  • Here I'm comparing the ‪@LogitechG‬ 502 X Plus with the original Logitech G502 Lightspeed. The new model has been nicely upgraded (see my full review here - • Logitech G502 X Plus i... ) in a few different ways. It now has optical switches, a USB-C charging cable, RGB lighting and is lighter too.

I like my products with a little heft to them.
I haven't used a mouse for gaming much yet, but I imagine in this case, lighter would be better. But I'd prefer a little heft, to be honest. Maybe not too much though. Adjustable weights sound awesome.
I did just get the g502x over the older g502 though. They are being sold at the same price on logitechs website so might as well get the newer improved one.
Shame no weights though. Eh, it's fine I guess. Probably wouldn't really use them anyway.

Nice! I've still got a G700 sitting in a cupboard somewhere. That was my first introduction to gaming mice and I used it for many years. Eventually my brother got a G502 and since then we've only ever bought G502s (even Mum has one, and I convinced work to buy me one lol). I'm finally fed up with my mouse cable never sitting in the right place or feeling "wrong", so after discovering how ridiculously low the latency of their Lightspeed system is on my laptop's mouse I'm going to ask for a G502 X Plus Lightspeed for Christmas.

Could you please let me know your opinion on the following questions?
    1. Do you find with the weights in the original G502 that it's more stable and easier to control?
    2. How does your ring and pinky fall on the mouse? My hand is about 7.75 inches (19.685 cm) from tip of middle finger to crease at wrist and my pinky and ring finger always get fatigued, bother me (I'm currently using a M705)
    Thank you in advance.

I love the video, but I do have a quick question. Did you use the mouse that you personally been using for the sound test? If so, I would say to have an accurate sound test you would have to do it with both devices being new. Using the mouse will most certainly reduce the clickiness over time. Other than that, this was a very solid video and I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Thanks for showing how to swap out the 'low DPI' button, because the most annoying thing about previous models is that its set too far forward to comfortably rest my thumb on it. Does it make a significant difference with the extra tab being slightly extended when you flip it round?

It cost a lot of money to change a product. The way I see it, they use the money they make off of one to do the next. Also, if they go all out and change everything at once, and then everyone hates it, they will lose so much more money than with releasing one product at a time and making sure they get it right.

Will say i have had both, had to replace the g502 X plus and had to replace it 2 months in cause the sensor went bad, now the new one not even 2 weeks in need to be replaced cause the mouse buttons are faulty, g502 normal never gave me any issues iwth my original the 2nd one i got gave me some problems but that was after i jitter clicked the left click for 1 and a half months every day for 5+ hours a day, my personal opinion is g502 lightspeed fits my hand better cause the left and right click are farther apart instead of so close together like on the x plus which i like more cause my hand feels cramped. Overall g502 lightspeed is better IMO than the upgraded version cause it feels like the g502 lightspeed is just made better instead of cheap.

The weight reduction is certainly welcome. Just because I have big hands and want a mouse that feels comfortable doesn‘t mean that I don‘t wanna play faster paced games with it. It‘s not an office mouse after all, so pace is definitely favorable compared to a more premium feel. Still like my G502, but at some point I might switch to something lighter and I‘m at least gonna check this one out and compare it to the real FPS mice to see if I could be comfortable with something even lighter as well that will be on the market by then.

It's all the side buttons, left and right click, mouse wheel tilt, middle mouse in, mouse wheel up and down and the side dpi buttons and the one behind the wheel. You can see it all in the software on the review video if it helps.

I bought both and returned the G502. I did like both but they were so similar that I just liked the aesthetics of the X so that's what I kept.
I didn't feel much difference in stability with the weights added and felt that, over time, I would just get used to it and the difference between weighted and non-wrighted would matter.
The 502 was a tad higher off the surface (mouse pad) and when compared to the X but not enough to make a huge difference with my size hands.
Since I have the G915 I figured the lighting on the X would pair better with it and that was the main reason I kept it.
I like the customizable buttons and I've created custom profiles for different programs which is very useful.
The CONS are, like others have mentioned, the buttons where your thumb rests. I am constantly hitting the rear button, closest to the back of the mose, so I had to modify the default command from "back" to ESC so that, if I was typing an email or form in a browser I didn't inadvertently go back and erase my work. Ive gotten used to it but occasionally I do click it. The rest of the buttons are in better positions and easily accessible.
Overall, I transitioned from the M702 which is smaller. I've used that mose for about a decade and always loved it. The 502X is a sweet mouse and easily customizable and looks great with the lighting. The price is a little steep but considering it's the first mouse I've bought in 10 years I figured I'd get similar life out of it so in the grand scheme of things it's not so bad.
    I'd buy it again.

From your experience , do you notice if the right click has different sound than left click one. I am afraid to buy became it will be too loud as in the test video, same case with scroll wheel it sounds so rough? Please lemme know :)

    • @the_stixXx
      @the_stixXx Před rokem

@@superdupervideox no. There is no difference in the audible click. Both sound the same.
I do want to try the Logitech MX master 3s. It looks like it would fit my hands better. I have moderately big hands and my pinky gets cramped because it curls into the side of the mouse.
Overall, I still like the 502x after a couple months of using it.

Also, look in Glorious Model, they have some lightweight mouses that come in various ranges of sizes.
