My doctor couldn’t believe that my hair was my own. So she stood up to come from round her desk to attempt to touch my crown. I told her she would have to wash her hands thoroughly before before putting her unwashed and uninvited hands in my crowing glory. They use to try to touch our hair like this in the 60s, we had to teach them sometimes with fists, they soon learned not to touch.
This is why I cut my hair when i got to highschool. I got tired of people touching my hair without permission. My hair was down my back almost to my butt. I had natural hair only pressed. I felt so violated. Then they would say it feels like cotton. Don't touch people hair you hold your energy in your hair.
Let's call it what it is: an invasion of personal space, we must learn to stand our ground. We must teach our kids that they too have personal space. ☮️

Why is that kids parent not doing anything? I grew up in and out of the care system, in one of them there was a lovely young African girl, she used to style my long hair and she tried to teach me how to do her hair, we always asked first. If the answer is yes, then that’s your answer” she walked off muttering some slick stuff but walked off nonetheless lol

Growing up, I had slightly wavy long hair that went all the way down my back. People always wanted to touch or braid it both adults and children. No one told me I could tell them no, that my hair was a part of my body and no one had a right to it. I never learned to say no, I just cut it. People even got upset when I went to school and my hair was short. It was then that I first realized that how my hair was treated was strange. As a white girl: men usually didn't touch my hair when i got older, women would touch my hair unprompted, children my age would touch my hair though they were more likely to ask, as I got older children younger than me would ask to touch my hair, toddlers and babies in church sitting behind me would grab my hair and pull(only when it hurt so much that I turned around or put my hand on my head, would parents try to stop it.). My hair was naturally gently wavy, like "princess hair", so children loved it. It's color changed as I grew up. It was always between a dirty blonde and brown, with natural highlights of many colors, including red. As a teen, my roots were closer to brown and gradually turned to a light 2 or 3 inches of amber/blonde tips with these almost copper strands that were shimmery in the sun. I often just wore it down, with the sides pulled back in a clip, or in a quick ponytail. People in class or at church would touch it or ask to braid it, mostly when I left it down. The only men that would touch my hair were in church, and I hated it that was the worst part of any of it. P.S.- my family was LDS(mormon).
Man I couldn’t wait to pull in my drive way to say this pissed me tf off so bad. Those people act like we are freaking aliens. Our hair is beautiful we know but it’s not interesting enough for you to come in my space without my permission. That poor baby was so uncomfortable where tf is his mother? I would go off
BP need to stop allowing it! This is really cringeworthy and it really annoys me, especially as someone with type 4c hair. I've had experiences with co-workers and complete strangers trying to touch my hair when I wear it in an afro!
The difficultly I have with this is, that Americans are chiming in on this experience in a non-american country. We cannot assume what the child felt. I remember black Americans getting up in arms when a company did an advertisement with a black kid in a shirt that said "coolest monkey" in the jungle. Black and white amecians went off. The African mother who consented...didn't care. She was proud her child was in a international commercial. We cannot impose American values on everyone. If an adult of afro-orientation was there and did not intervene, if the parent was there...and didn't. Who are we to be up in arms? Our cultures and sensitivity aren't the same. It's different if it was an American black kid here. Yes, white people in America should know better, because we are pushing for sensitivity to people here. We are racially sensitive here. That is not an ideology everywhere... Let's keep that in mind.
Ummm, excuse me! Racism is racism everywhere. The mother of that boy in U.K. was just one person, and BW from all over actually chimed in and thought that sh*t was crazy. Why are people so desperate to minimize the presence of racism? Can we just stop with this game? Yes, it is ugly and uncomfortable. But one of the most powerful tenets of white supremacy is the denial of its existence. If the idea of calling these things racists, no matter where they happen, aggravates you, you might need to explore your feelings on such matters. If one of us isn't free, none of us are.
Its weird and creepy. Never had the desire to touch other ppls hair. Never. Even cats have to sniff you before they let you touch them. Truly delusional
This is pathetic! They treated that baby like an animal in the zoo. Any time they would stare at my hair when it was natural, I would give them a look and they would stop looking. If they ask to touch my hair , well my response made them walk off quickly. I do not play that. We will fight period. Take your curiosity somewhere else or get what you get. It’s even more sad that other black adults were standing there allowing it to happen and not protecting that child. Just tearfully disheartening
The little boys parents need to teach him that he’s allowed to have boundaries and tell ppl do not touch my hair, do not touch me. Stop. It’s important to teach children that they are allowed to have boundaries. And kids need to be taught not to touch others without consent.
I had to skip past because it was upsetting me so much. The fact that they don't know that what they were doing was NOT ok is crazy. He's not a puppy. What is wrong with them?
12:35 this is where this lady lost me in her story time because had she told a real friend about what her people just said to her, that friend would have went back in there and set that man straight for disrespecting her like that. You wouldn’t touch someone’s dog without asking. Noticing when someone is uncomfortable stop. It was clear that this boy became uncomfortable and may not have wanted to ruin the moment. Sorry for this boy, I was overwhelmed just watching. 😮
In the name of God protect that child , all them spirits touching that baby’s hair , these palm coloured people are never gonna learn 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔💯
I HATE WHEN THEY TOUCH MY HAIR. It’s so gross and disrespectful. Like who touches literal people because they’re “fascinated” or “curious”?!
The way the Black woman was letting it happen right in front of her is astounding! She as a HuEman being knows that our hair is sacred. To put your hands in it is liken unto touching our privates! WTH is wrong with some folks?
This triggered me.
They are so aggressive 😠😡
You should not even ask to touch anyone period
The parents failed this child. Teaching your children consent and pride in oneself is important. As well as teaching children how to advocate for themselves and be able to vocalize discomfort. Protect your children!
No. This is so wrong!
If I had witnessed this, they would have all got told and I'm not even his mama! 🤬🤬
This bullshit enrages me! Uggggh!!!!
I couldn’t even watch that video with feeling uncomfortable all over my body. And Ive had some kids try to do this to me at school
Can we say Sarah Barton and the disrespect she encountered and endured…
Sarah Baartman
My doctor couldn’t believe that my hair was my own. So she stood up to come from round her desk to attempt to touch my crown. I told her she would have to wash her hands thoroughly before before putting her unwashed and uninvited hands in my crowing glory. They use to try to touch our hair like this in the 60s, we had to teach them sometimes with fists, they soon learned not to touch.
Lo-key battery, unwanted touching is BATTERY let’s teach our children this, as well. Please and Thank you admire from a far……🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
DO. NOT. TOUCH. Why is that such a tough concept?
Deuteronomy 28:37
[37]And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
Where was the child's mother?!?!?
Where were the barbaric parents letting their children grope his hair?!?!?
Apparently, she's white.
All of that demon energy being transferred to this beautiful child.
Ok, ONE MORE TIME…THEIR HAIR IS DEAD!!!!! Black hair is ALIVE, and FULL OF ENERGY!!!!! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
This makes me cringe!!! Not just on a physical level, but spiritual level. You don’t know what’s on people’s hands or hearts. I don’t like a lot of people hands on my head, touch my hair. It holds energy
Why is that kids parent not doing anything?
I grew up in and out of the care system, in one of them there was a lovely young African girl, she used to style my long hair and she tried to teach me how to do her hair, we always asked first. If someone had tried that crap with her they would be looking at a forty kid beat down. SHAME ON EVERY ADULT THERE.
9:29 this person spoke nothing but the truth. My son has ASD and he has hair and I tell him don't let no one besides mummy and grandma to touch your hair. He was born with a head full which has never been cut. He is not a show. He is a child a human child
I’m not surprised! ESAU doing wickedly to the chosen as usual!!
It is called stealing his energy.
This happened to me about 50+ years ago in Mexico. I was about 4 years old. Two women in a shop we were shopping in were speaking Spanish and laughing. It wasn’t okay then and it’s not okay now. People have come close to being slapped for trying to do something similar to my daughter. The worst is the audacity of folk to feel offended because they didn’t respect the boundaries of another individual and called on their foolishness.
the word admiration includes the idea of respect and not to recklessly approach. So great point Cingy. Theres a reason the put protection and fences around the items they have stolen from other countries. lol.
They acting like she/he (I can’t quite tell) is on a platform at a *_zoo exhibit_* … *That person is not an animal.* _This irritates me soooo bad._ 🤬😖😖
They treated that child like a petting zoo for a full 5 minutes, putting God-knows-what in their hair.
I would gag and lash out.
The boy with his beautiful Afro hair is a popular dancer on tik tok.
He's mother is White.
Here comes that problem again....with her being whyte I'm sure she doesn't understand the importance in our community of not letting strangers touch and play in our hair....
She got that baby out here being petted like a dam animal....I dont like it
Ohhhhhhhhh.....ok. That explains a lot. There's probably no one in his life to teach him what a young Black person needs to know.
Ah, so it's a child of convenience. I get it now. Makes so much sense. Presenting her new money maker to the masses.
Is his mom the white woman in the video smiling?
@@OGK-1414 That's what i was thinking..she was enjoying it
The saddest part about it was how obviously used to this behavior he is. The poor child has been conditioned to accept unwanted physical contact. The implications of this are extremely disturbing. He’s growing up without boundaries.
They act like little man is at a petting zoo. Where are his parents?
This is disgusting and disturbing I would ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOW this to happen to my child AND IM STANDING RIGHT THERE
They "WISHING they have WOODLY HAIRS!! THE "CREATOR GAVE "HIS PEOPLES THIS ROYAL HAIRS!!!😂 APTTMH
UGH!!!! Very triggering. This poor kid looked like he was in a petting zoo. I simply can't.
WHAT IN THE CORNBREAD MUFFINS IS THIS???? SHOW AND TELL??? STAAAAAAP!!!
NO JESUS! WHAT IS HAPPENING!? I WOULD'VE LOST MY MIND OUT THERE!! And we all know they just got done diggn up their butts and noses!!! Hand after hand after hand coming at that childs face!!!
I’d have embodied Bruce Lee the way I’d have been blocking and swatting. My son is half Mexican and has the biggest, ringlet curls, he’s 17 now but when he was about 4 we were out at the grocery store and I was at the deli getting lunch meat… he’s standing next to me doing his thing and I’m just waiting for my deli order… this older yt lady is walking by and she stops, REACHES PAST ME in an attempt to touch my baby’s hair… the way I jumped in front of him and blocked her😂 she gave me the dirtiest look and had the unmitigated gall to ask “is there a problem” I looked at her just as nasty and said “idk you tell me…. were you really thinking about trying to touch my child? If the answer is yes, then that’s your answer” she walked off muttering some slick stuff but walked off nonetheless lol
I am the only one talking at my screen wishing I was there to disrupt and condemn this disgusting display, ugh!🤬
The Kids are just Curious but parents or teachers standing there not stopping them is the problem.
The woman at 9:00 made a great point I hadn't considered before. This needs to be amplified, really.
Mannn my heart beating out my chest…im so pissed..the way those folk would’ve been cussed out…unacceptable…we are not dogs, we are not animals…like wtf
Our hair is sacred ....Imagine people just walking up touching a RABBI like that?!.... EXACTLY
Where are the parents? That child needs to be protected!!!
I would go off
That was hard to watch. Wow.
BP need to stop allowing it!
This is really cringeworthy and it really annoys me, especially as someone with type 4c hair. I've had experiences with co-workers and complete strangers trying to touch my hair when I wear it in an afro!
People are more likely to ask if they can pet your dog before they ask is it ok to touch our hair.
OMG!🥺
I’ve had this happen to me not as aggressive but still I see adult hands too. Watching this was hard
His hair is absolutely beautiful.
I can't... I just can't. They were petting him like he was an animal in a zoo.
Don’t blame the children for touching, they are just curious.
The friend saying "ohh you have to go back and say something to him" was the last thing I expected to happen in her story.
Nope nope nope
DISCLAIMER, I TYPE IN CAPS
I WAS RAISED TO LOOK WITH MY EYES, NOT MY HANDS AND THAT LESSON CONTINUES TO GET TAUGHT ALSO THE PARENT/GUARDIAN SHOULD HAVE HAD BETTER CONTROL OVER THAT SITUATION,
AND WHERE HAVE THOSE KIDS HANDS BEEN 🤨
Their parents clearly skipped over the manners lesson.
