra features honestly make it worth it for me to swap my mouse out, especially since I bought the 3 year warranty so I might as well. Gonna get the regular G502 X Lightspeed(No RGB) and save the money for more battery life and I don't even really see the lights when using the mouse. One question though, will my Macros and Key Binding profiles for my various different games transfer over or be imported from the Logitech G Hub when I plug in and use the new mouse? It would honestly suck if I were to have to re-enter/create all of them since I have so many

  • @buraktabakoglu
    @buraktabakoglu Před rokem +3

Got the G502X Lightspeed version in black (my first ever G502) and i'm freakin loving it. The only thing that stopped me buying a G502 before was the non-removable sniper&thumb button on the side. Absolutely hated it. Now that they've pulled a razer on that thing (on Basilisk Ultimate it is removable), got it ASAP.
Using a Razer Basilisk Ultimate on the side and i must say that mouse has a very unstable scrolling experience. You cannot switch weapons in games only relying on the scroll wheel steps because it is not registering scrolls until you push the wheel a little bit further in order to complete its registering... When i opened it up i saw that it's using a cheap potentiometer system rather than an Optical encoder like Logi products. And that potentiometer is wiggling back and forth as you scroll the wheel causing those scroll skips. I've managed to tuck a toothpick (yes a freakin toothpick) in the enclosure in order to prevent it to wiggle, and it improved the scroll skips to a managable degree. If anyone is interested in it i can send photos of it.
Anyway, stay away from Basilisk ultimate and V2. Stick to G502X.

I have been using G502 since like 10 years ago, the wired version, lightspeed version, and I'm definitely upgrading to this. Reason being, I really like the looks and shape of the mouse, but it is very difficult to clean, especially for people like me with sweaty hands. The grooves on the sides gets filled with greases really quick, and they go in all directions, I have to clean it with a toothbrush everytime. Also, the old metal scroll wheel oxidizes after the protection layer falls off, and the new lightweight scroll wheel is really hard to clean, it gets all greasy in the circumferences in no time. It seems to me that these will be less of a problem with this new iteration, and having a type-c port is definitely a plus.

A mouse not having a braded cable is a GOOD thing. Why would you want your mouse cable to be stiffer and have more friction in the event it's not suspended and is instead being dragged around? Just because Razer and logitech told you it was a good thing doesn't make it so.

I currently use a Logitech G502 x wired and a Corsair SABRE RGB PRO CHAMPION SERIES and a Corsar Harpoon PRO RGB. All mice are wired of course but for me its like this:
    - Logitech G502 x wired is feeling nice but too flat. Setup was annoying hard since first the software wouldn´t recognise the mouse and to begin with I wasn´t told which software to install anyway.
    - Corsar Harpoon PRO RGB has a weird position for the wire not being centered giving you constant side drag and poor build quality especially with the mouse wheel failing after a year.
-- Corsair SABRE RGB PRO CHAMPION SERIES is my absolute favourite. Although the sensor failed after a year (got my money back though) this mouse has the best feeling for grown up man hands, buttons and wheel are extremely quiet (not like the Logitech) and it is rather cheap. Unlike the Logitech it doesn´t come with dpi buttons but after setting it up in the Windows setup I never felt the urge to change anything unlike with the Logitech.
TLDR: Logitech has so far the most modern technic, the Corsair SABRE RGB PRO CHAMPION SERIES feels best, is quiet and will fail within its 2 year guarantee span.
Oh and the absolute most important I forgot to add: the SABRE RGB PRO CHAMPION SERIES doesn´t feature any TPE which makes it non sticky and very easy to clean. Although I went through multiple Corsair mixe of the same model they all broke at the sensor, mouse wheel and /or buttons, but I always got my money back.
My "pro" tip, never buy a mouse with battery (unless it can be easily changed in the future when it breaks), never buy mice with TPE (it gets sticky over time), never buy mice beyond 65€ (it´s just overpriced at that point). I can say that after decades of gaming since I started with a Sinclair Spectrum and the Amica 500 in the 80´s. Hope I could help.

I bought the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro from Best Buy on Sunday and the dongle did not work at all. Went to Reddit and seen other comments about the dongle as well. Bought a different one from Amazon and the same issue with dongle. Razer customer service reached out to me to replace the dongles, however I turned it down. Exchanged the Basilsk for the G502 X Plus(same price) and it’s arriving tomorrow. Returning the other Basilsk I bought back to Amazon.
Edit: I should note that the Basilsk worked perfectly with Bluetooth and wired. My computer would not even recognize the dongle was plugged in.

the old G502 (without extra weight) weights around 135grams if i'm not mistaken. Therefore if that weight is still problematic, than i think they should upgrade. But otherwise, no need to upgrade. Or for somebody else that hasn't got G502 yet, and like ergonomic many buttons this is a solid choice.
My personal downside is that none of them support bluetooth, while others like Razer and Steelseries wireless already able to use both 2.4ghz dongle and bluetooth.

121 grams. I have the Proteus Spectrum model. BT would have been nice, but it probably would have cost more and keep in mind that BT has a higher latency than the Lightspeed tech. BT is generally not recommended for gaming use.
