London Buses you exit from the rear doors so you can’t really expect them to shout thank you at the bus driver but i guess you could say thank you when you get on, i’m not sure about the rest of the south
It's not crap though it's actually facts, buddy of mine moved from Kent to Bolton and apart from the bad driving skills of most people he says it's better up north because its more happy environment. Sotherns are quite miserable as a whole though
Sorry - but as a neutral Midlander is the SE that's best avoided, even Driving in/around London is a fight, EVERWHERE else in the UK is nicer, politer, friendlier & less up tight, Hell! - Glasgow is miles more pleasant than London
Hear plenty of posh people thanking the bus driver and working folk in the south. I think bad manners is more of a South London Urban type vibe than a south of England vibe.
I think Londoners don’t because the door is often at the back of the bus to get off. I do a little but feel silly as I’m shouting across and doubt they can hear me sometimes. I do on busses with one door tho
The buses are often busy, so the drivers can't even hear you. When buses are quieter you'll hear people say thanks but that often means shouting because the exit is far away and most people don't want to shout in a small area. It doesn't really make sense, it has nothing to do with manners. It's simply a busy and packed city and holding up a line to say thank you is another form of rudeness. You learn to prioritise not getting in other people's way or holding up a line as a form of politeness Vs saying something. The amount of people that can get on and off a bus at any bus stop, there's no time to stop and say thanks. You get used to not saying anything because you often don't get a chance.
That’s because down south we got an entrance door & an exit door. Up north most buses aren’t double deckers cause there skint so you’ll always exit where the driver is
Whoever works in customer service should get a thank you unless they’ve been rude to you. A lot of these jobs are pretty shitty to do and a thank you can really help people in these jobs (someone who has nearly escaped retail)
People who use PUBLIC TRANSPORT need to remember ITS PUBLIC TRANSPORT, Not your own personal Car. With the loud music and phones on full blast and mum on there phones while the kids kick off..ive used public transport all my life and seen it all..
The last time I took a train it was quiet and these girls came over to us and asked if they could play music on their phones quietly at the other end of the carriage lol
"Blacks" what the hell is wrong with you? You see one person and you're coming up with a grand theory ? And a single Black culture that applies to every Black person, not that that matters to you. Buses in London are busy. You often don't get a chance to say anything to the driver so most people don't. You hurry on as quickly as possible so you don't get in other people's way because that's rude. Different environments require different behaviours.
Foreigners won't get this though. They think since they get paid why are they being thanked? It's a British thing saying thanks and starting sentences with "sorry"
Foreign drivers won't understand why you "Thank" them. They'll think I'm getting paid why is this person thanking me. This is more a timely British custom saying thanks and sorry at start of sentence.
What has this channel become? 🤦♂️ Do you thank your bus driver? Really?!! With all the worlds toppics and current affairs..... this is what your asking the public?! Here's one...... are you unsubcribing from "Joe"? Me: yes, right now.
You always thank the driver. it feels so wrong when someone infront of me doesn’t say thank you. Like just be nice
The exit door is fucking miles from the driver in London
As a South Londoner, I Always thank the driver, and I’ve raised my daughter to do the same. It’s not an easy job.

Stop with this North South divide crap.
Not our fault the North is better.....

Northern rubbish, bus are thanked in London.
They just admitted they don't thank the driver
You need to go to Bristol mate, we always say “cheers drive”
I mean in London the doors are close to th3 back so you'd have to scream it if you want them to hear
I'm from the south west . I always thank the drivers :)
I always thank the bus driver!! North 🏴
I do unless they are late... sorry about that.
I always thank the bus driver before i land. Its a habit
South west here. Always have always will. Manners cost nothing.
Blacks don't say thank you to anyone it's in there culture I think - this us genuinely from my experience.
Of course they don't would you if you where dripping in black excellence? Plus there ancestors where slaves so
I think it just comes down to basic manners rather than skin colour tbf

What a ridiculous & untrue thing to say.
It's a British thing, foreigners won't get why you the person thanks them or starts a sentence with "sorry".
I genuinely never knew that the south don’t thank the bus driver. Why the hell not?? Takes no time out of my day.
I’m from the south and always thank the driver 😂😂
Always a thank you to: bus drivers, taxi drivers, shop workers… whenever a service is provided, just say thank you.
Foreigners won't get this though. They think since they get paid why are they being thanked?

I'm a southerner and i will always thank the bus driver.
I thank my driver. But in places like london, birmingham etc, its not really that reasonable
What about the RNLI boat drivers roaming the channel. Do they ever get thanked?
Let me roll my eyes as most people don't even thank the mailman
Even the train driver if i can.... No he dosent
It is that bad london buses have 2 doors not 1
Icl everyone thanks the bus driver just not london
I do, every time..
The South ≠ London
Cheers drive!
I say thank you every time but sorry its definitely not a hard job 99% of the time
