I believe this accident occurred when she was underage. But if she was of age then the mom can sue the daughter for the remainder of the money if she likes.

Daughter had a drivers permit. And it probably was months before her 18th birthday. So that means when you have a permit you have to have someone in the car who has an official drivers license because she wasn’t able to fully get hers yet.
