The rancher father who you said was "going for an oscar" was a fairly well known character actor in the 50s through the 70s, Neville Brand. He was a highly decorated WW2 vet and was in 136 TV shows and films, usually westerns, film noir and war movies. He often played a very menacing heavy but he was the lead in the tv western series Laredo which lasted two seasons in the mid 1960s. The quality of cast that was put together for the film is quite impressive, most are past their prime but there are quite a few well known actors here.
Calmly explains what a blackroom is then, "I'm not explaining what a fax machine is!" I died!
:)
Yeah, for all those who know nothing about pre-cellphone cameras, lol!! 😂😂😂😂
I was looking forward to the explanation of a Fax Machine too :( Then the explanation of what a POTS is, and then the sound of Cecil crying in a corner hugging his collection of VHS tapes.
I LEL hard on that note xD
@@suraventri2544 That's just BRILLIANT! Funny in so many directions! ( not kidding but gotta go)
You know you're getting old when you know what a darkroom is.
"I'm not mocking the film for being bad, I'm celebrating it for being exactly what it is."
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!
I'm really happy to see how many get it :)
Every time I watch a Jan Michael Vincent movie, I really, really want him to make it through his scenes. I just felt so bad for the guy. Such a great presence and actor in Hooper, Mechanic, Airwolf, Defiance etc...
The World's Greatest Athlete.
"Not a lot of guys have my technique!" LMFAO
You sounded like Patrick Bateman, when you were describing what a darkroom was.
*"Digital film garners a lot of praise, but I much prefer the physical medium of photography. I've even built my own darkroom, with a 12 watt red light, as to avoid overexposure. Sabrina, don't just look at it. Eat it."*
I'll never get tired of watching your videos!
I was channeling my inner Bateman. He comes out from time to time. Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?
I can't believe you didn't mention the women who slowly falls down the hill had a horse available to help her escape but chose to run away instead.
You should check out 1984's Australian film "Razorback" about a giant boar. It's a classic
Its on the list!
@@GoodBadFlicks awesome! Can't wait
i second that...a great ausexploit flick !..i wrote a short story about it when i was..ehm..16
Damn it, now I want six seasons and a movie of Haywatch.
HA
Some people stay in the barn house
Afraid to step into the fight
And some people need to help some cattle
Being slaughtered by a loonies light knife
Don’t you worry
Cause I’m the chosen one.
Caused I’m always sauced
I’ll break down the door with my hog
"The Return is a 1980s sci-fi mystery film" - oh this sounds good "From the director Greydon Clark, the guy who brought us uninvited" - oh boy.
Cecil actually had such a calming voice when he explained what a red room was.
I was using my "ASMR" voice lol
I choked on my coffee at the “Haywatch” part, glad iPads are waterproof now.
hehehe :)
Completely airtight. I encourage any iPad users to toss theirs into the tub!
7:45, I miss Martin Landau! He was the best actor of his generation, despite starring in B Movies.
You should lookup an old TV series called Space 1999.
@@rogermorris9696 I heard about the show. He was also in the original Mission Impossible Tv Series.
Landau is freaking amazing. I wish he could have done a million movies.
You must've missed out on his Oscar performance as Bela Lugosi in Tim Burton's Ed Wood including a couple of Twilight Zone 1959 episodes.
@@corysmith564 Yeah I saw the movie, and he did a hell of a good portraying him, too.
"Smells like Old Milwaukee and failure." Wait, aren't those the same thing?
"I knew I recognize that MUSTACHE!" A line I will never not laugh at
I never, ever, thought I'd see a Rigor Mortis reference in your videos.
A++, my man.
Seth Branson You don’t know Cecil?
I'm always looking for reasons to put in obscure metal references :)
@@GoodBadFlicks and this is now my #1 favorite channel.

4:58 dang it, i thought they would show her driving down the hill as well 😄
holy shit this has to be one of your funniest reviews.
the waitress arrives with his lunch, lmao
Thanks!
Chocolate donuts and beer seems very delicious. Kind of like cocaine with waffles.
I read ur comment in Connery's voice (pfp).
Most people it's a picture of an ugly old man. Thanks for giving me faith again.
I am actually very much tempted to try that out. I did weirder and actually liked weirder.
I don't know the cocaine and waffles really packs a punch.......
Oh you mean the beer and donuts.
Waffael?
The Haywatch cut scene deserves an award... I thought spit takes were only in the movies, but my beer soaked phone and this video have proved me wrong...
Thanks! I have a few of those every so often ^^
1:47, Hayden Planetarium eh. Wasn't she in Heroes?
Ha, whatever happened to her.
@@paulgraham4567 "Nashville" and an abusive relationship... both now over.
Budweiser and donuts-the breakfast of champions!
"This is called a safe light" LOL Great Delivery
:)
I don't like beer nor donuts, but by Thor! Together it might just work!
Hooray for mystery science theatre 3000,, I thought I recognised crow there! 😊
2:42, RIP, Jan Michael Vincent.
I very vaguely remember seeing this back when I was a kid but I could never recall the title. My dad took me to the cinema a lot when I was young, got to see Battle Beyond The Stars, Hangar 18 and a lot of other amazing old b-pictures, and this movie is one of those memories - I'd forgotten more or less everything about it except the kids encountering the UFO in the street and the prospector and his energy blade... the things that stick with you 30+ years after the fact. I'll have to try and track down a copy now - thanks dude!
No problem! :)
Pretty much the same story, but I saw it on TV in the late 90's/early 2000's and... I had nearly everything about prospector vividly stuck in my head down to specific shots.
I swear every damn time I see Jan Michael Vincent I get so fucking sad. The guy had so much promise, but he just couldn't break free of his addictions and demons.
Jan Michael Vincent also starred in The Mechanic, with Charles Bronson.
He was good with burt reynolds in hooper
AIRWOLF!
I also thought he was very good in 1976's "Vigilante Force".
This is easily one of the most underrated film channels on CZcams. I know this an old one but keep up the awesome work. Your content is *chef’s kiss*
Thank you!
And to think, in High School I had a photography class where I worked in a darkroom to develop my own picture on black-and-white film with my grandfather's old black-and-white camera (a requirement for the class, bring your own black-and-white camera, my grandfather had given me his just a few years earlier). Actually turned out very helpful when, at a museum exhibit with my folks, the film in our camera broke and used my dad's jacket to cover the camera and film, stuck my arms through the sleeves, and fixed it. In the class, we had what was basically a zip-up bag with sleeves, or a jacket without neck and waist holes, so you could unload your exposed footage without exposing it to light and get it ready to develop.
Prospector used Pimp Slap. It's Super Effective.
That Menudo band reference was gold 😂😀
10:29, He DOES look like Stan Lee!! 😂😂
Cecil posting a video makes a crappy Monday a good one.
:)
That bit about the missing bacon was absolutely tarantinoesque
Not gonna lie, I had a good chuckle at Haywatch.
Some of these awesome movies are on Amazon Prime. Inspired by this channel, I watched ‘Parents’ last night. It has Randy Quaid and it’s good and bad. Definitely recommend it
Directed by Bob Balaban, who directed "My Boyfriend's Back". :)
Roy Phillips
👍 I was entertained but it was weird
"Red boots DLC" :D. Genius.
My guy you make my day every video. Appreciate the hard work.
It's always the dog with shifty eyes.
Simpsons!

Beyond Blunderdome.
I need a job as a sherriff in this place!!
Drinking, shooting and doing nothing more, brilliant JOB!!!
Anytime a pimp slap is performed on this channel it must be shown in triplicate. Also, the prospector is my spirit animal!
3 years late but I love you Cecil you’re amazing, your humor is great and enjoyment for strange films is contagious.
Thank you!
I've never thought of these videos as mocking the movies in each episode but I can see how some people could. If they can't laugh then follow Hootie's advice, let em cry
:)
This channel is one of the influences that made me interested in these kind of movies! And also introduced me to The Thing, which immediately became one of my favourite movies
0:40 - O those were such simpler times ;)
Aaaahh the 80's!! When our parents left us outside of bars downtown for extended periods of time so they could drink.... I miss those days! 😂😂
this channel is the best. always filled with great backstory by someone that obviously really loves film.
We got Diabetes Raymond Burr, not Ironside Raymond Burr
Edgar bug the farmer character from MIB must have been totally inspired by the Prospector^^
You made me remember that awesome intro you got psychostik to do for the uninvited video.
Best intro on youtube.
:)
Another GBF? Now that's just too sweet!
Mike, Kevin, and Bill also reriffed Final Justice as Rifftrax. One of my favorites.
I was sorta half expecting the Wolf Chopper to pop up somehow! 🤣 glorious 80's!!
I’ve just discovered this channel after having surgery and I’ve been watching them nonstop the past couple days! Just wanted to say thanks for making them, they’re all excellent and this time in bed in flying by!
Oh, Commander Koenig. How far you’d fallen...
Don’t worry though. Moon Base Alpha will find a home someday. And you’ll get an Oscar!
Martin Landau really slumming it here.
just when I thought this channel couldn't be any better we get a Rigor Mortis reference
The Men in Very Very dark grey..
One of your best reviews ever. "Hold onto your pants everybody. My daughter seems to have lost hers."
Thanks!
18:30, a legend has left us.
Pimp Slap. The Classiest of Fight Moves
Imagine my surprise where it turns out the kids in the opening later turn out to be characters played by Cybill Sheperd & Jan-Michael Vincent (R.I.P.). Raymond Burr and Martin Landau too? Cool! Also, this film may have the best bacon story I've ever heard.
The red room bit (follow by the fax machine joke) slayed me. Awesome!
This movie just seems so... what's the word? Distracting?
Like, it tries to deliver a story but gets sidetracked with all these odd sidestories and wacky dialogs. It has a charm to it though.
That pimp slap my dude has is NOT FUCKING AROUND👋🏾
I can't emphasize enough how grateful I am for that episode, because I was looking for that movie for 20 years without knowing its very generic title! Now I can finally rewatch it! It's an unusual blend of sci-fi and slasher which was just stuck with me for all these years, with no answers. It's shocking how vividly I remember this movie considering I was like 7 years old when I saw it: an ID request I posted on one forum had like 80% of the plot right down to a description of the first human casualty. I was actually impressed by the movie enough that I tried my best to do a replica of that lightsaber-style knife out of some random acrylic thing. The movie was and is from perfect, but it has enough charm and creativity to stand out. I think I'll also actually try donuts and beer. I did weirder.
You are very welcome! I like to think I'm doing a service to help people remember all those weird little films they saw when they were kids. ^^
@@GoodBadFlicks As well as bringing to attention the movies we never knew we wanted to see! Guy Magar's Retribution (of which I was not even aware before your Exploring episode) totally saved my Halloween last year and will become a marathon staple onwards!
Man I love Without Warning, I need to catch this one. Uninvited was one that I always saw the cover for on VHS and never rented, and what a treat it is.
Isn't anyone going to talk about how awesome the AMC Eagle station wagon cop car at timecode 11:45 is? I've owned two over the years (and a Levi denim Gremlin), and those cars are bullet-proof and could go offroading places some trucks couldn't.
Keep up the good work, sir. Love your videos!
Thanks!
I love the way You do this videos, always with the most respect for all the people involved on this movies.
Thanks!
4:02 Cybill Shepard is in here too!?
7:47 - Did he just try to dunk his donut into his beer?
7:52 - Oh god, they're aware. Make it stop.
Also, Vincent Schiavelli is an pretty interesting person. The Back Focus channel has a bio video that followed him to the end of his career and where he went after. It's heartwarming.
"I'M NOT EXPLAINING A FAX MACHINE" XD
5:10 ASMR when??????
I've had people asking me to do a live reading of "Good Burger 2 Go" the novelized sequel to Good Burger. Seriously.
I refuse to give you a thumb's-up until you explain what a fax machine is!!
"The prospector deploys the pimp-slap" 😂😂😂
All I want for Christmas is the 80s hair metal concert simulator
i'm quite sure that mitch bucannon uncles was an old prospector
Vincent Schiavelli was new to the industry, and Cybil Shepherd was over it - and they both ended up working together again in Moonlighting!
I think the ending with the white room is supposed to be a super cheap and half-hearted attempt to rip off 2001. Maybe.
It's truly sad what happened to Vincent. I first remember him from the Danger Island segment of The Banana Splits series- which was directed by a young Richard Donner, BTW. I loved him as Hawke in Airwolf, and as Hell Tanner in Damnation Alley (which is an *awesome* movie- please do a review on it). Even most of his b-movie work wasn't horrible.
I wish he'd had better luck battling his demons- he will be missed.
*RIP Jan-Michael Vincent*
I laughed out loud to your, "aww, I'm not explaining a fax machine!" comment. Not sure why, but that was hilarious.
“It’s alright- the cows areeee... grass. ...... they’re nawt carnivorous....”
Beer and donuts. Get that big gut in half the time.
I came for the explanation on the inner workings of a fax machine
Again you introduce me to another classic movie!
*That I had no idea was even out there this is one of the main reasons why I subscribe to you. The other reason is because I like how you break the movie down into bite size pieces and regurgitated it down our throat's.
2:12, Raymond Burr!
Interesting fact about Raymond Burr using a teleprompter. I wonder if he used one for the Americanized versions of the original Godzilla and the first reboot that was in 1985.
i never knew this movie existed. thank you for letting me watch it goodbadflicks style. love the commentary always. lol
The drunk guy from Airwolf? An AMC Rambler cop car? This movie is amazing!
@GoodBadFlicks I haven't laugh so much in a long time. Thanks. I needed that laugh. Bravo!
You are welcome! :)
excellent video- a great start to my day!🥰
Oh man that motorcycle wreck looked like it hurt.
Great stuff BUT please explain how these so-called fax machines work :-)
Great video, man.
This is the best one in a while.
Keep up the fantastic content.
Thanks!
80s fashion indeed! As a kid I crushed my finger tip in the middle of a see-saw/teeter-totter(🍅-tomato) and my dad rushes me to the store to grab a 24oz of Bud and pours it on my bloody finger and thats that. He proceeds to swill the rest ofcourse. RIP Dad 😔
I can't be the only one who can't figure out why Allen's girlfriend would choose to run away on foot when she has a perfectly good horse to gallop away on.
I never knew prospecting was such a popular thing to do in the 80’s
2:50 back before the 80's in most places they'd let you drive buzzed as long as they thought it wasnt bad enough that you'd get in a wreck and the cop would usually just take any open containers away and pour them out. This was still done in the country and small towns into the 80s and 90s. Hell, DUI's were considered more of an "embarrassing mistake" as opposed to "crippling disaster" until our parents generation, unless you caused an accident. I have a friend who was caught buzzed, while underaged, with an open beer bottle and the cop just poured it out and told his parents, no ticket or losing his license. Nowadays it costs around $7k-$10k for your first offense where i live, and that's not counting increased insurance rates or any other infractions, and assuming you pay it all off and dont miss any payments (and doesnt count any interest on loans to pay anything off).
1:29 my grandpa once had a dog that he named ‘Dawg’
