Hey Anthony!! Ok so I have not seen either of these films and now I know I need to watch them so thank you for that. Vincent Price is iconic, he was the first actor to really scare me as a kid.. nightmare scary. Great vid as always! Although you explained why, having black and white sequels after a original film in color is wild! I wonder if there are any other films that did something similar.

Heeeey wassup D, the black and white thing is weird. I'm not sure if any other series did that but it definitely caused confusion. LoL, in my old Fly vid people asked me if that one had been colorized because these are in black and white. Anyway, thanks for checking in, have a good weekend & I appreciate the kind words.
I wasn't surprised at all at the time that the film---a fairly rare thing- (ie a sequel) for that era----turned out to be black and white. Sequels were always considered to be 2nd rate efforts to squeeze a bit more money on the coat-tails of a hit. Budgets were always reduced from the first effort as it was believed, with good reason, that the sequel would never make as much money as the original in a series. People ---even kids----kind of looked down on these follow-ups. I know I did.

It's well established I'm a big fan of The Fly and Return of the Fly. But watching this, I'm not positive I've seen Curse of the Fly. I thought I had, but this footage does not look familiar. I would though say you put the proper amount of thought into the mystery of Curse. Just don't forget to put your tinfoil hat back on.
Seeing the two back to back does make me wonder if these being black and white is why so many people think the original film is as well.
This has been a great, superbly edited series. Good stuff indeed.

Awesome vid Anthony! Gotta admit i haven't seen either of these, but i totally would watch them, especially having seen this ace review. Love Vincent Price, great to see him and i shouted at the screen when that douchebag shot him. Survived though! What a champ. Both very underrated films! Although we often think of Edward Bernds as a director for The Three Stooges, he dabbled quite a bit in sci-fi as well. Some good casting choices in both of these, especially Dan Seymour and Brian Donlevy. But you are absolutely right about the budget cuts and some of the weird story developments hurting the quality though. Nicely done!
The story developments in Curse of the Fly, work a little better for me on repeated viewing because some of the odd moments make sense. Sort of... 😂 Thanks for watching Betamax! Much appreciated. Be well!
Wonderfully in-depth as always! These are two that are certainly on my list - hopefully one day I`ll do a fly feature series - never seen any of these classic entries at all - a bit of classic Vincent Price is always a good gamble! :)

Return of the Fly was a fun ride. The Curse of the Fly is worth a watch in my view too. It may not be for everyone, but I dug it. Thanks Promeraxz, have a good one!
He doesn't look a day past 99 😂The curse if the fly seems like a wild movie.. the creatures in the stalls look like really good cgi.. even though it wasn't. Great video bro.. amazing stuff 👍😎

I LIKE this review set with its even-handed approach. Endless "clever", disparaging, goofy etc. commentaries/reviews have become a terrible and monotonous (ie boring) cliche on YT.
The last of the 3 original films in this series IS indeed interesting. The one thing I thought a let-down was the bland, over-lit nature of the lab, a key setting for this film. But overall, the film has some real originality and eerie moments. Thanks for the video.

Yeah I like the idea of going in a different direction in the 3rd film of a series even if in this case not everything worked out. And I was surprised to see Burt Kwuok from the Pink Panther series in Curse! . I still enjoyed both sequels- Great review Anthony.
Thanks Mr. Dan. And I agree, I appreciate the third one. The Return of the Fly was solid but it was pretty much you would expect from a sequel. The crime element was a cool addition though and of course Vincent Price was a big selling point. But the third one really least swung for the fences and was more creative. I enjoyed both as well.
I like to theorize that with the fly hybrid in Return, the fly is in control of Phillipe's body, while Phillipe has control over the fly's body. So calling the giant Fly hybrid Phillipe shouldn't be the case.
Less is more definitely would've worked better for a film with a modest buget. Awesome video brother 👍
